When Shen Heng went to Jian Shao's office after class, he was interrogated by Jian Shao: "If I hadn't run into Professor Xiang from the Foreign Languages Department, I wouldn't have known about this. Shen Heng, didn't I tell you? If you have any difficulties in life, come to me."
"Teacher, this matter has actually been resolved, but it will take some time to get the results, so I definitely won't be able to go on the business trip with you."
Shen Heng's reasoning wasn't that he didn't want to air his dirty laundry in public; he simply felt that there was no need to bring up things he had already resolved.
Jian Shao said, "Then you should tell me too. Teacher Xiang said that the guy surnamed Ding is a factory manager. Tell me which factory he works for, and see if I can get him to do anything."
Jian Shao's logic is simple: Ding Shifang has the mood to cause trouble for others, which is undoubtedly a waste of her time. If her family's conditions no longer allow it, she wouldn't have the energy to think about others, let alone worry about others taking away her parents.
He didn't think Shen Heng and Bai Jiaojiao, a pair of college students, could accomplish anything, so he still planned to get involved.
Upon hearing this, Shen Heng did not refuse: "It's Lingxi Canned Food Factory. Her father is the factory director, and her mother holds the position of cashier. She takes leave all the time and doesn't go to work much."
"Okay, I understand. Let's not talk about this anymore. Find a piece of paper and write down the address I gave you. This time we're going south mainly..."
Jian Shao didn't bother with these people and started talking to Shen Heng about serious matters.
After Shen Heng left, he made a phone call. He had found the person in the morning, and Ding's father received the transfer order in the afternoon, asking him to go to a cannery as a supervisor.
Mr. and Mrs. Ding were still reeling from the shock of Ding Shifang being arrested in the middle of the night. This transfer order was more devastating than being struck by lightning.
"It's all because of your good daughter! She's dragged me down with her!"
This transfer order was too sudden. Moreover, Ding's father had been the factory director for nearly ten years and had never made a mistake. It was called a personnel transfer, but it was actually a dismissal. The supervisor was just a side job for the workshop director.
The workshop director has two trusted employees under him. He was transferred there from afar, and being unfamiliar with the place, it was like putting him in a difficult position.
Not to mention, they were transferred from the main factory to the subsidiary factory.
"How can you blame me? If you hadn't sent Jiaojiao to the countryside back then, would we be in this mess today? If you're so capable, why didn't you send Shifang back? Weren't you quite enthusiastic when you took her to change her name and register her household?"
They are unaware of Jian Shao's involvement and only believe that Ding Shifang committed some crime that was discovered, and that their family members are suffering as a result.
"Now that you see I'm down on my luck, you dare talk to me like that? Let me tell you, I've been dismissed as factory manager, and you can forget about keeping your job either. Even this room was assigned to the factory manager by the factory. You just wait and see, you'll be moving to the employee dormitory with me!"
The two started arguing fiercely, and Ding's father, who already had a short temper, made Ding's mother cry.
Mr. Ding didn't think he had done anything wrong. It was because Mrs. Ding kept telling him that Ding Shifang looked exactly like her when she was young, and that she had a similar personality and was pitiful that he softened his heart towards Ding Shifang.
If it weren't for these two women, how could he have lost his beloved daughter and his job?
Ding Shifang was unaware of the upheaval that had occurred in the Ding family; she was now in dire straits herself.
She had no idea what the people who arrested her did, or what kind of security department they were; she had never even heard of them.
Even though Ding Shifang has been reborn, her understanding is limited. In her previous life, she hadn't seen much of the world. In this life, she fawned over her biological parents but wasted her hard-won opportunity on pleasure and social comparison. How could she possibly understand such things?
Ding Shifang was led into a small, dark room with only one light on. Then a man and a woman came in. She couldn't tell them apart, but she knew they were dressed differently from the police officers at the police station.
"Name, age".
"Who are you? Why did you arrest me? I didn't do anything! Are you a legitimate department? I'm calling the police!"
Ding Shifang had been left alone in the room for a while, and when she saw people, she went berserk.
"Please calm down. We showed our identification to you and your family when we were at your home. Now someone is accusing you of leaking state secrets, so we brought you here for questioning."
Their methods are far more efficient than those of the police station. The spy next to them is about to die. As long as we can get some substantial information from Ding Shifang, we can pry open the spy's mouth.
It's just unclear whether Ding Shifang was simply ignorant and deceived, or if he was an accomplice of the spies.
They also investigated Ding Shifang's background. Her father was a factory director, a pillar of the nation's development, so there was no problem with her family background. They were inclined to believe that Ding Shifang had been deceived.
Otherwise, why would I be so polite?
Upon hearing this, Ding Shifang panicked. She had been acting crazy, but suddenly became tense.
The interrogators had such sharp eyes; one look at Ding Shifang, and they knew without a doubt that he was another spy.
"Knock knock".
There was a knock on the door, and someone came in and whispered in their ear, "This person wasn't born and raised in Yancheng. He came here about four years ago to find his biological parents."
This is strange. Where did she get information about her biological parents?
From that small coastal town to Yancheng, it was a long and arduous journey. Some people had never even been to their county town in their entire lives. How could they know that they were switched at birth and still come all the way here by themselves?
There must be enemy agents supporting them!
The two interrogators exchanged a glance and went outside to discuss, "Then why should we ask any more questions? Just treat them the same way as the ones next to them."
