Chapter 452 Extra Chapter: The Noble Son of a High-Ranking Family

"It's just the start of school, why did you take a day off? Why don't you take a day off to spend time with me?"

Shen Heng watched Bai Jiaojiao try on clothes in front of the mirror, the morning light streaming in through the window illuminating her exquisite figure.

Shen Heng rested his chin on his hand, looking at the person in the mirror over Bai Jiaojiao's back.

They've been married for twenty years, and he still can't get enough of looking at Bai Jiaojiao.

Bai Jiaojiao was wearing a knee-length royal blue dress, looking exquisite and elegant. She turned around and looked at Chen Heng: "You're still sitting here. What have you been tidying up for so long?"

"What do I need to do? Isn't washing my face enough?"

Shen Heng went over and hugged Bai Jiaojiao, grinning as he kissed her on the lips.

"You old lewd man, do whatever you want," Bai Jiaojiao said, grabbing her bag and heading downstairs.

Chen was slumped on the sofa when he saw his father following closely behind his mother as they came downstairs.

"Dad, Mom, you're finally done! I'm going to be late."

Today is Shen Shi's opening ceremony. Both his parents graduated from Yenching University, and he lived up to expectations by being admitted to Yenching University.

"What are you rushing me for? We have to go over there for this stupid school opening. You've got some nerve."

"A lousy school? This is Peking University!"

"Ha, I passed the exam in just one year back then. You really think you're something special." Shen Heng put his arm around Bai Jiaojiao's waist and went downstairs. The father and son had already started arguing again.

"There weren't many students back then, how can you compare to me? If you don't want to go, fine, my mom will go. Mom, let's go."

Shen Shi reached out and put his arm around Bai Jiaojiao's neck. He had inherited his father's tall stature and was just as tall as Shen Heng when they stood together.

Shen Heng was almost driven crazy by this rebellious son. He originally thought that he had suffered all the hardships in his life, and that marrying Bai Jiaojiao would mean the end of his suffering.

It was born at the time of sinking, and grew bigger and bigger at the time of sinking.

"I think you're asking for a beating," Shen Heng said, rolling up his sleeves.

Bai Jiaojiao grabbed him: "Can't you act like a father for once?"

Shen Heng acts all refined and gentle in public, but at home he often quarrels with his son.

Shen Shi was no pushover either: "Exactly! Other families treat their sons like treasures when they get into Yanda University, but you, I want a car and you won't even buy it for me!"

From childhood to adulthood, he has always been the richest young master, yet he has always been the poorest.

He doesn't even dare to take young girls out for nice food when he's dating them.

"Come on, tell me, which family bought a car for their child who got into college? I'll talk to his dad and tell him not to buy it for him anymore, okay?"

"Mom! Do you think my dad is reasonable?"

Bai Jiaojiao was both amused and exasperated. She took Shen Heng's arm and said, "Brother Heng, let's go out. Shen Shi, didn't you want to drive? You drive today. Let's hurry up, or we'll really be late."

"Are you really going to open it for me?" Shen Shi's attention was immediately diverted upon hearing this.

Bai Jiaojiao shook Shen Heng's arm. Shen Heng glanced at Bai Jiaojiao helplessly and handed the car keys to Shen Shi.

"Thank you, Mom!"

Chen held the keys in both hands, overjoyed.

Aren't you going to thank your dad?

"Thank you, Dad. You're my real dad!"

Shen Shi grabbed the keys and ran out. He always acted mature at home, but when he was happy, he forgot to keep up the act.

“You too, kid.” Shen Heng looked at Bai Jiaojiao.

"What did I do wrong?" Bai Jiaojiao stared wide-eyed. This person was getting more and more capable; now he even dared to blame her.

"Why didn't you give me a daughter? I was supposed to live to be a hundred, but this kid made me live to be ninety-nine. Your eldest brother has two daughters, your third brother has one, and your sister has one, why don't you have one?"

Bai Jiaojiao couldn't help but laugh out loud: "This is not my fault. It's your problem that you can't have a daughter. I'm in charge of the other half of it."

Simmering in resentment: to be angry with oneself.

"Mom! Come out quickly!"

Shen had already started the car and urged the two of them to leave.

Bai Jiaojiao and Shen Heng got into the back seat of the car together. After fastening Bai Jiaojiao's seatbelt, Shen Heng fastened his own and reached out to grab the handle on the car door: "You better drive steadily."

"Don't worry, Dad, it's not like it's my first time driving one."

At Chen Shi's age, not to mention his rebellious nature, he would secretly drive out to play with his friends all the time.

Shen was young and impetuous, and he drove fast. On several occasions on Shenheng Road, I wanted to drag this kid to the side of the road and beat him up.

I didn't beat him enough when he was a kid.

Bai Jiaojiao is currently teaching at Yanda University. Her commute to work is usually a 20-minute drive, but it only takes her 10 minutes.

One of the parents, who was a teacher, was already very familiar with Yenching University.

The opening ceremony was held in the auditorium, which was newly built a few years ago. It has two floors; the ground floor is for the newly enrolled students, and the second floor is for the parents.

"Mom, I'm going now. You and Dad go up first."

Instead of looking for a seat, Chen went to the back. He was the freshman representative and was going to give a speech.

"Let's go, Heng-ge."

Bai Jiaojiao smiled and took Shen Heng's hand as they went up to the second floor of the auditorium. Under the dim light, Bai Jiaojiao's dress looked particularly beautiful. Shen Heng looked down at his clothes. It was the short-sleeved shirt and jacket he had casually put on that morning, with a t-shirt underneath.

He coughed and straightened himself.

Bai Jiaojiao noticed Shen Heng's subtle actions, but smiled without saying a word.

The two went upstairs and saw that it was already crowded with parents.

Shen Heng cleared a space for Bai Jiaojiao, pulled her into his arms, and looked down from the railing.

"This renovation is fantastic. When we first started school, the small auditorium was packed with people, and everyone brought their own little stools to sit on."
