"You'll see when you get here."
Li Shuxian led Bai Shiqing deeper into the forest. Bai Shiqing had never dared to venture out recklessly before. There wasn't much else in these mountains, but snakes were a real sight to behold. Their brownish-yellow color and the way they quietly crouched beside you were enough to terrify anyone.
Li Shuxian walked through the woods with great skill. The mountain behind Bai Jiaojiao's house was the smallest of the three hills in Shili Village, and Li Shuxian had explored it thoroughly since he was a child.
"Wait a minute."
As Li Shuxian spoke, he started taking off his jacket. Bai Shiqing exclaimed in surprise, "Li Shuxian, you're being a pervert!?"
"Oh no, could you help me with this?"
Li Shuxian handed the jacket to Bai Shiqing and quickly climbed up the giant tree next to him.
Last time he climbed down the tree, his clothes got caught on a branch and got a big tear, and he almost got beaten to death by his mother.
After that, he would always take off his clothes when he climbed the tree; it was all based on experience.
There was a fairly large bird's nest on the tree that Li Shuxian climbed. He climbed up, took a look, and laughed. There were four round bird eggs inside. He stuffed them into his pocket and climbed down the tree with them.
He presented it to Bai Shiqing like a precious treasure: "Look at it, what do you think?"
The bird eggs were tiny; four eggs barely filled the palm of an adult man like Li Shuxian.
But this is a good thing, because nobody wants to eat chicken eggs. It would be quite nice to have bird eggs to freshen your mouth.
"For me?"
"Who else can I give it to!" Li Shuxian handed the bird eggs to Bai Shiqing, pulled back his jacket, but didn't put it on.
Bai Shiqing quickly tidied it up: "What are you still going to do?"
"I'll find you two more nests."
"No, let's go back quickly, I'm afraid I'll step on a snake!"
Are you afraid of snakes?
"Um!"
"Then hold on tight to me, there's a snake hiding behind me."
Li Shuxian extended his hand to Bai Shiqing. Bai Shiqing stared at Li Shuxian's large hand and blushed. Li Shuxian liked to see her like this, so he left his hand in mid-air without moving it, waiting for Bai Shiqing to take his hand.
"I won't catch them, I have to protect the bird eggs." Bai Shiqing held the four bird eggs in her hands, cradling them to her chest, treating them like precious treasures.
Li Shuxian: "..."
