Chapter 45 Bookstore

The young master took it from Han Xiao: "This, let me see it."

There are only a few patterns of brocade bags suitable for men. The young master looked at the navy blue fabric in his hand and tilted his head, thinking about what to embroider on it.

Han Xiao looked at the remaining fabrics and picked out a sky blue one: "Ruanruan, this one is for you."

"Give it to me?" Ruanruan was still thinking, looking at Han Xiao puzzledly.

"Well, you can be a pair, one for you and one for me, how about it?" Han Xiao stepped forward and whispered in the young master's ear.

The young master's ears immediately turned red and he distanced himself from Han Xiao. The young master thought Han Xiao was a very bad person who always wanted to tease him.

But when he heard that he and Brother Han Xiao could have a pair of treasure bags, the young master smiled foolishly again.

Han Xiao saw that the young master looked embarrassed and wanted to go up and tease him, but he heard a loud voice coming from outside the door.

"Brother, please find me something to eat. I'm starving." Ruan Xiuran walked over from outside with a tired look on his face.

The young master was startled by the sudden sound and immediately pushed Han Xiao away.

Han Xiao thought to himself what a pity, this light bulb appeared so suddenly that he was caught off guard. He composed himself and pretended that nothing had happened.

Ruan Xiuran came in and looked at the strange atmosphere between the two of them, feeling a little confused. What was going on?

But he didn't think about it: "Brother Han, you are here too. When I came back just now, I heard the servants say you were here, so I knew you would be here."

"Oh? Do you have something to talk to me about?" Han Xiao was puzzled.

Ruan Xiuran sat down and waved his hand, taking a sip of tea first. "Hmph, you two are hands-off shopkeepers, not caring about our business at all. What would you do without me?"

Han Xiao thought to himself that it was nothing, but when he heard Ruan Xiuran say that, he realized that the manuscript of the story that the young master had given him before must have been printed into a book.

"Is it about the bookstore?"

Ruan Xiuran nodded: "Can you ask me later? I'm almost starving."

As he said this, he winked at the young master.

The young master was speechless and hit Ruan Xiuran on the head: "Don't be disrespectful, speak properly."

Ruan Xiuran touched his head and said aggrievedly: "Brother, you have changed. You were not like this before."

As he said this, he glanced at Han Xiao, and his meaning was very clear.

Han Xiao, who was sitting and drinking tea, was innocently caught in the crossfire. What does it have to do with him?

The young master's face turned red when he was told: "Are you going to eat or not? If not, I will ask Chuyi not to bring it."

Ruan Xiuran quickly apologized with a smile: "Eat, eat, eat. Bring it to me soon, Chuyi. I haven't had a good meal in several days."

Chuyi brought the food and placed it next to Ruan Xiuran.

Ruan Xiuran was indeed very hungry. He ate so much that he could barely lift his head. After a long while, he wiped his mouth and said, "Ah, I'm alive again, hiccup."

Looking at Ruan Xiuran's embarrassing appearance, the young master was so angry that he wanted to slap him again, but Brother Han Xiao was there, and he couldn't let Brother Han Xiao see him being violent.

Han Xiao didn't know what the young master was thinking, and even if he knew, he wouldn't care. He liked the young master no matter what he was like.

After Ruan Xiuran had eaten and drunk his fill, he told Han Xiao about his recent progress: "It's almost done now. It will be available for sale in a few days, but what about the signature?"

Ruan Xiuran was a little hesitant about this for a moment. The manuscripts given by the young master were not of uniform style. Basically, the story told to him by Han Xiao plus the young master's contribution to the writing made the plot very compact.

Although the young master was the one who paid for the writing, the story belongs to Han Xiao. So whose name should be signed between the two of them?

When Han Xiao heard this, he realized that this was the problem. He had thought about it a long time ago and decided to sign the work according to the original author's name. After all, using his own name would be considered plagiarism. Although there was no original author here, Han Xiao still hoped that more people would know the names of the famous works.

Thinking of this, Han Xiao told Ruan Xiuran these names: "Those short stories were adapted by Ruan Ruan, so you can write Ruan Ruan's pseudonym. You can write Wu Chengen for the serialized Journey to the West."

Han Xiao has not finished telling the young master many stories so far. Some of the short stories are fairy tales, and they have been changed beyond recognition by Han Xiao. It is okay to use the young master's pseudonym.

As for the story of the Journey to the West series, the plot has not been changed much, so it is better to use the original author. After all, the appearance of one of the four great classics in Jiang State can be regarded as a cultural introduction to its original world.

Ruan Xiuran was a little confused, not understanding why Han Xiao did this: "Is this okay? Why don't you use your own name? This is a good opportunity to become famous."

Ruan Xiuran was still very confident about the stories Han Xiao told.

Han Xiao picked up his teacup and said meaningfully, "I'm not a scholar, so I don't care about these reputations."

Ruan Xiuran was immediately filled with awe. It seemed that he had misjudged Han Xiao before. This old rogue still had some good points. No wonder his father praised him so much.

After discussing the issue of signature, Ruan Xiuran showed the semi-finished printed book to Han Xiao, asking him to see if there was any room for improvement.

Han Xiao looked at the book in his hand and saw a smell of fresh ink on it. It was not very pleasant but not unpleasant either.

"I think your book can be made into two types, one is a regular version and the other is a hardcover version." Han Xiao thought of modern books that are suitable for collection level.

Ruan Xiuran's eyes lit up when he heard this: "Tell me in detail, how do you make two versions?"

Han Xiao smiled lightly: "The ordinary edition is for ordinary people to read, but do you know that there are so many wealthy people in Jiang Country. Are they willing to read the same books as ordinary people?"
