Chapter 5 Want to Break Off the Engagement

After a simple breakfast, Han Xiao put aside the issue of his fiancée. There was no rush. He would talk to Han's father about it when he had time. This child marriage was not a good idea. He would refuse arranged marriages and start with himself. Han Xiao silently gave himself a thumbs up in his heart.

Han Xiao's health has not recovered yet. It is late autumn now and there is not much farm work to do. He is completely idle. In modern times, he can play with his mobile phone or something, but there is nothing here. He can only move a broken chair out and stare at the blue sky boredly.

Just as Han Xiao was sitting in the yard thinking about what to do in the future, Han Mingxiu walked out of the room in a neatly dressed manner.

He was wearing a white robe and had handsome features. Only his slightly thin lips ruined the beauty of the upper half of his face. But overall he still looked decent.

Han Mingxiu saw Han Xiao pause in the yard, nodded and said hello to Han Xiao, and was about to go out.

It seems that the basic face of both families still needs to be maintained. Han Xiao smiled brightly at Han Mingxiu, revealing a mouthful of white teeth. Han Mingxiu's heart choked when he saw it, and he subconsciously thought that Han Xiao was provoking him.

After what happened yesterday, Han Mingxiu suppressed his resentment, stopped looking at him, turned around and walked out. He had important things to do today and had no time to bother with Han Xiao.

After Han Mingxiu left, Han Xiao continued to lie in the yard to bask in the sun. Han Zhang came out from the door holding chicken feed.

Looking at Han Xiao who was resting with his eyes closed, he became even more furious. Originally, feeding the chickens was the job of that little bitch Chunniang, but ever since they talked about splitting up the family yesterday, she didn't cook breakfast, wash clothes, or feed the chickens this morning, and left everything to her, an old woman.

It's so unfilial. He is so bold while still living in their house. He will be crazy after the family is divided.

The more Han Zhang thought about it, the angrier she became. She even put more force into holding the chicken feed bowl and kicked the hens that came over to eat. "All you do all day is eat and eat. What's the point of raising you? You're a bunch of ungrateful wolves."

Han Xiao knew that the step-grandmother was talking to him when she heard this, but Han Xiao didn't care. He left here immediately. Why bother with an old woman?

Moreover, in the original owner's impression, the step-grandmother was nice to them at the beginning, but she didn't know when she started to become increasingly mean to their family.

Seeing that Han Zhang's movements in feeding the chickens were getting more and more vigorous, and some chicken feed was even thrown on Han Xiao, Han Xiao chuckled, moved the chair, and moved to another place to continue lying down.

Seeing Han Xiaolei's unmoved appearance, Han Zhang was so angry that she gritted her teeth, and her indirect words were even more unbearable to hear. If her son had not told them not to have a conflict with them before the eldest wife moved out, she would have gone up and scratched the face of this little bastard.

Listening to Han Zhang's cursing, Han Xiao felt a little drowsy. Suddenly, he heard the sound of the door being pushed open. Han Xiao opened his eyes and looked outside.

Han Mingyuan walked in with a tired look on his face and looked at Han Zhang with a cold gaze. Han Zhang suddenly felt like a duck with its throat pinched, her breath blocked there, her face distorted, and she couldn't utter a word for a long time.

Han Mingyuan ignored her and walked up to Han Xiao and asked him how he was.

Han Xiao stood up and walked around: "I feel much better today. I'm fine now, father."

Seeing Han Xiao's improvement, Han Mingyuan nodded without saying much. He just whispered to Han Zhang: "Mother, if you have anything to say in the future, you can tell me. There's no need to say it so harshly. It won't be good for my second brother's reputation if it gets out."

Han Zhang opened her mouth to refute, but then she remembered that her son had just passed the imperial examination. If the news of the brothers' discord spread, it would be bad for her son's reputation.

There was no choice but to swallow my anger. If I had the chance, I would definitely let my son teach this family of ungrateful people a lesson.

Han Zhang snorted coldly, picked up the empty chicken feeder, turned around and walked towards the main house. She really didn't want to see Han Xiao's family.

When he walked past Han Xiao, he hit him hard. Han Xiao said nothing and just took a step back. Seeing this, Han Zhang thought that Han Xiao was showing weakness, so she walked past him arrogantly.

Unexpectedly, his foot slipped and he fell upside down. The chicken feeder in his hand spun several times in the air and hit Han Zhang's face.

"Ouch..." Han Zhang screamed. Han Xiao guessed that she fell quite hard.

I just wanted to embarrass Han Zhang, but I didn't expect her to fall so hard. It was really... a bit of a surprise.

The chickens in the house were all raised by her mother, who would clean up the chicken droppings every morning. After the family split up yesterday, Han's mother no longer took care of household affairs. Han Zhang was usually lazy, so it was good enough for her to come out and feed the chickens. She just pretended not to see the chicken droppings all over the floor.

As a result, the evildoers will receive their punishment and have to bear the consequences themselves.

"What are you still standing there for, you unfilial sons? Help me up... Ouch, my old waist..." Han Zhang was lying on the ground, cursing and unable to get up for a long time.

Han Mingyuan watched Han Zhang fall to the ground and did not help her in time. After confirming that she had indeed fallen, he reached out and helped Han Zhang up.

Fortunately, it had rained a few days ago, and the ground was still relatively moist. Although she fell, it didn't seem to be serious. I just heard Han Zhang screaming loudly, but she looked a little embarrassed. The clothes on her back were all stuck with chicken shit, and there were some leftovers on her face and head, which were left over from feeding the chickens.

Looking at the disheveled Han Zhang, Han Xiao silently took a step back.

"Mother, are you okay? How about I ask Doctor Liu to come and see you?" Han Mingyuan said nervously as he helped Han Zhang up, but he didn't look anxious at all.
