Chapter 2 Dispute

Han Xiao sneered. It wasn't a problem at all. He was probably just trying to stir up trouble again. Such a big thing happened today, but Han Mingxiu didn't even look at the original owner. It showed what kind of person he was.

As the two were talking, a short old lady with slightly harsh features walked in carrying dishes and chopsticks. She looked at Han Xiao and snorted coldly: "Oh, the young master is up. I thought your father said it was serious, but it's okay now. He really has the young master's body, but not his life."

"Mother, Xiao'er just drank the medicine..."

"Okay, okay, don't tell me so much. You're a family of debt collectors! It's annoying just to look at you."

Grandma Han interrupted Han's mother before she could finish, looking at Han Xiao with disgust on her face.

It was he who almost had his son sent to the ancestral hall today. His son was a successful candidate in the imperial examination. Who the hell was he, Han Mingyuan, to be worthy of asking his son to apologize to that brat?

She placed the bowl and chopsticks heavily on the stove and continued, "Eat quickly and clean up the kitchen after you finish eating. You just cry all day long without doing anything. If someone doesn't know, they would think I'm mistreating you."

The two little ones who were still eating were so scared by Grandma Han that they hid behind Han Xiao and dared not show their heads. Han Xiao narrowed his eyes and for the first time felt like taking action.

Han's mother seemed to have gotten used to Grandma Han's attitude. She didn't dare to raise her head and could only nod in agreement.

Seeing Han's mother's timid look, Han Xiao felt a fire in his heart that he couldn't vent. He was about to say a few sarcastic words in return, but Han's mother seemed to have noticed it and held Han Xiao tightly to stop him from speaking.

Seeing Han Xiao's gloomy face, Grandma Han didn't hide the malice on her face. "Why are you not convinced after I said a few words to you? Who are you showing this disdain to?"

"Grandma, I remember it was my second uncle who pushed me over. And what do you think would happen if the clan leader and my second uncle went into my room first to look through things?" Han Xiao said to Grandma Han.

Grandma Han's face changed when she heard this, but she didn't show any weakness in her words: "You stinky boy, you actually dared to slander your second uncle? Your second uncle is a juren. Why did he go to your room to rummage through things? Were you looking for lice?"

As he spoke with a sarcasm on his face, Han Xiao took a step back, and the spittle almost sprayed on his face.

"If it's true, just call your second uncle over and you'll know. If you really don't believe it, let's go to the clan leader's house and confront him."

Han Xiao's low voice frightened Grandma Han. She really didn't dare. Although she was not around when Han Xiao got into trouble, the dispute did take place in Han Xiao's room.

Han Mingxiu usually doesn't go to Han Xiao's room, and he doesn't know what happened today.

"Just go if you say so. Your second uncle is busy right now. He's a juren and wants to be an official. And even if you go to the clan leader's house, what's the big deal? Do you think the clan leader will believe your nonsense?"

"Really? Mother, I just asked the clan leader to come over. Let's ask Mingxiu what the real situation is." Han Mingyuan walked in the darkness, followed by a little old man holding a pipe.

Mother Han felt relieved when she saw Father Han coming back. She walked to Han Mingyuan's side and asked, "Why did you invite the clan leader here?"

As he spoke, he rubbed his hands uneasily and greeted the clan leader. The clan leader glanced at Han's mother and nodded without saying anything.

Grandma Han was a little nervous when she saw the clan leader: "Oh, clan leader, why are you here? This is a family matter for us, so I won't bother you."

He spoke softly this time, without any of the harsh and domineering tone he had just shown.

Chief Han coughed lightly and took a puff from his pipe. "Mingyuan asked me to come. This is a family matter, if you put it lightly. If it gets out of hand, it's a matter of life and death, and you'll go to jail."

Grandma Han smiled awkwardly: "How could that be? Isn't Han Xiao fine? Besides, it's normal for children to fight and play at home."

"Whether it's a fight or something else, I know my limits. Go and call Mingxiu over."

After saying that, she would no longer visit Grandma Han. Grandma Han did not dare to offend the clan leader, so she could only go to the lobby to find Han Mingxiu in a bad mood.

"Head, this is not the place to talk. Let's go to the lobby. Han Xiao, you go too. Chunniang, take Yu'er and Que'er to rest."

Han Xiao nodded and followed his father. Mother Han also wanted to follow, but looking at the two younger ones behind her, she had no choice but to settle the two children first. She had not finished her meal yet and was frightened by Grandma Han again. She really couldn't leave her mother.
