Chapter 35 Yinti is unreliable

Yinzhen was somewhat speechless.

Even if Yinti doesn't call him His Highness the Crown Prince, he should at least call him Baocheng or younger brother. How come he's so irresponsible now? I never noticed him like this before.

Yinzhen didn't want to talk to him, so he shook the reins, sped up, and left first.

Seeing this, Yinti dared not chase after him. His main task was to protect Kangxi's carriage, so he could only curse Yinzhen in his heart as a scoundrel.

Before long, a young eunuch ran over and whispered a few words in Liang Jiugong's ear.

Liang Jiugong's expression was somewhat complicated. He then knocked on the carriage door. When the noise inside subsided, he said, "Your Majesty, the eunuch beside Wanliuhashi just summoned her, saying that Wanliuhashi has been diagnosed as pregnant, and is a little over a month along."

Kangxi's eyes lit up.

He never expected to have a child at his age, and immediately ordered the convoy to take a break.

Hongyu is a few years older than Wenxi and knows more.

Seeing that Kangxi had made such an arrangement, he pulled Wenxi down from the carriage and whispered in her ear, "We'll probably have to go back to our own carriages later."

Just as Wenxi was about to ask why, she saw Liang Jiugong politely escorting a woman in palace attire toward Kangxi's carriage.

The other woman's face was somewhat pale. When she saw the two of them looking over, she immediately smiled and nodded, "This concubine greets the Prince and the Princess."

Hongyu returned the greeting first, and then took Wenxi to find the little pony.

When Yinzhen learned of the situation and rushed back, he saw Wenxi and Hongyu riding their own ponies, playing leisurely, and their expressions showed no sign of unhappiness.

"Wenxi, have you missed your younger brother?" Yinzhen looked at Wenxi's face and for some reason thought of Hongxi.

Even though he's still a baby, I feel a sense of joy every time I see him.

Upon hearing the mention of Hongxi, Wenxi's face broke into a wide smile, and she quickly moved closer to Yinzhen, flicking her little whip.

"Fourth Uncle, I've prepared a gift for my younger brother."

Yinzhen was somewhat curious.

They hadn't met anyone along the way, so where did the gifts come from?

Wenxi then said matter-of-factly, "My grandfather gave me a box of luminous pearls, which I plan to use for lighting in my younger brother's bedroom. My grandfather also gave me a chest of furs, which I plan to give to my brother to make mattresses and coats. My grandfather also gave me..."

"Wenxi," Yinzhen hurriedly interrupted her, "Are all the gifts you're giving to your younger brother things that your grandfather gave you?"

Wenxi nodded.

Yinzhen was speechless. "You're just using someone else's flowers to present to Buddha."

"Who is the flower and who is the Buddha?"

Hongyu laughed heartily, but after laughing, he still explained the meaning to her. Wenxi looked enlightened after hearing it.

After thinking for a moment, he said, "Fourth Uncle, is it that I can't give away things that others have given me?"

Yinzhen shook his head. "Of course, you can give it away as a gift or as a reward. Your fourth uncle just thinks that if you want to bring back gifts for people you care about on this trip, you should choose them carefully yourself. What do you think?"

The little girl couldn't quite grasp the difference, and just pondered it seriously with a pained expression.

Seeing her so distressed, Hongyu patted his chest and said, "When we get to Mongolia, I'll take you hunting, and then we can get a lot of pelts to give to our little brother Hongxi."

Wenxi's eyes lit up immediately, and she took out a small bow from her waist that Yinreng had made for her, which was not much bigger than her head.

“Brother Hongyu, let’s go hunting together when we get to Mongolia.”

Hongyu glanced at her small bow and immediately fell silent.

At this moment, in Yuqing Palace, Guarjia watched the palace maids changing Hongxi's clothes and sighed in her heart, "The prince is indeed growing up faster than the princess."

The Imperial Household Department had measured Hongxi's height when preparing to make winter clothes, but after only a month, the newly made winter clothes were already too short.

The servants of the Imperial Household Department were so frightened that they immediately knelt down and kowtowed, fearing that the Crown Princess would think it was their negligence.

"Never mind, it's just that the little prince grows up quickly, it has nothing to do with you." Lady Guarjia raised her hand, and the servants of the Imperial Household Department thanked her profusely before standing up.

"What's going on?" As soon as Yinreng entered, he saw a group of servants running out as if they had been granted a pardon, almost bumping into him.

Seeing a group of servants surrounding Hongxi in the room, I thought something had happened.

Guarjia recounted what had just happened, and then laughed, "It's because this child grows so fast that it has frightened the servants of the Imperial Household Department."

When Yinreng heard that the brat had grown quite a bit taller in just one month, he immediately went forward and hugged him. Just as he was about to weigh him in his arms, he realized that he had underestimated him.

Yinreng decisively placed Hongxi back on the cushion and said in a serious tone, "This boy has gained a lot of weight, so he must have grown taller. But what should we do if his winter clothes are too short? New Year's Eve is just a few days away, and it's probably too late to make new clothes now."

Wenying immediately smiled and took out a stack of new clothes from her bedchamber.

"Your Highness, rest assured, the Crown Princess has made many clothes for the young prince."

The palace maids quickly helped Hongxi change into the clothes. Yinreng saw that the size was just right and looked at Guarjia with approval.

"Tinglan, you really put your heart into this."

Lady Guarjia blushed with embarrassment. "As the mother of the young prince, it is only natural for me to make some clothes. However, my embroidery skills are not as good as those of the embroiderers in the Imperial Household Department..."

Before Guarjia could finish speaking, a crisp voice rang out.
