Textile factory, workshop three.
"Wu Xianbang, the factory office is notifying you that you've occupied someone else's room and are not returning it. This has had a huge impact, so you'll be temporarily using it for work from now on. You can return to work when you move out. If you don't move out, you'll be fired."
Secretary Yu came to the workshop in person to issue a notice, leaving the external matters to the union and the deputy factory director to handle, and he came to deal with the other party.
Wu Xianbang was shocked!
"What?! Fired?!"
"Isn't this too serious?!"
"What's so serious about it?! You probably know that a bunch of people are making a fuss outside our factory, saying that Lin Dahai and Wu Xianbang called the police twice yesterday to evict them. This house is theirs, so why should they let the landlord's relatives live there?! To put it bluntly, they just want to take over the house!"
"That's indeed authentic."
"It's authentic. Back then, that yard was lent free of charge to single workers from the machinery factory and ours. Now that they're back, the factory has arranged new housing, and everyone's moving out. Why are these two insisting on moving out?! Are they just looking for someone else's house?!"
"Now they're making a fuss, who's ignoring me?!"
"But the factory arranged housing for us. Why did everyone else move out on their own initiative? Why did they move out?!"
"Yeah, that's what you deserve."
"It was the factory that arranged it for us. If we have no place to live, that makes sense. But the factory has already arranged it, why are you moving?!"
"Yes, I think these are two different things. Can the factory fire a worker for this?!"
"Why can you?! Everyone is so messed up?! How do you think those who moved out originally felt?! If you move, others will want to move too."
"Yeah, how could they fire Wu Xianbang?! He obeys all the factory's decisions. What's the use of a worker like him?!"
"Can you think about this? The First Factory has arranged housing for you. Why didn't you move when you were told to?! Why should you move when others are moving?! The factory didn't make the workers sleep on the streets, did it?! Since the factory did its job well and Wu Xianbang obeyed orders, how can the factory punish him?!"
"In the final analysis, this is Wu Xianbang's own fault. There's nothing wrong with the factory doing this."
"If everyone imitates Wu Xianbang, the factory will be in chaos. I see your house is occupied, so I'm going to take it. Would you agree to that?!"
"I will beat anyone who dares to occupy my room to death."
"Look, look, you fought tooth and nail when your house was occupied, but the owner of the house was willing to let Wu Xianbang occupy it."
…
Everyone in the workshop heard Secretary Yu's words, and they couldn't help but talk about it. However, most of them were reasonable people who knew the inside story, and few of them stood on Wu Xianbang's side.
Wu Xianbang walked out of the workshop in embarrassment amid everyone's contemptuous gazes, feeling extremely upset.
When he was about to reach the factory gate, he ran into Lin Dahai, who had also been notified to leave the factory. The two of them glanced at each other and left the factory in silence.
Bai Jianmin and his group at the entrance of the textile factory had already left. After receiving the promise from the textile factory leaders, they left happily.
Lin Dahai and Wu Xianbang returned to the yard one after another. It was so quiet, as if no one was there.
"Dahai, did you go to class?! Why are you back?!"
Only after the men who had moved in had left did Old Lady Lin dare to come to the yard alone. She was surprised to find that her son had returned with Wu Xianbang from next door.
"Mom, where are those people?!"
Lin Dahai took a look at the houses where the people in the yard lived, and asked while observing.
"He went out and hasn't come back yet. I know where he went. I know he's thinking about how to deal with us."
Old Mrs. Lin told her son what she knew, feeling a little worried because she knew those people wanted to deal with their family.
Hearing that these people were there, Lin Dahai felt more relieved, but also more irritated.
"Mom, I'm going out for a while. I'll be back for lunch."
He had to find someone to help him and ask around. He was sure that he would get the job at the textile factory, but Fang Xiaodong wanted to return it.
Lin Dahai had just left, and not long after that, Wu Xianbang left in a hurry. He was going to find someone to inquire and find a solution.
