The wedding has finally come to a successful conclusion.
Not only did the newlyweds breathe a sigh of relief, but Qiao Jiuru and Su Huaiyuan also breathed a sigh of relief.
The couple has been busy for two weeks straight. Whenever they have free time, they're either packing gifts or checking if they've forgotten anything for their new house. They've even gone to the restaurant twice to make sure there are no problems with the banquet.
Okay, everything is going well.
The next day, after Su Feng and Jin Zhu went home to meet all the family members, Qiao Jiuru and Su Huaiyuan gave all the wedding gifts they had received to the young couple.
"You two can keep these gifts; you'll be responsible for repaying them in the future."
Qiao Jiuru didn't ask for a single penny. From decorating the new house to purchasing everything, including the money for the banquet, she and the old man paid for it all.
The same thing happened when Su Ze and Zhou Wanwan got married; they let the young couple keep the wedding gifts themselves.
Upon hearing this, Jinzhu secretly glanced at her sister-in-law, and seeing that she was still smiling after listening, she knew that the other woman had no objections.
However, since Su Feng and she got what they wanted, Brother and Sister-in-law must have gotten it too, so they probably won't be envious of them.
At noon, the family had lunch together, and then everyone went to rest.
After resting for a noon, Su Feng and Jin Zhu went to the train station in the afternoon to buy train tickets. They only received a ten-day holiday, and the round trip took six days, so they had to return on May 4th.
They quickly bought two hard sleeper tickets. Both of them had work permits, so as long as they had hard sleeper tickets and could afford them, they could buy them.
After buying their train tickets, the couple strolled around Kyoto for a while, buying some gifts for their trip to the Kim family the next day, before returning to their new home.
The family ate dinner together again, including stir-fried crab, boiled shrimp, steamed fish, mushroom stewed chicken, roast duck, braised pork, and green vegetables.
After finishing dinner, Su Huaiyuan and Qiao Jiuru took Su Ze, Zhou Wanwan, and the Su Xingchen and Su Xinghai brothers back to the family compound in Beijing.
There are quite a few rooms in this new house, but none of them plan to stay overnight.
After returning to Beijing, Su Huaiyuan and Qiao Jiuru also lived separately from Su Ze's family, only eating together for convenience.
Now that their youngest son, Su Feng, is married, the couple naturally have no intention of interfering in their lives.
Jin Zhuzhen is very satisfied with her life after marriage. Her parents-in-law don't interfere with them, and they provide plenty of material support and money. There's nothing for them to worry about. She feels incredibly happy.
On the third day after their wedding, Su Feng and Jin Zhu went to the bride's parents' home, carrying bags and small packages of gifts.
Today, both of Kim's parents took the day off work so they could stay home and wait for their daughter and son-in-law to return to their parents' home.
When Jin's mother saw her daughter smiling and looking even better than before, she was even happier.
She knew the Su family was a good family and would definitely not mistreat her daughter, and now the facts proved that this was indeed the case.
After she pulled her daughter into the room and asked her about her life these past few days, she was even more satisfied.
What kind of in-laws would give such a huge house and so much money for dividing the property?! They don't even want the wedding gifts; they'll keep them for the children!
This marriage is wonderful!
Soon, when Jin's mother saw the things her daughter and son-in-law brought back, she was overjoyed.
Ten catties of top-quality dried seafood, ten catties of mountain delicacies, one Jinhua ham, and three boxes of old-brand Beijing pastries, not to mention sugar cakes and the like.
On the other side, Grandpa Jin and his father were talking on the sofa. Su Feng asked them about their work and future plans, and then gave them a lot of advice.
When the Jin family learned that the young couple had already bought train tickets and were leaving the next day, they invited them to stay for dinner before going back.
After finishing dinner at the Jin family's house, Su Feng and Jin Zhu hurried back to pack their luggage. Their train tickets were for a departure time before 10:00 AM the next day, so they needed to be at the train station before 9:00 AM.
Just after seven in the morning, Qiao Jiuru arrived by bicycle. She mainly came to help the young couple tidy up their home, as no one would be living there for a long time, and all the leftover rice, flour, oil, salt, soy sauce, and vinegar had to be taken back to their home in Beijing.
On her way here, she personally brought breakfast for her son and daughter-in-law so they could have something to eat on the train at noon.
At 8:15, Su Feng and Jin Zhu left with their luggage, and Qiao Jiuru personally went to the bus station to see them off.
This time when they returned to Guangzhou, the couple carried backpacks, with only their wedding dress, shoes, two changes of clothes, and food for the journey.
After watching her youngest son and daughter-in-law get on the bus and drive away, Qiao Jiuru turned back to the yard to pack up the things she didn't need and put them into her spatial storage. Then, she locked all the doors to the rooms, and finally locked the yard gate before riding away on her bicycle.
As for her youngest son and daughter-in-law holding a wedding ceremony in Guangzhou, that's for them to handle themselves; she won't interfere anymore.
After May, June arrived. After June, Qiao Jiuru basically stopped going to class. She only helped prepare exam papers and mentored those who were selected by the school to stay and work until graduation.
Previously, they planned to visit relatives in the United States during summer vacation, but now they are not going to leave according to that time because Su Huazhu is getting married.
Su Huazhu hadn't even taken her graduation exams yet when she received her acceptance letter as a research student.
After nearly six months of getting to know each other, she and Ling Xiaohe finally decided to get married.
The wedding was set for July 1st, which was perfect timing for the young couple who were about to get married, as Su Huazhu had just graduated and Ling Xiaohe's training had also just ended.
Su Huazhu also told her classmates about her upcoming marriage and invited them as well.
However, apart from those assigned to Kyoto or nearby areas who were happy to attend, the others assigned to other cities or returning to their hometowns did not participate. After receiving their graduation certificates and job assignment notices, they immediately and eagerly went to their new workplaces to report for duty.
Although it's regrettable, my future is more important. Su Huazhu said goodbye to her classmates of four years at her own wedding. They'll be scattered across the country, and she doesn't know when they'll meet again.
On June 25th, Su Huazhu received her graduation certificate, and Qiao Jiuru officially retired.
