"Senior Brother Jinlian has emerged from seclusion!"
"His aura has completely disappeared!"
"His cultivation level must have improved again!"
"Congratulations!" All the monks, who had not sensed his presence, were overjoyed and congratulated him.
"Thank you." Jinlian nodded in gratitude.
"Why have so many people died?" he asked.
"That's how it is!" Fu Hu recounted the whole story to him.
"I see!" Jinlian looked at everyone. "The spiritual water is a treasure of our Buddhist sect. How can we give it away so easily?"
"We stormed into Mount Ling and killed and wounded so many people!"
"There will be a price to pay!"
"Sudatta, why are you with them?" He was taken aback when his gaze fell on Sudatta.
"Greetings, Master!" Sudatta bowed to him and said.
"A traitor!"
"What right do you have to call Senior Brother Jinlian 'Master'?" Fu Hu sneered.
"Junior Brother Fu, what makes you say that?" Jinlian asked Fu Hu.
“Three months ago, he came to the Buddhist sect to ask for spiritual water.”
"Many people were killed, including several disciples of the Tiger Subduing Hall!"
"This time I came back to ask for spiritual water, and I joined forces with this group to kill several disciples!"
“What else could this be but treason?” Fu Hu said.
“You wicked disciple, is this true?” Jinlian asked, looking at Xutuo.
"Yes!" Sudatta gritted his teeth and nodded.
"Why do you do this?" Jinlian asked again.
“This…” Sudatta remained silent.
"Speak quickly!" Jinlian roared.
"He did it on my behalf!"
"Why are you being so fierce!" Zhong Ling said.
"I see!" Jinlian understood.
"You actually asked for spiritual water for this woman."
"They will not hesitate to unleash a bloodbath and slaughter their fellow disciples!"
"Well done!!" He laughed in anger, grabbed out, and pulled Sudatta away.
With a thud, he fell to the ground.
"Today, I'm going to clean house!"
"Boom!" With a single palm strike, Sudatta's head immediately deformed, and blood spurted from his seven orifices.
"Fellow Daoist Sudatta!" This scene stunned everyone.
It happened so fast that there was no time to save them.
“Xutuo!” Zhong Ling cried out in a mournful voice as she rushed forward.
He was helped up, and with a series of taps of his fingers, countless green needles were inserted into his body in an emergency rescue.
But no matter how much they tried to save him, they could not bring back the life force that was rapidly fading away.
"It won't work!"
"No need to waste any more energy." Xu Tuo slowly opened his eyes and looked at Zhong Ling.
"Before I leave, I have something to tell you."
"I don't want to have any regrets."
“Go ahead,” Zhong Ling nodded.
"Hmm." Sudatta forced a smile.
"From the moment I met you!"
"The peace and quiet will never be possible again!"
"I know, if things continue like this..."
"They will surely fall into demonic possession!"
"But I'd rather it stay this way!"
"And they didn't hesitate to stand against their own sect!"
"I understand what you're thinking!" Zhong Ling's tears fell.
"Then I thought about leaving the monastic life!"
"If I could be with the person I like."
"To live a peaceful life."
"That's a wonderful thing!"
"Buddha, it's better not to cultivate!" Sudatta spat out a mouthful of blood and grabbed Zhong Ling's hand.
"I like you!"
"Do you like me?" he asked.
"Sigh!" Zhong Ling sighed softly.
“Speak!” Sudatta urged.
I know what you're thinking!
"But I consider you my best friend!"
"Besides, I already have someone in my heart!"
"Can you tell me who that person is?" Sudatta shook his head and asked.
Zhong Ling turned around, glanced at Chen Tiansheng, and said nothing.
Sudatta understood.
"You only recently started liking it, right?" he asked.
"Mm." Zhong Ling nodded.
"It seems that nothing can be forced!" Sudatta sighed.
“Mr. Chen, come here!” he called out to Chen Tiansheng.
“Master Sudatta!” Chen Tiansheng walked over quickly and squatted down.
Seeing his face as pale as paper and his dying breath, one could tell that his life was nearing its end.
"I'm sorry, I don't have the ability to save you!" he said.
“It’s not your fault,” Sudatta said, looking at him.
"You once said you would thank me properly!"
"Right?"
"Yes." Chen Tiansheng nodded.
"You've helped me a lot, so of course I have to thank you."
“Unfortunately, I don’t have what the master needs,” he said, shaking his head.
"You only need to do one thing for me, and that will be enough to express your gratitude!"
“Then we’re even!” said Sudatta.
"Let alone one thing, even ten or a hundred things!"
"I will do anything I can!" Chen Tiansheng said.
"That's good." Xu Tuo took his hand and placed it in Zhong Ling's hand.
"I'm entrusting Fellow Daoist Zhong to you!"
"Take good care of her!!"
“Otherwise, I’ll haunt you even as a ghost!” he said.
"This..." Chen Tiansheng was stunned.
Zhong Ling lowered her head and silently shed tears.
"Can you do it?" Sudatta asked, looking at him.
"Yes." Chen Tiansheng gritted his teeth.
"I promise, I will take good care of her!"
"Otherwise, may you be struck by lightning and die a horrible death," he said.
"I'm relieved!" Sudatta tilted his head and stopped moving.
