"Okay." The young man nodded, bent down to pick up the dagger, took a deep breath, and plunged the dagger into his own throat.
"Ah!" Upon seeing this, everyone instinctively covered their eyes.
Duncan, however, wore a cold smile.
"Snap." The blade was broken off, leaving only the hilt.
The young man looked at Duncan and said, "I've done it."
“You have some tricks up your sleeve.” Duncan nodded, flicking the dog leash in his hand. “Lele, let’s go.”
"You said you'd treat me to breakfast," the young man asked.
Isn't that right?
"Eat up!" Duncan said with a sneer, pointing to the half-eaten dog food on the ground.
"This is too much!" Everyone lowered their hands and breathed a sigh of relief when they saw that the young man was unharmed. But when they saw Duncan pointing at the dog food and making the young man eat it, they couldn't bear to watch anymore.
“You dare to play me?” the young man said, looking at Duncan.
"So what if I play you?"
"In my eyes, you people are no different from dogs."
"Not even as good as a dog," Duncan sneered. "Starving, huh? Eat up!"
"Otherwise, it'll get cold."
"Crack!" The young man clenched his fist, making a cracking sound. Veins bulged on his forehead, clearly indicating that he was extremely angry.
"What, you want to fight?" Duncan leaned closer. "Come on, hit me here!"
"Slap slap slap..." At this moment, a figure walked over, raised his hand, and slapped him across the face. Because he used force, the slap made him see stars and scream loudly.
"That bastard dared to hit me!" Duncan covered his face and looked at the figure.
"Mr. Chen." When he saw the person's face clearly, he couldn't help but tremble. He suppressed his anger and greeted him.
"Young Master Deng, it's been a long time!" Chen Tiansheng said with a sneer, flicking his wrist.
"Yes, it's been a long time." Although Duncan was arrogant, he still obediently tucked his tail between his legs and nodded quickly in front of the richest man in Zhonghai.
"People in the lower classes are also human beings."
"He's fallen to this state, and instead of helping him, you make things difficult for him and then force him to eat dog food. You're worse than a pig or a dog."
"Now I understand why I hit you!" Chen Tiansheng said.
"I understand, I understand, I'm an animal, I'm worse than a pig or a dog." Duncan nodded repeatedly, saying this over and over again.
"So the guy who hit Duncan was Mr. Chen, the richest man in China Overseas!"
"No wonder Duncan, who is usually so arrogant and domineering, didn't dare to utter a single word." Hearing the conversation between the two, everyone finally understood and nodded.
"Aren't you going to apologize to him?" Chen Tiansheng said.
"I'm sorry, I was wrong!!"
"I shouldn't have made things difficult for you, please forgive me." Duncan quickly apologized to the young man.
"Kneel down and apologize!" Chen Tiansheng roared. Duncan's legs went weak, and he knelt on the ground, kowtowing to the young man.
"Never mind," the young man waved his hand.
“Leave the money for breakfast and you can get lost,” Chen Tiansheng said.
"Boss, I'll treat him to breakfast."
"We'll provide whatever you want to eat!"
“I’ll settle the bill tomorrow,” Duncan said.
"Yes, yes," the boss readily agreed.
"Get lost." Chen Tiansheng uttered a single word, and Duncan scrambled away.
"Thank you, sir, for getting revenge for me." The young man thanked Chen Tiansheng.
"No need to be polite," Chen Tiansheng waved his hand. "Let's eat first."
"Okay." The young man nodded.
"What would you like to eat, sir? Please order whatever you like." After the two sat down, the owner quickly came over and asked.
"Two baskets of steamed buns and two bowls of porridge," the young man said.
“I’ve already eaten, you eat,” Chen Tiansheng said.
"Then one basket of steamed buns and one bowl of porridge," the young man said.
"Okay." The shopkeeper left immediately, and soon after, steamed buns and porridge were served on the table.
"Then I'll eat first," the young man said to Chen Tiansheng.
"Okay." Chen Tiansheng nodded.
The young man was indeed hungry. In no time, he finished a basket of steamed buns and drank a bowl of porridge.
"Boss, another one, please," Chen Tiansheng said.
"Okay." The boss brought out another serving.
"Eat up, we can talk after you've eaten your fill," Chen Tiansheng said.
"Okay." The young man was a little embarrassed at first, but he was indeed not full, so he picked up the bowl, grabbed a bun, and started eating.
He was finally full after finishing the second basket of steamed buns.
"I've been starving for three days!!"
"I'm finally full today," he said, putting down his bowl.
"Your kung fu is not bad, so why have you fallen to this state?" Chen Tiansheng handed him a tissue and asked.
"It's a long story," the young man said, taking the tissue, wiping his mouth clean, and letting out a soft sigh.
"I am a retired soldier."
"He lost his left arm in a battle and was discharged from the army."
“My wife regretted being with me after she saw that I had lost an arm. One night, she ran off with all my retirement money and disappeared!”
"My parents were so angry when they found out about this that they were hospitalized."
“The family wasn’t well-off to begin with, and all the little money they had saved went to medical treatment.”
"As life became increasingly difficult, I thought about going out to find a job."
"But I am severely disabled, and few companies want me."
"I've been out for half a month, and I've used up all the money I had on me."
