Xu Wen picked up her cup and poured the remaining half-cold coffee onto the floor, a sinister smile still lingering on her lips. "Since then, I'd really given up. Meeting this man was just an unfortunate experience in my life. But something happened three years ago that made me happy for a long time. When I heard about it, I suddenly felt that if I tried harder, my senior would still come back to me."
"Are you referring to Han Mo's death?" Wang Shen directly pointed out the meaning behind Xu Wen's words.
"Don't mention that disgusting woman to me!" Xu Wen yelled. "Yes, she's dead. She's actually dead. That's the best news ever. Without her haunting him, he won't be bewitched by her anymore."
"Excuse me, could you please explain my question?" Wang Shen interrupted Xu Wen's narration. Upon hearing Wang Shen's words, Xu Wen stopped talking but did not respond to his request, simply staring directly at him.
Wang Shen observed Xu Wen for a while, then asked, "You keep calling Han Mo a disgusting woman, and I think there's always a reason for that. Can you tell me why you hate her so much? Is it just because Song Mu fell for her? I don't think you're such a shallow and stubborn woman."
After hearing Wang Shen's words, tears streamed down Xu Wen's face. She quickly wiped them away and looked at Wang Shen, replying, "If that woman is indeed a good match for you, senior, I can give up my love for you. I can truly wish them well." With that, Xu Wen covered her face with her hands, unable to contain her emotions any longer, and burst into tears.
Wang Shen didn't interrupt Xu Wen's emotional outburst. They could have easily subdued her at that moment, but Wang Shen waved to the older officer, signaling him not to act rashly. A few minutes later, Xu Wen had calmed down, and she looked up at Wang Shen again. "Because I realized that woman isn't suitable for you, senior. She's a despicable thing."
Hearing Xu Wen describe Han Mo like this, Wang Shen looked at Xu Wen in surprise, somewhat unable to believe her words.
"You must be very surprised and can't believe me, right? That's normal, because if I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I probably wouldn't believe it either. But, the truth is the truth. I can't let a woman like that stay by your side, senior."
"Saw it with your own eyes? What did you see with your own eyes?" Wang Shen pursed his lips, his expression becoming even more serious.
"After I realized that there was no possibility between me and my senior, I wanted to let them be together. Moreover, I also got over this hurdle in my own heart. So, I decided to go to that woman's house to talk to her and see if she really loved my senior."
"Wait, how did you know her home address?"
“She’s a patient at our mental health clinic. Every patient leaves a basic file, which includes basic home address information. Han Mo’s file was initially kept with me, so I naturally knew her home address.”
"So, you went to her house later?" This time, the older policeman spoke, a slight smile on his face. "It really looks like a wife going to her husband's house for a fight." After saying that, the older policeman couldn't help but chuckle twice. Wang Shen turned around and glared at the policeman, whose expression immediately returned to seriousness.
"Go on, what did you find at her house?" Wang Shen turned his gaze back to Xu Wen's face.
"I found her house according to the address. I knocked on the door a few times, and it wasn't locked; it was ajar. I called out softly a few times, but no one answered. I stood at the door for a while, not understanding what I was thinking. Maybe it was like that time at the hotel—just curiosity. I wanted to see this woman's house, to see what kind of charm she possessed that could make my senior so infatuated. Finally, I pushed the door open and went inside. There was a fragrance in the house, a scent I didn't really like. At first, I thought no one was home, until I heard that familiar voice." Xu Wen grabbed a handful of her hair, then pounded her skull, looking pained.
Wang Shen knew she needed time, time to recover her composure. A few more minutes passed, and Xu Wen finally calmed down. She continued, "That same panting sound was so jarring. I was terrified I'd see my senior's body entwined with that woman behind the door again." Xu Wen's brows were almost knitted together. "But I still wanted to verify if it was true. So, I boldly turned the doorknob. Guess what I saw?" Xu Wen suddenly smiled at Wang Shen, but this time the smile only appeared on one side of her face.
Wang Shen did not answer, but quietly waited for Xu Wen's reply.
"Sure enough, that woman couldn't resist her loneliness and was making love with another man in bed again. She's such a slut!" Xu Wen cursed viciously.
"Wait! With another man?" Wang Shen suddenly interrupted Xu Wen, looking at her with a puzzled expression.
“That’s right.” Xu Wen nodded. “I saw it with my own eyes. A dying man’s words are often wise, so you can believe me.”
"Did you get a clear look at that man?" Wang Shen pressed.
Xu Wen shook her head. "The man had his back to me, so I couldn't see his face clearly. But judging from his back, he must have been very young. And he had a long scar on his back, which was really scary. If I had more time, I might have been able to see him more clearly." Xu Wen said and laughed at the same time, returning to her half-mad, half-foolish state.
“Oh! Right! You probably don’t understand why I said ‘if you gave me more time,’ right? Was it because I was too embarrassed to watch anymore? How could that be?” Xu Wen laughed as she answered her own question. “When I was standing outside the crack in the door admiring everything, that woman noticed me and even smiled at me. At that moment, I was startled and immediately left that filthy house.”
"Huh? You mean Han Mo found out about you? And even smiled at you?" Wang Shen could hardly hide his surprise.
"Yes. That's why I said she's a shameless slut! How can a woman like that deserve to stay by my senior's side? No, I have to find a way to make her disappear from this world," Xu Wen said through gritted teeth.
"Make her disappear from this world? Are you the one behind Han Mo's case?" Wang Shen was shocked, staring wide-eyed at the woman before him.
“No! I did really want to kill this woman, and I was indeed planning it. But before I could carry out my plan, this woman disappeared from the world on her own.” Xu Wen immediately denied Wang Shen’s guess.
