Chapter Sixty-Eight Han Mo's Friends

"Captain Wang, you're still in the mood for coffee at a time like this?" Liang Zichen followed Wang Shen and asked from behind, puzzled.

“Yes, this is to make up for the lunch you missed. You must still be hungry.” Wang Shen said with a smile as they walked.

"Ah! Captain Wang, you're so stingy. This meal has really dropped in quality." Liang Zichen exclaimed as he followed along.

"You'd better come with me, kid. I bet there's a story behind this." After saying that, Wang Shen hurriedly drove towards "Zhile Cafe".

"Captain Wang, do you believe what that Han Lin guy said?" Liang Zichen asked, sitting in the passenger seat and looking at the road ahead.

"Are you referring to Han Lin explaining the reason for his argument with Qi Huan, or their relationship?" Wang Shen was also staring at the road ahead, his gaze more serious than usual.

"Yes, they are."

“I don’t believe it either,” Wang Shen said firmly. “Although we don’t have enough evidence to prove the truth of his words yet, look at the expression on Qi Huan’s face at the time. What else could it be but anger?”

Liang Zichen glanced at Wang Shen's expression, then closed his eyes and pondered for a moment before replying, "It's disgust. That kind of look doesn't lie; it's an expression of disgust."

“You think the same way I do.” Wang Shen nodded slightly. “Everyone says Qi Huan is a straightforward person. If that’s true, her emotions would be very abrupt. I can’t think of any other reason for that expression except disgust.”

"But Han Lin said they were college classmates, and that woman didn't object, did she?" Liang Zichen bit his lower lip, a look of doubt on his face.

“I think it’s true that they’re only college classmates. Because we can easily verify that. Han Lin is a smart man; he wouldn’t create obstacles for himself. But even if they are college classmates, wouldn’t they feel some resentment?” Wang Shen gave a bitter smile and then shook his head slightly.

“But Captain Wang, there’s another problem here. Regardless of whether they were college classmates, if that woman really dislikes Manager Han, why does she keep him working in her shop? She could have just fired him.”

After listening to Liang Zichen express his doubts, Wang Shen turned to look at Liang Zichen, then shook his head while laughing.

"Captain Wang, what are you laughing at? Am I wrong?" Liang Zichen looked at Wang Shen with a more puzzled expression after seeing his reaction.

"Let me give you another example." Wang Shen pursed his lips, thought for a moment, and then continued, "Zichen, if I really disliked you, could I fire you?"

"Why not? Maybe it is possible." Liang Zichen lowered his head silently upon hearing Wang Shen's question, secretly glanced at Wang Shen, and muttered softly.

"kindness?"

"No, wait, Captain Wang, why would you hate me?" Liang Zichen suddenly looked up, grinning at Wang Shen with a fawning expression.

"Stop trying to evade the issue. What I mean is, even if you sometimes really dislike someone, you can't do whatever you want for various reasons." After saying that, Wang Shen sighed softly.

"Maybe so." It was unclear whether Liang Zichen agreed or disagreed with Wang Shen's point of view, but he tacitly agreed. "So, Captain Wang, what do you think is the reason that woman didn't fire that guy surnamed Han?"

“I don’t know.” Wang Shen shook his head. “However, we agree on one thing. Our impression of Han Lin doesn’t seem to be very good. But I can’t quite put my finger on what’s wrong with him, I just feel like he’s a bit strange.”

“I don’t think he’s the person he seems to be.” Just like Wang Shen said, Liang Zichen shared the same opinion. If someone is too good at pretending, they will always reveal some flaws, and these flaws are like the wolf’s tail under a sheep’s skin, making it easy for others to see that something is wrong.

Not long after, the car stopped again in front of "Zhile Cafe". Wang Shen walked into the cafe and sat in his usual spot. A waiter handed him a menu, which Wang Shen placed directly in front of Liang Zichen. "The food selection here is limited, but the coffee is pretty good, and the light meals are decent. You haven't eaten all day, so order whatever you like."

"Captain Wang, I really didn't realize you were such a sophisticated person, actually finding a place like this." Liang Zichen said, flipping through the menu while admiring the restaurant's ambiance.

Just as Liang Zichen finished ordering, a white car pulled up in front of the store. Xu Xiaolin stepped out, still impeccably made up and radiant. For successful women like her, it seems nothing in the world can break them. To put it more dramatically, there might not even be anything in the world that could stir their emotions.

Xu Xiaolin walked straight to Wang Shen and his group, and sat down opposite Wang Shen. After carefully observing Liang Zichen sitting next to Wang Shen for a few moments, Xu Xiaolin said, "Officer Wang, what brings such a handsome young man today? This young man is even more handsome than you were when you were young!"

"Really?" Wang Shen deliberately turned his gaze to Liang Zichen's face and looked at him for a few moments.

Xu Xiaolin and Wang Shen's joke made Liang Zichen feel embarrassed. Liang Zichen scratched the back of his head and said, "Beautiful lady, please don't tease me. Our boss is very stingy. If you keep saying that, I'll have to bind my feet when I get back."

After hearing Liang Zichen's words, Xu Xiaolin covered her mouth with her hand and laughed heartily. "This handsome young man really knows how to talk. Let me introduce myself, Xu Xiaolin, a suspense novelist." As she spoke, Xu Xiaolin extended her hand in front of Liang Zichen.

Liang Zichen was taken aback, then immediately shook hands with Xu Xiaolin. "You, you're that author. No wonder you look so familiar. I've seen your interview on TV, and I'm a fan of your books too," Liang Zichen said with a smile as he shook hands.

"Alright, enough with the reminiscing, let's get down to business," Wang Shen said, interrupting the small fan meeting. At that moment, the waiter brought over their coffee and light meals.

"I ordered your coffee, an Americano with one sugar," Wang Shen said to Xu Xiaolin.

"Thank you." Xu Xiaolin picked up her coffee, blew gently on the rim of the cup, and then took a sip.

"By the way, is Qi Huan's condition currently normal?" Wang Shen cut straight to the point.

"There shouldn't be any problem. I took her home, then gave her some sleeping pills and put her to sleep before coming here." Xu Xiaolin nodded and continued drinking her coffee.

"Now can you tell me how you met Qi Huan?" Wang Shen's eyes became serious, his gaze fixed on Xu Xiaolin's face.

"Actually, I met her through my sister," Xu Xiaolin said with a smile, explaining how she and Qi Huan met.

"Your sister? You mean Han Mo?" Wang Shen frowned and asked Xu Xiaolin.
