Chapter Sixty-Five: The Woman Who Stormed the Intensive Care Unit

If that's the case, someone must have disposed of Acheng's clothes beforehand and then put them back in his locker. Wang Shen checked the locker's locker locker and found no signs of tampering. If that's the case, there might be two identical keys, or Acheng's key might have been copied. Either way, the suspect is in the store. Otherwise, even if a stranger had the key, they wouldn't know Acheng's locker number, and it would be difficult for them to move freely in the restaurant's changing room undetected.

Just as Wang Shen was deep in thought, his phone rang. "Okay, I'll be right there." After receiving Liang Zichen's call, Wang Shen immediately stood up from his seat.

"Manager Han, thank you so much for your help today. My colleagues will handle the rest. I have some things to take care of, so I'll be leaving now."

"Okay, you're busy, you're busy." Han Lin exchanged a few pleasantries with Wang Shen and then saw Wang Shen out of the store.

Wang Shen drove his car at high speed to the hospital. Following the address given by Liang Zichen, he quickly found the intensive care unit.

"How is the situation?" Wang Shen ran to Liang Zichen's side and asked.

Liang Zichen's face didn't show any relief; instead, he frowned and shook his head at Wang Shen. "The situation doesn't seem too good. We just finished the emergency treatment, and the doctor is still inside. Let's ask about the situation again later."

Wang Shen nodded and stood with Liang Zichen outside the intensive care unit, looking at Acheng lying on the bed through the glass. Acheng was now wrapped up like a mummy. What was once a handsome young man had become like this in the blink of an eye. The attending physician they had seen in the store stood beside Acheng, constantly adjusting the instruments. After adjusting the instruments, the attending physician seemed to be giving instructions to a nurse nearby.

Finally, Wang Shen saw the attending physician remove his mask and walk out of the intensive care unit. Wang Shen immediately walked up to the physician and blocked his path. "Doctor, do you have time to talk to me about this patient's condition now?"

The attending physician glanced at Wang Shen, sighed, and then nodded. "Come to my office with me to talk."

Wang Shen nodded, preparing to follow the attending physician to his office. Just then, he saw a stylishly dressed woman jogging down the corridor. Her high heels clicked and clattered against the floor. The woman passed Wang Shen. He glanced at her, and a name flashed through his mind.

Sure enough, the woman ran to the door of the intensive care unit and tried to push it open to enter, but was stopped by several nurses.

"You can't go in now," the nurse said, doing her best to stop the woman.

However, the woman seemed to ignore the nurse's advice and kept trying to break free from the nurse's obstruction, attempting to rush into the intensive care unit.

"Madam, if you insist on going in now, I can't guarantee the safety of the person lying inside," the attending physician said as he walked to the woman's side.

The woman glanced at the attending physician and immediately fell silent. "Doctor, is he alright? Tell me, will he die?" she suddenly grabbed the attending physician's sleeve, her voice trembling with tears.

"What is your relationship with the patient inside?" the attending physician asked the woman in front of him.

The woman suddenly released her grip on the attending physician's hand. After a moment, she suddenly grabbed his hand again and said, "I am his fiancée, yes, I am his fiancée."

The attending physician looked at the woman in front of him, nodded, and said, "I can only tell you the actual situation. The patient's condition is not optimistic; the burn area is too large. If you ask me now whether he is in danger of death, I really can't guarantee you. The next two days are crucial; whether he can be saved depends on these two days."

"Doctor, you must save him. I'm willing to pay any price," the woman pleaded, looking into the attending physician's eyes.

"We will do our best, but please cooperate with our work," the attending physician replied with a nod.

"I will." The woman released the attending physician's hand, walked to the observation window, looked at Acheng lying on the bed, then covered her mouth and choked up softly.

After a few minutes, Wang Shen walked up to the woman. "Hello, are you Qi Huan, the owner of 'Spicy Restaurant'?"

Upon hearing Wang Shen's words, the woman looked up at him with red eyes and then nodded.

Wang Shen placed his police ID in front of Qi Huan and showed it to her. "Coincidentally, I was in your shop when this accident happened today. I can say that I witnessed what happened."

After Wang Shen finished speaking, Qi Huan turned her entire body towards him.

Wang Shen thought for a moment and then said, "I know a little about your relationship with Acheng. So, regarding this incident, although I don't have enough evidence yet, I can share some of the clues and conclusions I've gathered with you." Before saying this, Wang Shen weighed the pros and cons carefully. In the end, based on what Wang Shen had seen, he believed that there was love between Qi Huan and Acheng.

“I don’t believe this fire was a simple accident.” After saying that, Wang Shen paused, carefully observing Qi Huan’s facial expression. Qi Huan stared at Wang Shen with wide eyes, her expression a mixture of surprise, panic, and then a barely concealed anger.

“I think this fire was arson. So, I’d like to ask, based on your understanding of A-Cheng, does he have any grudges against anyone?” Wang Shen’s gaze remained fixed on Qi Huan’s face.

After listening to Wang Shen's words, Qi Huan stared blankly for a while, seemingly considering something. Then, a tear rolled down her cheek. Qi Huan immediately wiped the tear from her cheek and turned to look at Acheng lying in the glass window. "No, Acheng is a very good person. He never gets into conflicts with others."

“But now that he’s become like this, even if he survives, he still…” Liang Zichen suddenly stepped out from beside Wang Shen and looked at Acheng through the glass window as well.

Before Liang Zichen could finish his last sentence, Qi Huan glared at him angrily. Liang Zichen waved his hand and slapped his mouth, slightly calming Qi Huan's anger. "No matter what he becomes, I will not leave him," Qi Huan said, clenching her fist and tapping it twice on the windowpane.

Actually, Liang Zichen said those words intentionally. Liang Zichen and Wang Shen had the same goal: to confirm the feelings between the two. Now it seems there is indeed affection between Acheng and Qi Huan.
