Chapter 24 Exchange of Materials

Chapter 24 Exchange of Materials

In the early morning, sunlight shines through the window onto the tender green vegetable seedlings. Jiang Xianchuan holds a watering can and waters them carefully.

Jiang Xianchuan suddenly caught a glimpse of an arrow lying in the corner of the balcony with a piece of paper tied to the arrow head.

Jiang Xianchuan walked over doubtfully and picked up the arrow carefully. His brows were full of confusion. He unrolled the note and examined it carefully.

The note was written in black handwriting: "Can I trade supplies with you? If possible, please hang a white dress on the balcony."

Jiang Xianchuan looked at the contents of the note and thought that this might be an interesting opportunity, perhaps it was that mysterious person.

He told Shi Yi and Li Lingyu about this situation. The three of them sat in the living room and discussed the mysterious note.

After some discussion, they decided to hang a white dress on the balcony as requested on the note and see what would happen next.

Not long after, the doorbell rang.

Jiang Xianchuan opened the door and saw a man wearing a green sprint jacket, a baseball cap and a bow and arrow on his back standing outside.

The man said, "Thank you very much for trusting me. I would like to exchange some medicine for your seeds. Is that okay?"

Jiang Xianchuan looked at the man in front of him and asked, "What kind of medicine is it? Can I take a look?"

The man rummaged through his bag, took out a box of ibuprofen and handed it to Jiang Xianchuan. Jiang Xianchuan carefully checked the quantity and expiration date of the medicine, then glanced at Shi Yi.

Shi Yi understood what he meant and immediately took out a bag of seeds and handed it to the man.

"Thank you." The man was about to leave when he heard a shout from behind. He turned around and saw Jiang Xianchuan looking at him with a puzzled look.

"Were you the one who shot the zombie baby with an arrow that day?" Jiang Xianchuan asked.

The man nodded, his tone calm: "Yes."

Jiang Xianchuan was somewhat grateful, but more curious: "Thank you, but why are you helping us?"

The man pondered for a while, then said seriously: "It's just a matter of convenience, don't take it to heart. Also, thank you for your trust in me. I have to go, goodbye." After that, he turned and left, his figure gradually disappeared from sight.

Jiang Xianchuan looked at the direction the man left, and an inexplicable feeling surged in his heart.

Who is this mysterious man? Why is he here? And why does he want to help them? These questions trouble Jiang Xianchuan and make him confused.

Shi Yi seemed to see through Jiang Xianchuan's inner doubts, but he did not point them out. He just said calmly: "Don't think about things you can't figure out. At least for now, the other party has not shown any hostility."

Jiang Xianchuan nodded in agreement. He also realized that dwelling too much on these issues might cause him endless trouble.

Instead, focus on more important things.

So Jiang Xianchuan turned around and walked to the window, staring quietly at the zombies downstairs.

Their every move attracted his attention, as if he was studying an unknown biological community.

Through the window, Jiang Xianchuan could clearly see the zombies' movement tracks and behavior patterns.

Some zombies wander aimlessly, some gather together and make low roars. Some zombies suddenly rush in a certain direction, then suddenly stop and continue wandering.

Jiang Xianchuan observed all this attentively, trying to find some patterns or clues from it. He knew that understanding the habits of zombies was crucial to survival.

Only by understanding their behavior can we better deal with possible dangers.
