Chapter 22 Beating Cao Xinchun

Cao Guihua passed by and immediately saw the gruesome sight of the pig's head. She screamed, "Oh my god! You scared me to death! Wanwan, how could you be so rough with a young lady like you? How could you do something like this? You're terrifying!"

Yang Wanwan raised her eyes and glanced at her lightly.

Cao Guihua simply put down the hoe in her hand and sat down next to Yang Wanwan. "This stuff is hard to handle. I'd like to see how you do it. Your uncle loves to eat pig's head meat, but I don't know how to cook it."

Yang Wanwan knew she was trying to take advantage of her, so she ignored her, raised her axe and swung it once more, splitting the pig's head open again, splattering blood all over Cao Guihua's face.

Cao Guihua made a big fuss and stood far away.

Yang Wanwan pretended not to see or hear Cao Guihua's complaints, and kept raising her axe to chop the pig's head. After doing this three times, the pig's head was finally divided into several pieces by Yang Wanwan.

Seeing that Yang Wanwan had finished dividing the meat, Er Ye and Shang Tao came up and picked it up to wash it, while Yang Wanwan continued to chop the second pig's head.

The three siblings worked quickly and efficiently, and soon washed the pig's head clean.

Upon hearing that the two pig heads cost a total of twenty-odd yuan, Cao Guihua exclaimed, "These two bowls of pig head meat must weigh over thirty jin! Pork is three yuan a jin, and you bought this for just over twenty yuan, that's such a bargain!"

Isn't that a great deal?

However, preparing a pig's head is quite difficult, requiring a considerable amount of time and effort. Therefore, many people don't actually buy it to eat.

Cao Xinchun said, "This is such a good deal, can you weigh some for me? We're all from the same village, so your price has to be fair."

Yang Wanwan glanced at her, smiled, and said nothing.

Seeing that it was already completely dark, Cao Guihua knew that she wouldn't be able to eat the pig's head no matter how hard she tried, so she had no choice but to go home.

After cleaning the two pig heads, the three siblings put them into a large pot and began to braise them.

The fire on the stove never went out. Water and seasonings were already prepared, and pieces of pig's head meat were put in one by one, making the fire blaze up.

During this time, Yang Wanwan also put the pig's head meat from her spatial storage into the space.

Yang Wanwan left a piece of pig's ear, cut it into small pieces, and stir-fried it with chili peppers and garlic. The three of them then began to eat dinner.

The fresh pig ears were very crispy, and Shang Tao ate them with a beaming smile, "Big sister, so delicious!"

Er Ye said, "Sister, have you noticed that Shang Tao and I have been eating well lately, with lots of oily and greasy food, and we've grown a lot taller! Oh, right, Pan the Mute has too."

Yang Wanwan nodded. Er Ye and Shang Tao's clothes were obviously too short. She should buy them each a new outfit tomorrow.

After the three siblings finished eating, doing their homework, and taking a shower, and were about to go upstairs to sleep, the pig's head was already about 50-60% cooked. Yang Wanwan told her yawning younger siblings to go to sleep, while she stayed behind to watch the fire.

Yang Wanwan took out a bundle of rice noodles and soaked it in cold water; she could eat it tomorrow morning.

The next morning at 5:30, Yang Wanwan got up and went to check on the braised pig's head. It was indeed tender and perfectly cooked, with a just-right flavor. She filled a bowl with the pig's head and broth and asked Erye to serve it to her grandparents to try.

They took out all the meat and drained it. They ladled out three large bowls of the remaining broth, added rice noodles, sprinkled on chopped green onions, and it was just the right time for Er Ye and Shang Tao, who was feeding the pigs, to come back and eat.

The people of Fuxing Reservoir Village generally don't grow coriander or eat sesame oil, but even their simple scallion rice noodles are so fragrant that Er Ye and Shang Tao each ate two large bowls.

Yang Wanwan then asked Shang Tao to prepare a large bowl of rice noodles for Pan the mute. Just as the noodles were being filled and placed in a bucket and covered with a bag, Cao Xinchun arrived.

Cao Guihua rushed to Cao Xinchun's house early in the morning and told her about Yang Wanwan and her brother's braised pig's head.

Cao Xinchun had long harbored resentment over Yang Wanwan and her brother selling cold dishes but never giving any to their own family. He was already itching to get his hands on some, and when he heard that they even had pig's head meat, he couldn't resist any longer.

"Oh, your grandparents are so biased! They spent money to buy you pig's head meat again. How can you siblings be so unfilial? How can you eat that? That's all your grandfather's hard-earned money, his retirement money!"

As he said this, Cao Xinchun reached out and picked up a piece of pig's head meat.

Ever since she tricked Yang Dali away that day, Yang Wanwan had no intention of being a docile person anymore.

Isn't everyone saying that the siblings are ungrateful?

Then I'll just call him an ingrate.

In another year or two, who cares if you're ungrateful or not? As long as you have money, money is king.

Furthermore, now that Yang Wanwan had her own space, she was no longer so afraid of Yang Dali and his wife's underhanded tactics. So, she reached out and slapped them—"Smack!"

Cao Xinchun's hand stung terribly from the blow, feeling as if it had been whipped with a bamboo sliver. She jumped up immediately, crying out, "Ouch! That hurts so much!"

Yang Wanwan gave a mocking laugh, "Auntie, I just saw a thief stealing our pig's head meat, so I couldn't help but hit him. Auntie, you know, thieves these days are really disgusting, daring to steal things right in front of us siblings!"

Cao Xinchun never expected that Yang Wanwan would dare to hit her and even call her a thief!

She was furious. Without thinking, she slapped Yang Wanwan across the face: "Who are you calling a thief? You beast!"

Yang Wanwan suddenly had several bamboo strips in her hand. She pointed the bamboo strips at Cao Xinchun's hand, and Cao Xinchun's hand plunged into the bamboo strips.

Suddenly, some fine strips of bamboo pierced Cao Xinchun's palms and fingers!

That hurt so much!

It hurts three times more than being whipped with bamboo strips!

"Ouch! You brat! How dare you hit me! I'll beat you all to death today, or I'm not a Cao!"

Cao Xinchun's eyes were bloodshot, and he swung his fat, round arm at Shang Tao, who was not far away.

She knew that Yang Wanwan was tall and that she might not be able to beat Yang Wanwan in a fight, so she chose to target the smallest and thinnest Shang Tao.
