Chapter 163 Script Revision

Yin Chengjue sat in a chair, crossed his legs, and folded his hands.

"You didn't finish your sentence, did you?" Yin Chengjue looked down at the thief who was tied up and sitting on the ground.

Yin Chengjue: "There were too many people around earlier, so it wasn't appropriate to ask some questions. Now it's just you and me. If you tell me who chased after the crew and tipped them off, I'll let you go."

Upon hearing this, the man's eyes lit up: "Really?"

Yin Chengjue nodded: "Really."

The man's eyes darted around: "You're not lying to me, are you? Lying has consequences!"

Yin Chengjue did not give a direct answer, but said expressionlessly, "I think you should understand your place now, because you only have two choices: tell us who informed on you, or I will send you to the police station. In any case, you stole our crew's things and deliberately delayed our filming schedule."

Upon hearing the words "police station," a flicker of panic crossed the man's eyes, which he quickly masked, feigning composure as he scoffed, "If you're trying to threaten me into paying you, I'll have to go to the hospital for a medical examination! Look at all these injuries I'm covered in! The medical bills you'll have to pay will definitely be more than the money I stole from the clothes!"

After saying that, the thief seemed to think he had a point and immediately became righteous: "Go ahead! Hurry up and take me in! I'll sue you until you're bankrupt! You actors, if news spreads that you assaulted someone, you'll definitely be in big trouble!"

Yin Chengjue raised his eyebrows slightly, put his feet down, and stood up from the chair.

The room that had been cleared out was rather small, with only one window, which was behind Yin Chengjue. When Yin Chengjue stood up, his tall figure blocked out a large portion of the light, casting a shadow on the clothes thief.

Yin Chengjue strode towards the clothes thief with his long legs, his fists pounding loudly.

"What, what are you going to do?"

Yin Chengjue cracked his neck: "It's nothing. I've never seen anyone have such a need. You want to injure me? I'll grant your wish!"

Clothes thief: !!!

However, when Yin Chengjue grabbed the man's clothes and pulled him up, he noticed with his sharp eyes that the thief who had looked bruised and battered from the outside was now only a little dirty, with no trace of the bruises.

Yin Chengjue was stunned. He tore open the man's clothes and looked at him. There was no sign of serious injury.

Yin Chengjue then threw the person to the ground. "It seems you won't be able to extort this medical fee. What a pity."

The thief clearly noticed this as well, and his expression changed slightly.

As Yin Chengjue threw the garment, the thief fell to the ground, hitting some wound and letting out another cry of pain.

"Stop pretending. There's no injury at all. I think you're doing this on purpose. Since you don't want to talk, I won't force you. Anyway, you're here. Do you think I'm worried about not finding the mole?" Yin Chengjue smiled slightly. "Let's see who will be the first to lose patience and come in to save you."

Yin Chengjue left the room where the clothes thief was locked up and ordered someone to keep watch outside, adding anyone who tried to approach to the list of suspects.

After settling things over here, Sally arrived. Actually, she had already been outside the filming location for a while, but was delayed by some uncontrollable factors.

Seeing Sally's hair all messed up, her clothes out of shape, and her white shoes covered in footprints, Yin Chengjue felt a rare pang of sympathy and handed her a pack of wet wipes.

Although Sally looked disheveled, she was actually in good spirits, even looking radiant and full of energy.

"Oh my god! He's so handsome! He's definitely the best!" Sally said, her hands clasped in prayer.

Yin Chengjue even felt that he could read the words "a young girl in love" in her eyes.

Yin Chengjue silently twisted open a bottle of mineral water, poured a little into his palm, and leaned in to wash his eyes.

After finishing her "love budding," Sally, who happened to witness this scene, asked: "...Mr. Yin, can you tell me what you're doing?"

Yin Chengjue pulled out a tissue and slowly wiped the water off his hands, saying in a nonchalant tone, "Can't you tell? I'm wiping my hands."

Sally: "..." The look you gave me just now clearly showed that you disliked me!

In the past, Sally would have been too lazy to argue with Yin Chengjue. In her eyes, Yin Chengjue was just a little kid she had watched grow up, not worth her time. But now, she felt it necessary to defend her idol: "Hey Yin, don't think you can get away with anything just because you're a little bit handsome and have a slightly higher face value! Let me tell you! My idol, Dong Ge, has the highest face value in this industry. Even if you stand next to him, you'll just be an extra!"

Yin Chengjue: "..." Did I just say anything that slandered your idol?

Sally started swooning again as she spoke: "I just saw Dong-ge! He smiled at me through the vast crowd! He smiled at me! You wouldn't believe it, his physique, his captivating eyes, his flowing long hair... Oh my god, my heart was pounding!"

Yin Chengjue: "...I heard he came fully armed today, how could you recognize him like that?"

Sally glared at Yin Chengjue: "What do you know? Even if Dong Ge were turned to ashes, I could still recognize him by his scent, let alone being fully armed!"

Yin Chengjue: "..." Why does this sound so familiar?

"And you wouldn't believe it, Dong-ge came with two kids today, one in each arm. Honghong and Baibai are both wearing little sunglasses today, they're so cute!" Sally said again, clutching her heart. "And Dong-sao's outfit today is so stylish too! They're such a perfect match! Ah! I'm so happy! This love is so damn sweet!"

Yin Chengjue: "...Are you done? What about the thing I asked you to investigate?"

Sally: "...Is this how you talk to a lady? No wonder you've had this face for so many years and there's never been a flower or a plant around you."

Yin Chengjue: "..." You're a fan of celebrities, so why attack me personally?

Sally opened her bag, pulled out a file folder, and slapped it directly at Yin Chengjue. Yin Chengjue had to grab it to prevent it from falling to the ground.

"Hmph! I'm not going to put up with your nonsense anymore. I'd rather watch Xiaoyu act."

Sally walked away in her high heels. Yin Chengjue held the document in silence for a moment, then took out his phone, looked at his face carefully, and searched for a picture of Donghuang Qingyan on Baidu.

"Is he really more handsome than me?" Yin Chengjue's gaze was scrutinizing as he flipped through several photos, muttering, "With that white hair of his?"

"What white hair?" A familiar voice came from behind. Yin Chengjue's expression softened involuntarily as he turned around and asked, "Is your scene over?"

Rong Yu's gaze swept over Yin Chengjue's phone screen: "What are you looking at, brother?"

Yin Chengjue then handed his phone screen to Rong Yu: "Someone just told me that this guy is more handsome than me, what do you think?"

Rong Yu replied without hesitation, "Of course, my brother is the most handsome."

Yin Chengjue's mood instantly improved: "Mm."

"By the way, brother, did that person confess? Is it really true that there's a mole among us?" Rong Yu asked curiously.

Mentioning this, Yin Chengjue's face darkened: "Actually, it's not necessarily true, because when artists are notified of auditions, their managers and assistants, as well as people close to the artists, may all have access to them."

Rong Yu: "Then what should we do? Won't this make it even harder to find them?"

Yin Chengjue rubbed his temples: "Let's blow them up first. If we can get them out, that would be great. If not, we'll just have to rewrite the script."

"Rewrite the script?"

"Well, now that the pursuit team already knows, it's hard to guarantee they won't leak it to others, especially those marketing accounts. They might not have released the script publicly yet because they're waiting until we finish filming and it's close to the release date to catch us off guard. By then, it will be too late to revise the script and reshoot."

Rong Yu: "But how do you plan to change it? If we can't find the mole, no matter how much we change it, the pursuit team will still find out."

Yin Chengjue: "I will discuss this with Director Mo. Filming can continue, but the scripts that everyone received will not be complete. They will only contain his own lines and story background, and the filming order will be completely shuffled before being edited out in post-production."

Rong Yu was shocked: "You can do that? Doesn't that mean even the actors don't know what they're acting out?"

Yin Chengjue smiled: "Doesn't this make it more mysterious?"

Without further ado, after discussing it with Director Mo, Yin Chengjue immediately informed the actors that because the script had been leaked, the screenwriter needed to revise it temporarily. Everyone was to go home and rest for a day, and the revised script would be sent back to them later.

After all, the situation was what it was, and the actors and staff didn't have any objections.

The thief locked in that room wouldn't confess, and Yin Chengjue didn't press him. He simply sent him to the police station. Director Mo seized the opportunity and added, "This was sent to you by Mr. Xi."

The two police officers holding the clothes thief were taken aback. Their gazes toward the thief became more scrutinizing, and one of them immediately said, "Okay, we understand."

With only one day to prepare, Yin Chengjue immediately threw himself into the massive project of revising the script after returning home.

In fact, for any other type of script, there's no need to be so cautious, changing even the slightest leak. But this is a suspenseful supernatural film, a movie that needs to compete for box office and ratings, so it naturally needs to be more rigorous. Otherwise, if the mystery is lost, the audience's viewing experience will definitely decline significantly, and the viewing angle will shift from the plot to the actors' looks or other aspects. The audience is also likely to be more fans who came for their idols, rather than viewers who are genuinely interested in the film.

Yin Chengjue sat in front of the computer, repeatedly deleting and revising the script, and finally managed to hand it over to Director Mo before the next day.
