Chapter 192 Goodbye

While Rong Yu was untying Yang Ji's ropes, Hua Yun had already walked around the room and quickly found a piece of paper with numbers written on it.

The numbers were printed out, all different sizes, and arranged haphazardly, making it impossible to discern their purpose.

"Is this the password for this door? Although it's no longer valid."

"Keep it for now, it might come in handy." Hua Yun put the paper away first.

"Speaking of which, we must have been injected with some kind of drug or something, right? Will that have any effects?" Rong Yu said as she searched the room, and finally picked up the chair that she had been tied to and flipped it over.

And just by flipping through it, the three of them saw numbers written in red paint under the chair.

The number under the chair where Rong Yu is tied is 1, the number under the chair where Hua Yun is tied is 2, and the number under the chair where Yang Ji is tied is 3.

"Could this be some kind of clue?" Yang Ji stroked his chin. "Should we hide the chair?"

Hua Yun: "If we're unsure whether these numbers are useful to us, we can swap these three chairs with the ones piled up in the corner of the room. That way, when we meet the six of them, we can conceal this information, and they'll have a hard time guessing that there are numbers under the chairs we're sitting on."

Yang Ji couldn't help but give Hua Yun a thumbs up: "Young Master Hua is very experienced!"

Rong Yu: "Then we label the other chairs with numbers. If they find the numbers under the chairs, they won't match the numbers we're actually sitting on."

Hua Yun gave an approving look: "Okay."

The three of them immediately got to work, numbering the bottom of all the chairs in the room, then piling the original three chairs into a corner, and taking out three more chairs marked with other numbers and putting them back in their original positions.

After doing all this, the three of them pushed open the door and left the room.

Outside was a large hall; it turned out that what they had just been in was just one of the small rooms within that hall.

This is a circular hall with a transparent elevator in the center. On the wall opposite the room, there are four huge screens, and above the screens, more than a dozen dynamic videos are displayed.

This is clearly a surveillance screen!

The screen was black and white. At first, the three of them thought it was a problem with the equipment, but upon closer inspection, they realized that it was because the lights in the area being monitored were not on!

In several of the shots, figures walk by, and it appears there are quite a few people.

"Hey! Aren't those the six people who went missing? Should we go and meet up with them now?" Yang Ji immediately recognized one of the people in the surveillance footage as his old partner, Liu Qingling.

Hua Yun: "First of all, we need to know where we are now, otherwise even if we are watching the surveillance cameras, we will just be running around blindly."

The hall is circular, and there is a door at regular intervals around it. One of these doors leads to the room they just came from, meaning that behind these closed doors are most likely rooms.

Based on this, the transparent elevator in the middle of the hall is likely the only way to leave this space.

However, the transparent door of this elevator was locked. The lock was a digital lock with four numbers that could be rotated.

The three of them simultaneously thought of the piece of paper that Hua Yun had found earlier.

However, although there were many numbers on the paper, the size and layout of the numbers were different, so it was impossible to see anything special about them.

“What’s missing?” Rong Yu walked around the transparent elevator. When his gaze swept over the stickers on the transparent partition for the fifth time, he suddenly thought of something and his eyes lit up. He called to Hua Yun, “Young Master Hua, press the piece of paper in your hand here and see. These stickers seem to form a square shape, the same size as the piece of paper in your hand.”

Hua Yun did as instructed, turning the white paper over and placing it inside the squares where the stickers were empty.

Rong Yu immediately walked to the other side and saw that there were four circular stickers pasted inside the transparent partition. At first glance, they didn't seem unusual, but when Hua Yun pressed the card with the numbers written on it, the circular stickers matched four of the numbers on the white paper.

Rong Yu read out the four numbers from top to bottom, while Yang Ji picked up the number lock, moved the four numbers into their respective positions, and then pulled the lock down!

"Click!" The digital lock opened instantly, and Yang Ji exclaimed with delight, "Wow! This unlocking speed is amazing! If we were on the escape route, we could definitely win in one fell swoop! The lock opens so fast!"

Rong Yu: "..." This is a really difficult question to answer, as it could easily reveal my identity...

As they were talking, Yang Ji had already opened the transparent isolation door of the elevator. He had just stepped inside when he heard a "beep!" sound!

Immediately afterwards, the entire hall suddenly began to flash red light intermittently, accompanied by a series of "beep beep beep" sounds!

The rhythmic sound, combined with the flashing red light, easily created a sense of urgency. The three looked at each other, and Yang Ji quickly withdrew the foot that had already stepped into the elevator, looking around nervously.

"What's going on? What's going on? Why did it ring? Did I just bump into something?" As soon as Yang Ji finished speaking, he saw all the other doors in the hall open at the same time!

At the same time, strange low growls came from the open rooms!

Hua Yun made a decisive decision: "Go in!"

Yang Ji: "Huh? Go where? Back to the same room?"

Before the word "ma" had even finished, Rong Yu and Hua Yun had already grabbed Yang Ji with their left and right hands and dragged him into the elevator, while simultaneously pressing the close button on the elevator door!

"What?! What's going on?! Why are we coming in?! Won't the alarm go off if we step inside?" Yang Ji was completely confused until he saw the "people" coming out of the rooms, at which point he let out a terrified scream: "Holy crap! What are they?!"

From the open rooms came roars and screams of "people"—humans with deformed horns on their heads, pale faces, bloodshot eyes, and mouths full of sharp fangs!

Upon seeing the three people still inside the elevator, these "people" immediately let out an even louder shout and rushed towards them at lightning speed!

Yang Ji: "Ahhh! Don't come any closer! Quick, quick, press the close button!"

Rong Yu's expression was serious: "I've been pressing the button since just now, but the door won't close."

Just as they were talking, the horned monsters had already rushed to the outside of the transparent elevator. Fortunately, Rong Yu had closed the door when she came in, preventing them from rushing onto the elevator.

But this is clearly not a long-term solution. If the elevator can't go down, it means they'll have to stand here facing these weirdos.

Moreover... that transparent barrier didn't seem very sturdy either. When so many strange people pounced on it at the same time, it immediately started to creak and groan under the strain.

Yang Ji immediately shouted, "You guys don't need to push yourselves so hard! If you break the props, you'll have to pay for them!"

Upon hearing this, the strange men visibly paused, and one of them whispered, "The director said we don't have to pay for this."

The other weirdos instantly seemed to have received a license, howling even louder as they desperately tried to squeeze into the elevator!

The elevator still wouldn't move, so Hua Yun immediately started looking around to find the cause. Rong Yu took the initiative to hold up the transparent partition and pushed the door back in place, which had almost been forced open by the strange group.

Yang Ji quickly came over to help Rong Yu hold the door open, while his mouth kept running: "What are you doing! Why are you pushing so hard! That's enough! My old arms and legs are so weak! Can't you guys be a little more considerate? Just give it a little push, and the rest is up to our acting skills!"

The strange men completely ignored Yang Ji's intentions, pushing the door open with all their might!

Rong Yu watched them excitedly crowding towards the door, then her eyes darted around, and she suddenly took a half-step back.

Yang Ji's strength alone was indeed insufficient to withstand the attack, and the transparent isolation door was pushed open more than halfway in an instant!

Yang Ji let out a piercing scream: "Ahhh!"

The first strange man, who had been pushed in halfway, was met with Yang Ji's devilish high-pitched voice and instinctively covered his ears.

At the same time, Rong Yu took half a step back and then slammed her back against the transparent door with a loud bang, sending it crashing back into the room once again!

As a result, the strange men closest to the door were immediately knocked back a few steps by the force of the impact. Those who were able to stand up at first accidentally stepped on the feet of the people behind them, causing them to lose their balance and fall backward!

When the people in front fell, those behind naturally couldn't escape either, and a large number of them collapsed in an instant!

Hua Yun's voice rang out at this moment: "Found it! There's a rapid-fire recitation here, Teacher Yang, that's your forte."

Yang Ji readily agreed: "I'll treat you to steamed lamb, steamed bear's paw, steamed deer tail, roast duck, roast chicken, roast goose, braised salted duck... a special hot pot, a chrysanthemum hot pot, and a mixed stew hot pot!"

"Ding!" As Yang Ji finished speaking the last word, a green light came on inside the elevator, and at the same time, the elevator door slowly closed.

With an extra door, it felt like an extra layer of protection. Yang Ji looked at the strange people who had gotten up from the ground again and pounced on the transparent isolation door once more, and felt much more confident.

"Goodbye! The three of us are setting sail now! See you all again, hehehe!"
