Chapter 91 I've Got You

What lay quietly in Rong Yu's hand was a red maple leaf folded into the shape of a heart!

“Brother, do you know? Red maple leaves symbolize endless longing.” Rong Yu picked up the heart folded from the maple leaf with her fingertips, looked directly into Yin Chengjue’s eyes, and said earnestly, “I folded it into the shape of a heart, which is to put my longing into this heart.”

“Now, I give you my heart.” Rong Yu said, placing the heart made of red maple leaves into the left breast pocket of Yin Chengjue’s tuxedo—the closest place to Yin Chengjue’s heart.

"Brother, you must take good care of it," Rong Yu said gently with a smile.

“Okay!” Yin Chengjue pressed the spot where the maple leaf had fallen into his pocket and replied earnestly.

The wind blows through the maple forest, and red leaves flutter down, landing on our shoulders and bodies. Our eyes meet, and our gazes linger.

Yin Chengjue felt a rare peace in his heart, like a feather gently brushing against him, warm and comforting, making him feel extremely at ease.

"Giggle giggle..." Just then, a string of silvery laughter rang out, like children playing.

The two reluctantly looked away and followed the sound, just in time to see a little boy in a white trench coat running towards them, followed by another little boy in a red hoodie.

"Brother! Stop right there!"

"Hehehe, if you tell me to stop, I'll stop. That would be so embarrassing! Ouch!" The boy in the white windbreaker who was running ahead didn't pay attention to where he was going and bumped into Yin Chengjue's leg, then fell to the ground with a thud.

"I'm sorry, big brother, I didn't mean to." The little boy in the white trench coat quickly patted his bottom, stood up, and bowed his head to apologize to Yin Chengjue.

"It's okay, just don't run so fast next time. Look, even your younger brother can't catch up with you," Yin Chengjue said.

"Dad made me run. Honghong is too slow; she needs more exercise." The boy in the white trench coat pointed behind him, while the boy in the red hoodie, who had caught up, lay down at his feet, clearly panting heavily. He complained breathlessly, "But you didn't have to... run for so long!"

Rong Yu's gaze suddenly became fixed on the boy who was lying on the ground panting heavily, carefully observing his every move.

"Run this last lap!" The boy in the white trench coat was clearly a very strict older brother. He waved to the boy in the red hoodie and ran off in another direction.

"Wait for me, brother!" The boy in the red hoodie had no choice but to quickly get up and stumble after him.

They waddled away, their little bottoms swaying. When Yin Chengjue looked back at Rong Yu, he saw her resting her chin on her hand, looking thoughtful.

"What's wrong?" Yin Chengjue asked.

"Brother!" Rong Yu suddenly slammed his fist down: "Why don't you run, and I'll chase you!"

Rong Yu looked excited, as if she had figured something out: "Didn't Director Chen just say that I should run until I was tired before reshooting Wu Xiaoqing's scene? So, now, I'm chasing after my brother!"

Yin Chengjue: "..." I must be crazy to agree to this!

Ten minutes later, Yin Chengjue looked speechlessly at himself, who had already rolled up his sleeves and was running wildly through the maple forest...

He felt that he must be controlled by something strange to play such a weird and childish game!

Yes, there's also a hidden sense of pride at play!

Why?

Why can Rong Yu run so fast!

This is not scientific!

Just then, Rong Yu's voice came from behind: "Brother~ I caught up with you again~"

Yin Chengjue suddenly exerted force with his feet, widening the distance between himself and Rong Yu once again!

After running for a while, Yin Chengjue heard the footsteps behind him getting fainter and fainter. He turned around in confusion, only to find that there was no one behind him. The figure that had been following him closely was gone.

Yin Chengjue's heart pounded, and he immediately looked around, but all he could see were large patches of red maple leaves, and not a single person in sight!

"Rong Yu?" Yin Chengjue suddenly regretted it. Actually, being caught up with wasn't a big deal. Knowing that this was just a childish game, why did he have to take it so seriously?

The maple forest is so big, and there are so many leaves piled up on the ground. Could there be some potholes on the road that Rong Yu stepped into and slipped?

As Yin Chengjue walked back, various thoughts kept swirling in his mind. Adding to this, the drama he was currently filming, "Blood Mist," also featured a similar disappearance plot, and all those who went missing in the maple forest met with misfortune…

Yin Chengjue rubbed his temples, trying to stop himself from overthinking.

Perhaps Rong Yu simply wasn't paying attention and went the wrong way, failing to keep up?

"Rong Yu! Where are you?"

"Whoosh..." Just then, a strange sound suddenly came from the top of the tree. Yin Chengjue looked up sharply and saw a red figure swinging down!

Yin Chengjue subconsciously took a half step back, but felt a weight on his shoulder, and then something slammed into his lips!

Yin Chengjue was thrown backward by inertia and crashed into the tree trunk behind him, his mind blank for a moment.

But soon he realized what had happened, and all he felt was helplessness.

Yin Chengjue raised his hands and supported this unconventional guy to prevent him from falling off the tree because he wasn't holding onto the branch properly.

It was a very deep kiss.

Yin Chengjue could smell the blood.

It was sweet and pungent, moist, and lingering.

Yin Chengjue's gaze fell upon the bobbing Adam's apple and the pulse rising and falling beneath the fair skin.

Such a fragile and tender place was right in front of him, as if it would crumble at the slightest touch, yet the other person had exposed themselves to him so completely without any defenses, giving him their complete trust.

Yin Chengjue gently patted the other person's hand on his shoulder.

The other person immediately understood his idea, and put all their strength on him, holding his shoulders with both hands, hooking their feet on the tree trunk, and slowly "walking" down.

Yin Chengjue moved slightly away from the tree trunk so that the other person could easily climb onto his back.

"Don't do such dangerous things again," Yin Chengjue said, turning to the person who was already clinging to his back like a koala.

“It’s not dangerous at all. I used to climb trees with my older brothers all the time, and I was always the fastest and tallest one.” Rong Yu rested her chin on Yin Chengjue’s shoulder, her expression revealing a hint of pride. “My legs are so tight that I can climb even the smoothest tree!”

Yin Chengjue: "Next time, think carefully about your words before you speak."

Rong Yu looked innocent: "Hmm?"

Yin Chengjue: "Sigh, never mind."

"Brother~" Rong Yu suddenly tightened her grip on Yin Chengjue's neck, leaned close to Yin Chengjue's ear, and whispered, "So now, do I consider myself to have caught you, brother?"

Yin Chengjue was pulled back a little by him and quickly said, "Careful!" He then used both hands to support Rong Yu's buttocks and lifted him up before saying, "Okay, okay, next time don't suddenly disappear. I'll think you took the wrong path or fell somewhere and cried in pain."

Rong Yu laughed happily: "Great, I caught my brother."

“I’m not going to let go now that I’ve caught you,” Rong Yu murmured softly.

"What?" Yin Chengjue didn't hear Rong Yu's last sentence clearly.

"Nothing. By the way, brother, there's someone hiding behind that tree over there for a long time. Should we call him out?"

As Rong Yu spoke, she pointed to a maple tree not far away.

Yin Chengjue was startled and instinctively reached out a hand to cover Rong Yu's face.

"Um...you don't need to be nervous, I was just passing by, just passing by..." A handsome face peeked out from behind the tree.

The man seemed to feel there was no need to hide any longer and stepped out.

The man was dressed in a jade-white robe, the hem of which was embroidered with large golden-red maple leaves. The distribution of the colors, shades and tones, was so precise that the maple leaves looked almost real.

The man had one hand behind his back and the other holding a folding fan. He didn't open the fan but twirled it between his fingers, looking somewhat flippant. His gaze towards them also carried a hint of mockery.

"You two don't need to look at me so warily. I'm not interested in any gossip. I just wanted to ask if you've seen my two naughty kids, one dressed in white and the other in red. If I'm not mistaken, the one in red is chasing the one in white," the man in the long robe asked with a smile.

Yin Chengjue looked the man up and down, and after a moment's recollection, he realized that the two children's features did indeed resemble the man in front of him.

"They should still be in this maple forest, but we don't know which direction they ran in. We've walked for quite a while now," Rong Yu replied.

"Thank you very much. Since you two saw it, you probably didn't run very far." The man bowed to them in thanks.

The man exuded an elegant air in every move, making him seem as if he had stepped out of another era, which made Yin Chengjue feel strange.

"Oh, by the way, since we've met by chance, how about I tell your fortunes?" The man was about to leave when he suddenly seemed to remember something, and asked with a smile.

Was he a fraud?

Yin Chengjue couldn't help but frown.

“I don’t believe in fate,” Rong Yu said.

Yin Chengjue glanced at Rong Yu and said, "I don't believe it either." In Yin Chengjue's view, the future was in his own hands.

Man: "Then... shall I tell you two your marriage compatibility?"

The two said, "Then let's call it a day."

"Pfft!" The man chuckled, and with a "whoosh," he unfolded his folding fan, hiding his overly exaggerated expression.

Yin Chengjue: "..." I want to hit someone.

Rong Yu: "..." His account is gone.

"Haha, please don't mind me, I just suddenly realized that there's nothing to calculate anymore, because I'm sure you two can overcome all gossip and societal judgment, and grow old together hand in hand," the man said with a smile.

The 40-meter-long sword, which had been raised high, was gently lowered, and Yin Chengjue's expression brightened: "Thank you for your kind words."

"Daddy! We found Daddy! Daddy's over there!" A sweet, childlike voice came from not far away. Yin Chengjue looked in the direction of the voice and saw the two children, one dressed in red and the other in white, leading a tall man over.
