Chapter 4 Illegitimate Child

So when Yin Chengjue was released from prison due to insufficient evidence, he was faced with a Yin family riddled with problems, and... the death of his mother.

Now Yin Chengjue understood everything. This series of meticulously planned schemes, each linked to the next, must have been premeditated. And those who profited from it were either the murderer or an accomplice.

Filled with hatred, Yin Chengjue wanted to settle scores with Feng Chengda's "family," but halfway there, he discovered that his car had been tampered with—the brakes had failed.

As the car accelerated, Yin Chengjue's expression became unusually calm, yet the madness and rage in his eyes seemed almost tangible. He couldn't help but think that even if he died, even as a vengeful ghost, he wouldn't let those people go; he would send them all to hell!

"Baby~ Mommy's here~ Did I keep you waiting?" The door to the private room opened, and a woman wearing a light blue floral dress, carrying a brown shoulder bag, and wearing snow-white high heels walked in, giving Yin Chengjue a big hug.

The familiar and warm embrace instantly touched a nerve in Yin Chengjue's heart, and tears flowed uncontrollably, landing on Yin He's shoulder.

Yin He paused for a moment, her expression worried, and asked, "What's wrong? Why are you crying, baby? Who bullied you?"

Yin He was truly stunned. Her son had never cried since he was old enough to understand things; on the contrary, he often made others cry. So now, seeing a crocodile shedding tears, Yin He even wanted to take out her phone to take a picture…

"...Mom, what are you trying to do by pointing your phone at me?" Yin Chengjue quickly regained his composure, not wanting Yin He to notice his unusual behavior.

"Ahem, it's nothing. Did you call Mommy over because you need something, baby?"

Even though she had already said it on the phone, Yin He still subconsciously pretended not to understand. She thought her son was just saying it in anger, after all, Feng Chengda was usually quite strict with Yin Chengjue, and it wasn't unusual for kids to be rebellious.

Yin Chengjue paused, then turned his gaze to a large envelope of letters that he had placed on the table.

"Mom, what I want to say today is in here. Before you read it, you must be mentally prepared and think it over carefully. You still have me."

Don't risk your life and abandon me for the sake of one scumbag.

That's not worth it.

Seeing her son's serious expression, Yin He gradually stopped smiling.

"What is it? Why are you making such a fuss? My darling is getting more and more sophisticated lately, no wonder he's my son." Yin He sat down opposite Yin Chengjue, picked up the letter bag, and untied the string around the top.

When Yin He held the letter bag in her palm, she knew that it should contain some photos or something similar, so after opening it, she turned the bag upside down and poured out all the photos.

"Splash—"

Yin He picked up one of the cards, and was stunned at first glance.

Those are photos of Feng Chengda shopping with his mistress and illegitimate child.

Whether it was the private investigator's excellent photography skills or their consistent way of interacting throughout the trip, all three people in the photos had bright smiles on their faces.

The picture Yin He was holding was taken in a brand clothing store. The woman picked up a silver suit and compared it to Feng Chengda's shoulder. The boy next to her, who looked to be in his teens, was wearing the same silver suit as the one the woman was holding.

Matching outfits for parents and children—how ironic.

Yin Chengjue couldn't help but think back to when he was little, he had also made a fuss about wanting to wear the same clothes as Feng Chengda to the amusement park, but what did Feng Chengda say?

They either scolded him for not finishing his homework, or reprimanded him for being unmotivated and always thinking about going out to play.

In short, whatever Yin Chengjue wanted, Feng Chengda would always be the first to object, from childhood to adulthood. If this is Feng Chengda's parenting style, then what is depicted in the photograph?

As Yin He looked at the photos, her face grew paler and paler. Finally, when she saw Feng Chengda kissing that woman in a Western restaurant, she reached out and tore the photo to shreds!

"These...these...these are all photoshopped, right? Did someone deliberately want to..." Yin He forced a smile, subconsciously denying the authenticity of the photos.

“I have a video here.” Yin Chengjue ruthlessly shattered Yin He’s fantasy: “That boy is already sixteen years old. Actually, there’s no need to check his DNA. Just by looking at his face, you can tell he’s Feng Chengda’s son. They’re practically identical.”

Yin He pressed her hands to her temples: "Jue'er, stop talking, I don't want to hear this right now... I..."

"Mom." Yin Chengjue grasped Yin He's hand, his dark eyes fixed intently on her. "He betrayed you a long time ago. I don't believe you didn't realize it. You just don't want to accept it, don't want to face it. But Mom, are you really going to hang yourself on a scumbag like this? Is it really necessary?"

Yin He's mind was in turmoil. She knew Yin Chengjue was right. Of course, she could feel Feng Chengda's indifference towards her over the years, even... his perfunctory attitude.

But she didn't want to admit it! Because once she admitted Feng Chengda's indifference, it would be tantamount to admitting that her choice was wrong, and that her disobeying her parents was also wrong.

Yin He is a strong-willed person. She firmly believes in every choice she makes, but now... her persistence, betrayed by Feng Chengda, is like countless slaps to her face!
