Liu Yihang's gains today were not limited to the Hainan Huanghuali stool.
The chicken cup in the space and the twelve cups in the flowerpot were the biggest finds.
Back at the shop, he took Yunyin on a tricycle to select four new flowerpots, claiming that the original flowerpots were too ugly and that they were moving the plants to a new place.
Yunyin was actually a little confused. She had thought that Liu Yihang had bought the flowers because he liked the flowerpots, but it turned out that wasn't the case.
When the two returned to the shop, they changed the flowerpots for the roses. However, when Liu Yihang was cleaning the flowers, he accidentally found an iron box inside.
They quickly moved the flowerpots to the kitchen to deal with them.
Finally, a total of twelve small boxes were dug out from the four flower pots.
They all felt like they were on a treasure hunt.
He urged Liu Yihang to open it quickly and see what was inside.
Unexpectedly, Chen Yiping arrived with Master Li at this moment.
The two met on their way back to their dormitory. Chen Yiping had just returned from the competition and naturally praised Liu Yihang's calligraphy performance. The two chatted amiably and neither of them had eaten yet.
We discussed it and decided to come together.
Unexpectedly, I stumbled upon Liu Yihang, who found some great finds.
Since Liu Xiangdong and Lin Guihua still needed to do business, Liu Yihang simply took them to the second floor.
Considering there might be something good inside, Master Li personally took action and opened the first box at hand.
A small wine cup appeared before everyone's eyes, with a peach blossom painted on it and the poem inscribed: "New flowers bloom in the wind, swallows fly in the new community; the season is old, spring is in full bloom."
Old Li looked at the cup inside, his expression changed, and he quickly opened the second box.
Another small wine cup, decorated with pomegranate blossoms, with the inscription: "Dewdrops reflect on the beaded curtain, fragrance wafts through the pink wall."
Old Li's breathing became much more rapid.
In the third box, there was a daffodil on the cup, with the poem: "Spring breeze plays with jade to create a clear painting, night moon floats on the waves to the great dike."
When all the boxes were opened, what was revealed to everyone was a set of twelve beautiful cups.
Each cup is decorated with a different flower and accompanied by a poem.
These cups have flared mouths, deep bellies, shallow foot rings, thin and light bodies, exquisite shapes, regular and beautiful forms, milky white bodies, paper-thin and crystal clear bodies, and are extremely beautiful.
Furthermore, they can be ordered according to the month they bloom:
January daffodils: Spring breezes play with jade-like beauty, and the night moon floats on the water above the dike.
February Forsythia: Golden petals and emerald calyxes carry the chill of spring, among the yellow flowers are several varieties.
Peach blossoms in March: The wind carries the scent of new flowers and swallows, while the old spring is still vibrant.
April Peony: At dawn, its beauty shines far like dew on a golden palm; at dusk, its fragrance lingers in the breeze of a jade hall.
May pomegranates: Dewdrops reflect on the beaded curtain, and fragrant breezes veil the pink walls.
Lotus in June: Its roots are like jade in the mud, and its heart is like pearls under the dew.
July orchids: Their light fragrance wafts from the grand palace, and distant melodies drift from the high terrace.
Osmanthus in August: Branches grow endlessly like the moon, and flowers fill the natural autumn.
Chrysanthemums in September: A thousand years of white-robed wine, a lifetime of fragrance from the Green Maiden.
October hibiscus flowers: their fragrance mingles with the overnight rain, their beauty emerges from the clear mist.
November roses: Not fading with a thousand other varieties, they bloom red all year round.
December plum blossoms: pure white blossoms on trees covered in snow, their delicate fragrance carried on the breeze.
Liu Yihang hadn't looked closely before, but now that he opened it, he understood that this set of twelve cups was actually the legendary Kangxi Twelve Flower Goddess Cups.
However, since he had only recently transferred departments, he didn't want to appear too impressive in front of Master Li, lest he arouse his suspicion.
I can only pretend I don't understand.
Chen Yiping's heart skipped a beat, and he asked, "Could this be the legendary Twelve Flower Goddess Cups?"
Although he doesn't know much about cultural relics, he has heard of some famous items.
Master Li nodded excitedly: "That's right! This is the famous Twelve Flower Goddess Cups. I never thought I would be able to see a complete set of Flower Goddess Cups in my lifetime. It is truly exquisite and a visual feast."
He has already checked them, and all twelve cups are genuine.
Seeing that Liu Yihang and Yunyin didn't quite understand, Master Li explained: "The twelfth day of the second month of the lunar calendar every year is said to be the birthday of all flowers."
Therefore, the "Flower Festival" has existed since ancient times, also known as the "Flower God Festival".
The Twelve Months Flower Cups are designed based on the legend of the traditional Flower Festival, and are made by selecting flowers from among the hundreds of flowers that represent the twelve months of the lunar calendar.
The flowers on each cup represent a goddess of flowers, hence the name "Goddess of Flowers Cups".
The set of cups in front of us is actually the Kangxi Twelve Months Flower Cups. It is a set of wine vessels, consisting of twelve small wine cups shaped like upturned bells.
The porcelain is decorated with underglaze blue and overglaze enamels. The body is firm and thin, the glaze is lustrous like jade, the shape is regular and exquisite, the size is consistent, and the painting is meticulous.
It exudes a strong literary atmosphere and is quite charming.
Its composition is sparse and refreshing, with flowers, rocks and small animals such as rabbits, butterflies and waterfowl arranged in a well-organized manner. Each cup is inscribed with a corresponding poem written in blue and white enamel.
Most of these poems are taken from the Complete Tang Poems, and their elegant and archaic style complements each other perfectly.
Master Li's explanation reveals his deep affection for the Flora Cup.
Finally, he added, "Now I truly believe what Junior Brother Xiang said; you are truly destined to be with this treasure."
Liu Yihang has just told them about his experience of obtaining the Flower Goddess Cup.
Who would have thought that such a treasure would be buried in a few ordinary potted plants?
Ordinary people who go to buy old houses don't even think about buying a few potted plants to keep.
Liu Yihang felt ashamed. In fact, his success was all due to external help; he had no innate good luck.
"What do you plan to do with these Twelve Flower Goddess Cups?" Master Li thought that if Liu Yihang was willing to make a move, he would do anything, even if it meant going bankrupt, to acquire the cups.
