Chapter 144 Life Hangs by a Thread

After a wave crashed over the shore, Chen Ze and Bing Jie were nowhere to be seen. The girl's mother came to the shore and burst into tears.

She shouted at the top of her lungs, "Xiao Jie, where are you?"

Liu Tianyi paced back and forth on the beach with a wooden stick in his hand. He wanted to go into the sea to look for his daughter, but he couldn't swim, so he could only anxiously wait on the beach.

His eyes kept scanning the sea, not knowing whether his daughter was alive or dead. At this moment, he felt extremely remorseful, thinking that he should not have let his daughter come to play at the beach.

On the other side, Chen Ze had initially seen the girl, but after a wave crashed over her, he could no longer find her, which made him extremely anxious.

He continued to swim three meters out of the water and finally saw the girl's black head. Her hands were still flailing, but the force was much weaker, and she was clearly exhausted.

Liu Bingjie murmured, "Am I going to die? No... I don't want to die."

She felt very resentful. She was only 23 years old, in the prime of her youth. Although she had a boyfriend, they hadn't even kissed yet, and they usually just held hands.

As she was lost in thought, a large hand grabbed her proud breasts from behind. She instinctively tried to resist, but she had so little strength that she could barely wave her hand, let alone fight back.

Chen Ze also felt himself touching a soft part, and thought to himself, "It's so elastic and feels nice." He couldn't help but squeeze it, which was a man's instinctive reaction to lust.

He held Liu Bingjie tightly with his left hand and struggled to swim with his right hand, swimming step by step toward the shore.

When he was about seven or eight meters from the shore, Bingjie's mother spotted them and shouted to her husband, "Honey, quickly grab a stick and pull them back!"

She was incredibly moved when she saw a strange boy dragging her daughter back. She knew that rescuing someone in such a huge wave was extremely difficult, so she was very grateful to the man who had risked his life.

Liu Tianyi held a five-meter-long stick and stretched it out to try to pull Chen Ze and his daughter back, but the distance was too far and the stick couldn't reach them at all.

In his desperation, he threw his leather shoes onto the beach and fearlessly took a few steps into the sea, trying to get closer to his daughter.

Just as he took a meter closer, the stick was finally extended in front of Chen Ze.

Chen Ze grabbed the wooden stick, and Liu Tianyi, seeing that he had caught it, shouted happily, "Hold on tight!"

His wife came over and grabbed his clothes, pulling him back with all her might. Chenliang, who was behind him, also ran over to help.

Seeing that he was about to pull Chen Ze and the other man ashore, Liu Tianyi felt much more at ease.

At this moment, the seemingly calm water surface is actually brewing the next storm.

Just then, a huge wave, two meters high, surged in.

Liu Tianyi's expression changed drastically, and he shouted anxiously, "Hurry up, the waves are coming again."

Upon hearing this, Chen Ze turned around and saw a huge wave crashing towards him menacingly, as if determined to swallow him whole. He cursed inwardly, "Damn you!"

"Splash!"

Huge waves crashed down, sweeping him and Liu Bingjie back into the sea, while Liu Tianyi and the other two were also pushed back by the fierce waves.

Although Chen Ze was swept into the sea by the waves, he held Liu Bingjie tightly and kicked hard with his feet, and soon the two floated back to the surface of the sea.

Liu Bingjie, whom he was holding, had been knocked unconscious by the waves. He was pulling her up and down in the seawater, and Chen Ze felt his strength gradually disappearing.

Liu Tianyi and the other two on the shore were heartbroken to see this scene and secretly admired Chen Ze's perseverance. The girl's mother burst into tears, feeling extremely anxious but having no good way to save her daughter.

Suddenly, another huge wave surged in, pushing Chen Ze, who was in the middle of the parade, to within a meter of the shore.

Upon seeing this, Liu Tianyi immediately threw away the wooden stick and rushed into the water, grabbing his daughter in his arms. Chen Liang and the girl's mother also rushed forward to help, pulling the two of them ashore.

Chen Ze lay on the beach, panting heavily, his whole body feeling like it was falling apart.

Liu Tianyi turned his daughter upside down, head down and feet up, and shook her vigorously, trying to expel the seawater from her body in this way.

Seeing this, Chen Liang quickly stepped forward to stop him, "Uncle Liu, this won't do. You need to lay the person flat, then compress their chest, and then perform artificial respiration."

Upon hearing Chen Liang's words, Liu Tianyi hurriedly laid his daughter flat and was about to perform the rescue as Chen Liang had instructed, but he realized he didn't know how.

Seeing Liu Tianyi hesitate, Chen Liang knew that it was because Uncle Liu did not know first aid measures.

So he volunteered: "Uncle Liu, I learned this first aid method in college, why don't you let me do it?"

Liu Tianyi ignored Chen Liang's request. At this moment, he felt disgusted with Chen Liang, who was cowardly and lacked any sense of responsibility that a man should have. He glanced at Chen Liang and then at Chen Ze, who had recovered, beside him.

Then he turned to Chen Ze and asked, "Young man, do you know how to perform CPR?"

Chen Ze nodded. "I learned it during military training."

"Okay, you're the one. Come and help."

Without hesitation, Chen Ze rushed to Liu Bingjie's side, knelt down, and began pressing on her chest with his hands clasped together.

After pressing a few times, I pinched her nose and began mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

Chen Liang, who was standing to the side, watched this scene with a flash of jealousy and hatred in his eyes.

After several rounds of emergency treatment, Liu Bingjie coughed a few times, spit out some seawater, and slowly opened her eyes. She saw Chen Ze in front of her and smiled weakly.

She managed to say with difficulty, "Thank you for saving me."

"You're welcome."

Liu Tianyi asked with concern, "Honey, how are you feeling? Is anything bothering you?"
