Chapter 238 I'd Rather Be an Emperor's Concubine Than a Commoner's Wife

In the spacious and bright living room of Villa No. 3 in Chiwan, sunlight streams through the floor-to-ceiling windows onto the soft carpet, and the air is filled with the faint scent of lavender.

Chen Ze sat on the sofa, holding a cup of hot tea in his hand, looking relaxed.

Wang Siyu and Liu Bingjie sat on either side of him. Wang Siyu was looking down at her laptop, while Liu Bingjie was focused on the fashion magazine in her hand. The atmosphere was peaceful and warm.

Just then, Liu Bingjie gently closed the thick book in her hands, then slowly raised her head, looking at Chen Ze with gentle, watery eyes, and whispered:

"Aze, have you been particularly busy with work lately? I've noticed you leave early every day and come home very late." As she spoke, she frowned slightly, revealing a hint of worry.

Upon hearing this, Chen Ze's lips curled into a faint smile. He then calmly placed his teacup on the table, making a crisp sound.

He then replied, "Sigh, there's nothing I can do about it! After all, I have two beautiful wives to support at home, so as their husband, I naturally have to work twice as hard as other men."

After saying that, he deliberately winked at Liu Bingjie.

At this moment, Wang Siyu, who had been sitting quietly to the side, also raised her head. Her beautiful eyes were full of tenderness, with a hint of genuine concern in them.

She said softly, "Darling, don't overwork yourself. Health is the foundation of everything. Sit down for a while, and I'll go and make you some nourishing soup. I recently learned several new recipes from Aunt Lian."

Upon hearing this, Chen Ze was somewhat surprised. He looked at Wang Siyu with suspicion and asked in a calm tone:

"Siyu, you, a pampered young lady who's been spoiled since childhood, can cook? And you even went to Aunt Lian to learn how?"

Upon hearing this, Wang Siyu's face blossomed into a bright and sweet smile, like spring flowers, and she said coquettishly, "Hmph, it's because I feel sorry for you that I specially went to ask Aunt Lian for cooking tips."

Hearing this, Chen Ze felt a surge of warmth in his heart. He never imagined that the person in front of him came from a wealthy family.

The pampered young lady, who had never lifted a finger in the kitchen, was willing to learn cooking from the family's nanny for him. This deep affection truly moved him.

Liu Bingjie stood up, walked to Wang Siyu's side, and gently patted her shoulder: "Let me help out too, and I can also learn your new recipe."

Wang Siyu responded with a smile, "Sure, that's perfect, we can chat about it together."

The two walked side by side towards the kitchen. Chen Ze watched their retreating figures, a slight smile playing on his lips. He leaned back on the sofa, closed his eyes to rest, and felt a warmth wash over him.

In the kitchen, Wang Siyu and Liu Bingjie prepared ingredients while talking quietly.

"Siyu, you haven't had much of an appetite lately. Are you feeling unwell?" Liu Bingjie asked with concern.

Wang Siyu was slightly taken aback, then smiled and said, "I'm probably just a little tired lately, it's nothing serious."

Liu Bingjie frowned, her tone serious: "Don't be careless. How about I go with you to the hospital for a check-up?"

Wang Siyu hesitated for a moment, then said in a low voice, "Actually... I've already been there."

Liu Bingjie stopped what she was doing and turned to look at her: "What's wrong? What did the doctor say?"

Wang Siyu took a deep breath, a blush rising to her face: "The doctor said... I... am pregnant."

Liu Bingjie's eyes widened, then she smiled with delight: "Really? That's great! Does Aze know?"

Wang Siyu shook her head: "I haven't told him yet. I want to tell him tonight and give him a surprise."

Liu Bingjie grasped her hand, her tone firm: "Oh! Why wait until tonight! Let's go tell him now."

The two carried the stewed soup back to the living room. Chen Ze opened his eyes and saw that their expressions were a little strange, so he asked, "What's wrong? You two seem to have something on your mind."

Liu Bingjie smiled and nudged Wang Siyu: "Siyu has something to tell you."

Wang Siyu took a deep breath, walked up to Chen Ze, and whispered, "Ze, I...I'm pregnant."

Chen Ze was stunned for a moment, then his face lit up with surprise: "Really? That's great!"

He stood up, took Wang Siyu's hand, his eyes filled with excitement and tenderness: "Siyu, this is something we've been looking forward to. I'm so happy."

Liu Bingjie stood to the side, a happy smile on her face: "Our family is going to have a new member."

Chen Ze turned to look at Liu Bingjie and said sincerely, "Bingjie, thank you for your understanding and support all this time. This family is only complete with you all here."

Liu Bingjie smiled slightly, a hint of tenderness flashing in her eyes: "We are a family, aren't we? From now on, we'll take care of Siyu and the baby together."

Wang Siyu looked at them with emotion, tears welling up in her eyes: "Thank you. I feel so happy to have you all by my side."

Chen Ze put one arm around Wang Siyu and the other around Liu Bingjie, his voice gentle: "We will always be together, and I want to make you the happiest women in the world."

The three exchanged a smile, as if everything was understood without words. Sunlight shone on them, creating a harmonious and warm scene.

It's a rare Sunday, and Chen Ze hasn't had a proper chance to go shopping and chat with his children in a long time.

As the sun gradually set in the west, its afterglow spread across the sky like a golden scroll, painting the layers of clouds with a dazzling golden hue.

This golden expanse seems to have been painted by nature with the most delicate brushstrokes, its beauty is intoxicating.
