Xiao Jing slowly walked to the door, her eyes following the dazzling supercar as it sped away like lightning, leaving only a dazzling trail of light behind it.
She smiled and nodded gently at Chen Hao's mother, then turned and walked to her car parked to the side. She then skillfully started the engine and drove home.
At this moment, Chen Youfu, his face contorted with rage, stormed out of the room like a volcano about to erupt.
His eyebrows furrowed tightly, forming a deep V-shape, and his eyes burned with rage as he roared:
“Look at him! It’s all because you’ve spoiled your son that he’s turned out like this! Now he doesn’t even listen to what we parents say, it’s really outrageous.”
Hearing her husband's accusations, Chen Hao's mother felt wronged and pouted, retorting:
"Oh dear... how can you blame everything on me? Can't you try a different way to communicate with your son? Every time you open your mouth, it's just scolding. Who would feel comfortable listening to that?"
Meanwhile, on the other side of the city, Chen Hao drove his sports car at breakneck speed back to the Sichuan restaurant.
The time had quietly passed to nine o'clock in the evening, and the streets were brightly lit with people coming and going.
The employees of the Sichuan restaurant had already finished their day's work and left on their bicycles, leaving only Li Moyang in the large restaurant.
Li Moyang was typing away at the cashier, calculating an expense and income on her calculator, and then writing it down in her notebook.
At this moment, Chen Hao walked in from outside.
When she caught sight of her boyfriend, Moses Chan, walking in, she immediately stopped what she was doing and got up to greet him.
However, she soon noticed that Chen Hao's expression was a little strange. He was silent, but silently took out cigarettes and smoked one after another. The swirling smoke filled the air, as if it enveloped his whole body.
Li Moyang's heart sank suddenly. She keenly sensed that her boyfriend must be hiding something unpleasant.
So, she took light, graceful steps forward and asked softly:
"Ah Hao, what's wrong? You seem unhappy. Did you just have a fight with your parents?"
Chen Hao raised his head slightly, looked at his girlfriend who was full of concern, and nodded silently.
He took a deep drag of his cigarette, slowly exhaled the smoke, and then, as if he had made up his mind, he stopped hiding it and began to tell his girlfriend everything that had happened to him when he got home.
Li Moyang listened quietly to Chen Hao's story, sighed softly, and reached out to stroke his cheek.
“Ah Hao, I know you’re in a difficult position, but your aunt and uncle are just concerned about you. Maybe we can find another opportunity to sit down and talk to them calmly.”
Chen Hao held her hand, a bitter smile on his face: "Mo Yang, you don't understand. They always arrange my life according to their own ideas and never consider my feelings."
After a while, the two closed the shop door, locked the doors and windows, and rode their electric motorcycle home.
The next morning, Chen Youfu arrived at the 21st floor of Nanshan Building and, led by Xiao Mei at the front desk, entered Chen Ze's office.
Chen Ze stood up, walked around the desk to greet him, and said with a smile, "Uncle Youfu, what brings you here today?"
"I just happened to be passing by and thought I'd come in and see you," Chen Youfu said.
The two sat facing each other at the coffee table, and Secretary Shen skillfully boiled water and brewed tea.
Chen Youfu took out a cigarette and handed one to him, then lit one for himself.
Chen Ze took the cigarette, lit it, and exhaled a smoke ring: "Uncle Youfu, I feel like you have something on your mind today."
Chen Youfu flicked his cigarette ash and sighed, "It's all because of my good-for-nothing son, he's so disobedient."
Chen Ze smiled and said, "Young people these days all have their own ideas, but you parents are definitely doing it for their own good."
Just then, Secretary Shen brought over the brewed tea and poured it for the two of them.
Chen Youfu picked up his teacup, took a sip, and sighed, "Zezi, your business is getting bigger and bigger, while my son's temper is getting worse and worse. Compared to him, I really want to put him back in my wife's belly and have another baby."
"Uncle Youfu, you're too pessimistic. Chen Hao isn't bad either. Look at him, he's opened Guangfu Grand Hotel all over Shenzhen, Dongguan, Shanghai, and Chongqing, and he's even opened several in Hunan Province. He's much better than many rich kids."
Chen Youfu complained angrily, "Hmph! No matter how outstanding that kid is, I'm still his father. I kindly arranged for him to marry a well-educated and virtuous young lady from a respectable family."
"He actually looks down on her, abandoning a perfectly good rich girl to marry that country bumpkin. Isn't that just ridiculous?"
Upon hearing this, Chen Ze was stunned, his mouth agape, unable to utter a word for a long time.
He thought to himself, "What era is this? Why are the older generation still so old-fashioned? They still insist on this outdated thing like arranged marriages."
Unfortunately, this is a family matter, and it's really not appropriate for an outsider like myself to get involved.
So he could only pray silently for Moses Chan, hoping that he could firmly protect the love that belonged to him.
At this moment, Chen Youfu forcefully stubbed out his cigarette, took a deep breath, and said slowly and deliberately:
"Ze-zai, this afternoon, could you do me a favor and invite Chen Hao to the Guangfu Hotel? I need to sit down and have a serious talk with him. I have to find a way to make him change his mind."
