Chapter 354 An Accidental Encounter with My Greek Father-in-Law

The next morning, the sun shone brightly and the weather was clear. Zhang Guoheng and the others packed their luggage, said goodbye to Chen Ze, and embarked on their journey to New Zealand.

Chen Ze, accompanied by his secretary and bodyguards, drove to the mobile phone company.

Along the way, the hustle and bustle of New York City unfolded before my eyes, with its busy streets and towering buildings forming a modern metropolis.

Before long, their car slowly came to a stop in front of the mobile phone company. The company's gate was spacious and impressive, and the parking lot in front of it was full of all kinds of vehicles.

As soon as Chen Ze and his entourage got out of the car, the company president rushed over to greet them. He was all smiles, shook hands with Chen Ze warmly, and then flattered him.

"Boss, it's been a long time. You've become even more handsome and charming. I wonder how many young and beautiful women are falling for you."

Chen Ze smiled slightly, "President Li, when did you also learn that kind of sycophantic culture in China?"

The two walked and talked.

After entering the company, the group walked through a spacious and bright corridor and arrived at the president's office.

The office is decorated in a simple yet elegant style, with a large desk in the center, surrounded by comfortable sofas and coffee tables.

As soon as Chen Ze sat down on the sofa, a Chinese-American female secretary gracefully walked to the coffee table and skillfully brewed tea for them.

Soon, the aroma of tea filled the air, giving people a refreshing feeling.

The secretary poured tea for the two of them, and then brought a fruit platter and placed it in the middle of the coffee table.

"Mr. Li, how is the company doing lately?" Chen Ze asked directly.

Upon hearing the boss's question, Mr. Li immediately sat up straight, his expression turning serious.

He said earnestly, "Throughout the United States, the company's profit margin in the second quarter increased by five percent compared to the same period last year. Last year, the company's total profit was $700 million. As you requested, I have used the profits to develop markets in other North American countries. However, we haven't considered Cuba and Mexico yet."

Chen Ze frowned slightly and pressed for an explanation: "Oh! Why is that?"

Mr. Li sighed and began to explain.

"Boss, it's not that we don't want to go there, it's just that the situation there is too chaotic. I'm worried that after we ship the goods there, we won't be able to get the payment smoothly, which will cause the company a lot of losses."

Hearing Mr. Li's explanation, he nodded slightly. He knew that Mexico and Cuba were in a very chaotic situation at the time, especially Mexico, where gangs were rampant.

Then, Chen Ze inquired about the production situation at the mobile phone factory.

Mr. Li said with a troubled look, "Boss, none of the companies here allow employees to work overtime at night, so our mobile phone production is a bit low."

Chen Ze was well aware of the situation in the United States, so he did not criticize the issue of insufficient production capacity too much.

The two engaged in an in-depth discussion about the future development of mobile phones. Time flew by unnoticed, and nearly half an hour had passed in the blink of an eye.

Just as they were having a lively conversation, a crisp cell phone ring suddenly interrupted their talk.

Mr. Li quickly reminded him, "Boss, your phone is ringing."

Upon hearing this, Chen Ze stopped speaking, took out his phone from his pocket, and saw an unfamiliar number displayed on the screen.

He hesitated for a moment, wondering who the caller might be, but ultimately pressed the answer button.

A deep, magnetic voice came from the other end of the phone: "Hi! Mr. Chen, long time no see. How have you been lately?"

The other person spoke fluent English, and Chen Ze found the voice somewhat familiar, but no matter how hard he racked his brains, he couldn't remember who it was.

"May I ask who you are...?" Chen Ze hesitated for a moment, but decided to ask anyway.

A frustrated voice suddenly came from the other end of the phone, as if the other party was very dissatisfied with Chen Ze's forgetfulness.

“Oh… Shit! Mr. Chen, you actually forgot about me? I’m Louis! Amy’s father!” The other person’s tone was tinged with disappointment.

"Oh! It's you, Mr. Louis. I'm so sorry, it's been so long since I've been to Greece that I didn't recognize your voice. I apologize." Chen Ze quickly tried to explain.

“Alright, Mr. Chen, I didn’t mean to blame you. I was just too concerned about Amy. How is she doing in China? Has the baby been born yet?” Louis’s tone softened. He was clearly more concerned about his daughter’s well-being.

"Thank you for your concern. Amy is doing well and in good health. However, the baby's birth may still take a little while, as it is a natural process. We can only wait patiently," Chen Ze replied with a smile.

After a pause, Chen Ze continued, "By the way, Mr. Louis, why didn't you call me from a Greek number? Why did you use a number from the United States?"

Louis explained over the phone.

"Because I've recently been expanding our spicy snack market in the United States, I need to stay here for a while. Of course, I also got a new mobile phone number here for business purposes."

"Oh God, what a coincidence! I happen to be in New York too. I wonder which state you're expanding your business in now?" Chen Ze asked in surprise.

Louis said excitedly on the other end of the phone, "I'm in New York! This is just God's arrangement, Mr. Chen, we really have to meet. I've encountered some trouble expanding the spicy snack market in the United States this time. I know you have a great business mind, and I'd like you to help me think of a solution."

Chen Ze readily agreed: "No problem, Mr. Louis. I was just about to have a good talk with you about the specifics of the Greek company. How about we find a place to get together?"

Listening from the side, Mr. Li smiled and suggested, "Boss, there's a very nice Rose Hotel near our company, which is perfect for business meetings. Why don't we book there?"

Upon hearing this

Chen Ze nodded and quickly set a meeting time.

After hanging up the phone, Chen Ze and General Manager Li briefly discussed the follow-up work arrangements before heading to the Rose Hotel.

About twenty minutes later, Chen Ze saw Louis, looking travel-worn, push open the door to the private room and walk in.

The two hugged each other, and then Chen Ze gestured for him to sit down.

"Mr. Louis, please have a seat."

After Louis sat down, he eagerly asked, "Hi, Mr. Chen, how long have you been here? Are you here for tourism?"

Chen Ze smiled and replied.

“I’ve been here for half a month, but I’m not here for tourism. I have many companies under my control, so I don’t have the leisure to travel. I’d rather stay home and spend time with Amy and the others.”

Louis thought for a moment and nodded slightly.
