Chapter 373 The Truck Blocking the Road

The next day, Chen Ze, accompanied by his translator Oniffer, arrived at the indigenous tents on the farm, where they saw an elderly man playing with children on the lawn.

As soon as the two arrived, someone went to inform Marula.

Soon, Marula came out of the tent, beaming with smiles as he quickly stepped forward, warmly grasped Chen Ze's hand, and babbled words of thanks in the local dialect.

Onif quickly translated, "Chief Marula said, thank you for helping their entire village."

Chen Ze smiled and waved his hand, "No need to be polite, it's my pleasure. I came today to tell you that the new house is finished, and you can move in at noon."

Marula's eyes were filled with surprise and gratitude as she listened to Onif's translation.

Next, Chen Ze arrived at the farm's reclaimed land and saw domestic agricultural technicians teaching the indigenous people how to plant potatoes, corn, and various vegetables.

Although they couldn't communicate in the same language, they taught each other step by step.

"Oniffer, find me a French teacher who speaks Chinese. The salary and benefits will be excellent," Chen Ze simply stated his intention.

Oniffer was slightly taken aback upon hearing his boss's words.

Is the boss looking for someone to teach these indigenous people Chinese?

"I'll call tonight to see if they have it."

With a smile on his face, Onif asked, "Boss, where do you plan to build the school?"

Chen Ze thought for a moment, "Let's build it on that wasteland behind their new house."

Next, Chen Ze arrived at the copper mine site, where he saw a group of workers working in an orderly manner.

At the entrance of the mine, small mining trucks shuttle back and forth, transporting the mined ore to the screening area.

The engineer in charge of the site came up to Chen Ze and reported: "Boss, the mining progress is going very smoothly, and the quality of the freshly produced ore is also quite good."

Chen Ze nodded and pointed to the African workers not far away, "All miners must wear safety helmets, otherwise they are not allowed to enter the mine to work."

The engineer looked troubled. "Boss, those African workers are reluctant to wear hard hats. They say it's too hot and uncomfortable to wear them."

Chen Ze frowned and said seriously, "Safety is not something to be taken lightly. They must wear them. You need to develop a reward and punishment system. Those who wear safety helmets will receive extra rewards, and those who don't will have their wages deducted."

The project manager accepted the order and left.

Chen Ze walked around the mine again before coming down the mountain to the mining company's temporary headquarters.

Upon entering the tent, they found Wang Zhengang and several others studying the quality of the copper ore.

"Old Wang, have the local government sent anyone to inspect these past two days?"

Chen Ze stepped forward and asked.

Old Wang looked up at his boss and replied, "Boss, government officials come every day, but I think they're just going through the motions. They won't come for another ten days or two weeks!"

Listening to what Lao Wang said, he also felt that there was some truth to it.

However, the constant surveillance by government officials made him hesitant to mine gold.

Forget it, we can't rush things, or we'll easily expose ourselves.

Just then, the walkie-talkie on the table rang, "Mr. Wang, the mayor of Watian Town is here."

"Okay, got it." Old Wang put down the magnifying glass and walked out of the tent.

Chen Ze followed them out and saw a pickup truck parked outside the camp. A middle-aged black man in a suit with a large belly got out of the truck, followed by several entourage.

Wang Zhengang, with a broad smile, quickly stepped forward, speaking in broken local language, while enthusiastically introducing his boss, Chen Ze, to the other party.

Upon hearing the boss's name was Chen Ze, the town mayor immediately showed a look of surprise and joy, and hurriedly stepped forward to shake Chen Ze's hand tightly, repeatedly expressing his welcome and gratitude.

Onif, standing to the side, acted as a translator, helping the two sides communicate smoothly.

The mayor was all smiles and very friendly, but suddenly his tone changed and became somewhat serious:

“Dear friend, our town of Watian has a large and densely populated population. Many children are of school age but do not have the opportunity to attend school. Therefore, I sincerely hope that you can generously donate some funds to help us build two schools.”

Upon hearing this, Chen Ze immediately realized that the other party was probably asking for a kickback.

He showed no sign of panic, but calmly asked, "Mayor, I'd like to know first, is the money for building the school to be given directly to you?"

Chen Ze thought to himself that if the other party directly asked for money, he would definitely not give them a single penny.

However, to everyone's surprise, the mayor waved his hand and explained with a smile: "Dear boss, of course you're not just handing the money to me directly! This donation will be donated to the Africa Aid Construction Fund, and then we will use the funds through the formal application and approval process."

Onif immediately translated it for him.

"Is this aid-to-Africa construction fund reliable, Oniffer?"

Upon hearing the boss's question, Oniffer nodded solemnly, "Boss, this fund is managed and supervised by dedicated personnel, and there are no problems whatsoever."

“Okay, if there are no problems, just tell the mayor that I am willing to donate $500,000 to build a school in Watian Town,” Chen Ze promised.

After being translated by Onif.

Upon hearing this, the mayor's smile widened, and he thanked him repeatedly.

A phone rang.

Chen Ze said apologetically, "Excuse me, I need to take this call."

The mayor shrugged. "Do as you please. I have other things to attend to. I'll be going now."

"Old Wang, could you see the town mayor off?" Chen Ze instructed.

"good."

He pulled his phone out of his pocket and quickly pressed answer.

Shen Xiyu's voice came from the other end of the phone, "Boss, someone wants to see you."

"Who wants to see me, male or female?"

Chen Ze asked curiously, "Where are you now?"

The person on the other end of the phone replied, "The person who wants to see you is a woman, Miss Lisa, who helps us with our work. I'm at the Mora City Cultural Center."

"Okay, I'll head over right now."

After hanging up the phone, Chen Ze got into the car and instructed, "Uncle De, go to the Mora City Cultural Center Square."

"Yes, boss."

Chen Ze rolled down the car window and casually handed Oniever a bank card. "Oniever, go to town and donate to them in our company's name. I have something to do and need to go to Mora City."

Onif took the bank card and got into an SUV with four bodyguards.

Chen Ze's Hongqi sedan slowly drove away, followed by two off-road armored vehicles.

As we drove along the unpaved roads, a cloud of yellow dust was kicked up behind us.

While passing through a mountain road, they suddenly discovered that a dilapidated truck was blocking their way in the middle of the road.

The convoy stopped three meters away from the truck.

In the bushes on both sides of the road, a group of black people stared intently at the convoy, seemingly waiting for the people in the cars to get off.
