Chapter 57 A Fool Fell in Love with You

The Mingwei Seafood Restaurant was brightly lit, with all sorts of cars parked at the entrance. The noise from the crowds was deafening, and customers were constantly coming and going, showing that the restaurant was extremely popular.

Three cars pulled up at the entrance and stopped. Chen Ze and the others got out of the cars one by one.

Chen Ze led the group of young and beautiful men and women into the restaurant.

Passersby cast curious glances at Chen Ze's group, because he was wearing clothes from a cheap street stall and his flip-flops were particularly eye-catching, yet he was still walking ahead of everyone else.

The fat man and Chen Hao, dressed in designer clothes, could only follow behind him, while the others followed behind the two of them.

Upon arriving at the front desk, a smiling waiter greeted him: "Hello, sir, would you like to choose a private room or dine in the main hall?"

"Let's have a private room," Chen Ze said casually.

How many people are in your party?

He pointed to the people behind him: "They're all with me."

"I'm sorry, boss, there are too many people. We only have one couple's room left, which can only accommodate two people. The large rooms are already full."

Left with no other option, Chen Ze had to eat in the lobby.

The waiter gestured for us to come with him.

The group followed the waiter down the corridor until they reached a ten-person table at the back of the hall. The waiter said, "Hello, this ten-person table meets your group size requirement. There is a menu on the table for you to choose from."

Chen Ze counted the heads and found there were eleven people. "Let's stop here. There are just over ten of us."

After everyone sat down, the fat man picked up the menu and started ordering the most expensive dishes, seemingly intending to eat Chen Ze out of house and home. The others also ordered their favorite foods.

When he saw the fat man next to him chatting and laughing with Wu Meixuan, and occasionally whispering in her ear, he noticed that the fat man was talking to Wu Meixuan.

Chen Ze said unhappily, "Fatty, you two just met, how did you two get together?"

"Watch your words. What do you mean by 'flirting'? That's so awful. We call this love at first sight, you know?"

Chen Ze didn't expect that Wu Meixuan had some tricks up her sleeve, managing to subdue the fat man in just a few minutes.

He Wenhui whispered in Wu Meixuan's ear, "Didn't you say you were going to take down Chen Ze? Why did you change your mind?"

"Sigh, I've tried everything, but he won't even look at me. I have no choice but to pick the easiest one."

A moment later, the waiters brought out the cooked dishes one after another, and everyone began to eat and chat.

"Chen Ze, you've been at Shenzhen University for so long, why are you still single? Don't you have any girls you like? Or is there something wrong with your sexual orientation?" Huang Xinyi asked.

Upon hearing this, everyone cast curious glances their way.

Chen Ze put down his chopsticks: "Actually, dating at eighteen is too early for me. I prefer making money to dating. A good man like me usually gets pursued by girls, but I don't look at ordinary girls."

"So what kind of girl do you like? Is it someone like me?" Huang Xinyi asked meaningfully.

Chen Ze shook his head. When talking about girls he liked, he recalled the days he spent with Wang Siyu, saying, "When our class monitor was still in school, she pursued me. She was very beautiful and had a great presence. She confessed to me several times, and I was so moved by her sincerity that I finally agreed to be her boyfriend."

"What happened in the end? Where did that beautiful woman go?" Chen Hao asked, barely suppressing a laugh. He knew Chen Ze was indulging in his carefree banter again, and he would burst out laughing once Chen Ze could no longer keep up the act.

He picked up a glass of ice-cold beer, took a sip, and continued, "Although we were only together for a few days, I think it was the happiest time of my life. After her mother found out about our relationship, she forcibly separated us."

"On the night she left, she said a lot to me. The most memorable thing was that she said, 'Chen Ze, although your family forced us to separate, I hope you remember that there was once a fool who loved you, loved you very, very much.'"

As he spoke, tears streamed down his cheeks. He took out his phone and texted Zhao Youde, asking him to bring over the guitar from the trunk of the car. He wanted to sing a song to express his feelings.

The man and woman at the next table initially thought he was just joking, but when they saw the tears in Chen Ze's eyes, they realized he was telling the truth.

A moment later, Zhao Youde came over, handed him the guitar, and then turned and left.

Chen Ze hung his guitar around his neck and said, "I composed a song yesterday and dedicated it to the girl I once loved."

At that moment, he was unaware that a camera next door was secretly recording him.

Using the emotions of this moment, Chen Ze performed a cover version of the song "A Fool Loved You" from later generations, his right hand lightly plucking the steel strings, and the prelude began:

Who knew I would meet you?

Before she could utter a word, her eyes were already filled with tears.

...We still passed each other by.

Actually, I want to keep you here, to let time stand still so it's just you and me... There was a fool who once loved you...

The guests at the surrounding tables all turned to look when they heard the beautiful singing.

Many people in the crowd commented that the young man sang very well.

The more he sang, the more tears flowed. After choking up at one point, he could no longer continue singing.

Seeing how heartbroken everyone was, they also felt a pang of sadness.

The fat man handed him a tissue and comforted him, "Okay, don't think too much about it. Maybe a better girl will be waiting for you in the future. Think positively."

Fatty knew that Chen Ze had gotten completely drunk last time because of a breakup, but he didn't expect that after so long, Chen Ze still hadn't forgotten that girl.
