Chapter 77 Officiating the Wedding

"With the return of the vital energy, everything is renewed; the first day of the new year has always belonged to the first ten days of the month."

Time flies, and New Year's Day has arrived in the blink of an eye. A new year brings new beginnings, and today is an auspicious day. Most Chinese people like to hold their weddings on this day.

Of course, Wang Kaicheng and Zhang Yuting are one of the newlyweds. Wang Kaicheng is from Taiyuan, Shanxi Province. When talking about Taiyuan, one must talk about the Wang family, because Taiyuan is the birthplace of the Wang family. All the orthodox Wang family members have their ancestral home in Taiyuan.

Wang Kaicheng is holding his wedding at the Tangdu Hotel in Taiyuan. Today, the entire hotel has been booked by Wang Kaicheng.

A red carpet stretched all the way to the hotel entrance, with flowers and colorful balloons lining both sides of the entrance.

Guests streamed into the hotel.

Today, all the senior executives of Panda Company came to attend his wedding. Because the journey was too far, Chen Ze chartered a plane to bring all the employees over.

When they arrived at the entrance of Tangdu Hotel, they saw Wang Kaicheng standing straight on the left side of the hotel entrance, dressed in a formal suit, holding a plate filled with candy and melon seeds. Standing next to him were five groomsmen.

Standing on the right is the bride, Zhang Yuting, wearing a wedding dress. She is holding a red cardboard box, which looks like a donation box, with an opening in the middle.

Guests entering the house would stuff their red envelopes containing monetary gifts into a cardboard box.

The bride was accompanied by five bridesmaids, all of whom were her classmates and best friends.

"Li Ziming, Sister Ruoxi, you go ahead and lead the colleagues in. I'll bring up the rear."

"Boss, why don't you walk in front?" Li Ziming asked curiously.

Chen Ze rolled his eyes at him. "Have you ever seen a commander charging ahead on the battlefield?"

Li Ziming was speechless at his boss's explanation. This was a wedding, not a battlefield.

After all the Panda Company executives had given their gifts, it was Chen Ze and Wang Siyu's turn.

"Hello, boss."

Chen Ze smiled and said, "Brother Wang, congratulations on your marriage."

"Thank you for your blessing, boss."

Chen Ze held out his hand to Wang Siyu, "Siyu, take out our gift money envelopes."

Wang Siyu opened her LV bag, took out nine thick red envelopes, and handed them to Chen Ze.

He took the red envelope, came to the bride, and said with a faint smile, "Sister-in-law, this is our heartfelt gift. The total amount of the gift money is 88,000, which is an auspicious number. We wish you and Brother Wang a long and happy life together."

Zhang Yuting smiled happily and said, "Thank you, Boss Chen. You are very generous. I also wish your company a prosperous business and that it will grow bigger and bigger."

Chen Ze tried to stuff the thick red envelopes into the opening in the middle of the box, but the opening was too thin and small, and the 10,000 yuan red envelopes were too thick to fit in.

So he simply placed the nine thick red envelopes on top of the box and said, "Sister-in-law, you can have someone open them and stuff them in slowly. We're going in first."

"Okay, Mr. Chen, please go in and rest for a while."

Zhang Yuting called her best friend to help her open the red envelopes and then stuffed them into the box one thousand at a time.

"Yuting, was that young man your boss?"

“Susu, he’s not my boss, he’s my husband’s boss. You know Panda Takeout, the one that’s really popular in Taiyuan right now? That company is run by that young man.”

"I know, I know. I've been staying home writing novels lately and I'm too lazy to go out to buy groceries, so I order takeout almost every day. It's so convenient. I feel like this company was tailor-made for lazy people like me."

Soon, after all the guests had arrived, the bride and groom returned to the stage in the hotel lobby, where the groom, Wang Kaicheng, took the microphone and gave the first speech.

Just after Wang Kaicheng finished his speech, a groomsman came up to him, whispered a few words in his ear, and then turned back to the audience.

Wang Kaicheng said into the microphone, "Because the wedding emcee I invited today suddenly had something come up and couldn't come to help host the wedding, I've decided to ask a friend to host the wedding for me on-site."

As soon as he finished speaking, a group of his classmates in the audience raised their hands to volunteer.

Wang Kaicheng glanced around at them, finally fixing his gaze on Chen Ze, and then said into the microphone, "My boss, Mr. Chen, I'd like to trouble you to host the event today."

Chen Ze smiled slightly and did not refuse him. He walked confidently onto the stage.

Wang Kaicheng handed him a microphone and smiled, "Boss, you're hosting my wedding today. When you get married in the future, I'll host yours too. Let's return the favor."

"I can help you, but you should at least give me a red envelope," Chen Ze said with a smile.

Wang Kaicheng took a red envelope out of his pocket and handed it to him, saying, "Here, this is a red envelope for you."

He didn't stand on ceremony and accepted Wang Kaicheng's red envelope. In the customs of the Cantonese, it is necessary to have a lucky charm when celebrating someone's wedding. It doesn't matter how much money is involved, the main thing is to bring good luck.

After receiving the red envelope, Chen Ze presided over the wedding ceremony for him. After the ceremony, tea was served to both sets of parents, and then it was time to tease the best man and bridesmaid.

Chen Ze walked up to a pretty bridesmaid and held the microphone to her lips: "Beautiful lady, what's your surname?"

Bridesmaid: "My surname is Wang."

Chen Ze: "Which school did you attend, and what was your major?"

Bridesmaid: "Department of Literature, Peking University".

Chen Ze: "I've heard that Peking University is a prestigious institution of higher learning, so today I'm going to test your literary skills."

Bridesmaid: "Bring it on, I've never lost to anyone in the literature category."

After Chen Ze pondered for a while,

He began, "The sound of wind, the sound of rain, the sound of thunder, all these sounds enter the ear. Please continue with the next line."

Bridesmaid: "The bride, bridesmaids, and mother-in-law all look like your mother."

"Pfft!" The bride and groom next to them burst out laughing first.
