Chapter 37 The Sadness of Parting



It was still broad daylight, and the business had not yet opened for business.

Soon after, the fat man sat down next to him, and the two smoked and chatted.

Before I knew it, the lights around me came on, and the bar door opened.

The two entered the bar, which was dimly lit and filled with deafening music. Chen Ze drank one glass after another, reminiscing about his time with Wang Siyu, using alcohol to numb the pain of heartbreak.

The fat man silently stayed by his side, knowing that any further comfort would be futile at this point.

However, life must go on. Chen Ze decided to turn his grief into strength and make sure that those who had looked down on him would regret it.

Before I knew it, the alcohol hit me hard, and I slumped onto the table, completely motionless.

The fat man used all his strength to help him to the bar entrance. Zhao Youde saw this and immediately came over to help. Suddenly, Chen Ze vomited up leftover food and bits of food all over the floor. He felt like his intestines were about to come out, and he felt extremely uncomfortable.

The fat man handed Chen Ze a bottle of water, gesturing for him to rinse his mouth. Chen Ze took the water, gulped down a few mouthfuls, and felt the burning sensation in his throat lessen slightly.

"Thank you, Fatty." Chen Ze patted Zhao Youde on the shoulder.

"Don't thank me, we're brothers. But don't be too sad, out with the old, in with the new," the fat man comforted him.

Chen Ze gave a wry smile. "If I ever fall in love again, I'll be a dog. I've decided to focus on making money from now on."

Finally, the bodyguard drove him to his apartment to rest.

Freshmen are not allowed to live off-campus. It's okay if it happens once in a while as long as the counselor doesn't find out.
