Chapter 247: Leak (Part 2)

Chapter 247: Leak (Part 2)

Jiang Ningyue thought carefully, and after a moment's contemplation, she turned to look at Tian Jun and Luo Yuan. "It's absolutely impossible that this was the Baihe Municipal Government's own action. Because when we went there, if it involved demolition, those hotels would definitely not be what they were then."

"That's right."

Luo Yuan nodded and said, "I heard there's a hotel nearby that's only been open for half a year."

Director Chen nodded after hearing this. "So, someone leaked the information?"

“It’s not just a leak.”

Jiang Ningyue tapped the table. "Just a few words could make the Baihe Municipal Government so excited? I don't think it's possible. Our 'Questioning Government' program hasn't even officially aired yet, so they definitely won't make such a big fuss. Only if we have solid evidence to prove that we want to make this Baihe Steamboat Hotel an example will the Baihe Municipal Party Committee and Government take it seriously."

Tian Jun nodded. "You're right. The news I made up must have been leaked."

"Was anyone recording the video at that time?" Jiang Ningyue suddenly asked.

Several people looked at each other. They were all watching the news at the time and no one paid attention to this matter.

Luo Yuan suddenly said, "Probably not, at least not when we were filming this. I was even paying attention to see if anyone was secretly filming."

Jiang Ningyue nodded after hearing this and said, "Let's go to the non-editor's office."

The TV station's non-linear editing software has a dedicated third-party company stationed there, responsible for routine software operation and maintenance, material entry and exit, etc. Seeing Jiang Ningyue and others walk into the office, the head of the non-linear editing, Dashan, was stunned for a moment.

"Director Chen, Director Jiang, what's going on?"

"Big mountain."

Jiang Ningyue asked, "Can your non-editing backend see who has used the materials in the resource library?"

"Can."

Dashan nodded and said, "It's all recorded backstage."

"Okay, check it out for me."

Dashan opened the backend and searched for the footage. After a moment, he looked up. "At 8:27 AM on September 25th, the account 'Tian Jun' moved this footage and packaged it."

Everyone immediately looked at Tian Jun, who looked bewildered. "September 25th, isn't that a Saturday? I didn't come to work."

"No one is talking about you." Jiang Ningyue smiled and continued to look at Dashan. "Dashan, can you see which floor 'Tian Jun's' account logged in from on September 25th?"

"Sure, any machine will do." Dashan opened the backend, found Tian Jun's account, and found September 25th. "From the editing room of the news center."

"Okay, thank you."

Jiang Ningyue raised her head and looked at Director Chen, "I remember there are surveillance cameras in the editing room."

"Let's go to the security room."

Several people went to the security room again and adjusted the surveillance to 8:00 on September 25th. As the time came to August 12, a figure walked in from the corridor. Seeing this person, Jiang Ningyue and Tian Jun immediately looked at each other, and Chen Xuemei also frowned.

"Isn't this Ma Jingwen?"

Ma Jingwen is a reporter from the People's Livelihood Reporting Department and a former colleague of Chen Xuemei, Jiang Ningyue and Tian Jun.

Tian Jun frowned, "The secret of my non-editing software has always been '123'. I've worked with Xiao Ma before, and she knows my password."

Jiang Ningyue rubbed her solar plexus and called the other three deputy team leaders of the supervision team.

Not long after, three deputy team leaders, Wang Song from the General Office of the Provincial Party Committee, Qiao Jin from the Provincial Commission for Discipline Inspection and Supervision, and Cheng Xu from the Propaganda Department of the Provincial Party Committee, came to the monitoring room.

After Jiang Ningyue explained the situation, Wang Song from the General Office spoke out first, saying, "This reporter's behavior is very serious and must be dealt with seriously!"

Qiao Jin also nodded and asked curiously, "Team Leader Jiang, Director Chen, does the TV station have any relevant regulations?"

"Yes." Director Chen glanced at Jiang Ningyue and said, "The TV station has a clear requirement that unbroadcast news is not allowed to be leaked."

Qiao Jin nodded after hearing this and turned to look at Cheng Xu. "Team Leader Cheng, what are your Propaganda Department's opinions?"

Cheng Xu was the oldest of the group, nearly 40 years old. Hearing Qiao Jin's question, he frowned and spoke slowly, "I have no objection to how to deal with this reporter, but I think we should seek the advice of Liu Tai."

Jiang Ningyue said, "Dealing with her is simple. The problem is, we need to make an example of her as a warning to others. Otherwise, if everyone leaks secrets in the future, how can we continue this political program? This is no longer an ordinary violation of discipline. We must take strong measures!"

Qiao Jin nodded and said, "Let's call this reporter over first and ask her what's going on."

A few people found a meeting room and called Ma Jingwen in. As soon as Ma Jingwen walked into the meeting room and saw Jiang Ningyue and Chen Xuemei sitting in the middle, she probably understood something and her face turned a little ugly.

"Xiao Ma." Director Chen looked at Ma Jingwen with a cold face. "You logged into Tian Jun's account earlier. Did you pass the rough news test on 'Baihe City Ship Hotel'?"

Ma Jingwen's lips moved, and she subconsciously wanted to deny it, but since they had found her, it meant that there was clear evidence. Ma Jingwen thought about it and finally nodded.

"It's me."

Tian Jun was furious. He slammed the table and yelled, "Xiao Ma! Tell me the truth. Who told you to do this?"

Ma Jingwen's lips moved, her eyes reddened, "Director Jia asked me to help him find some material, and I didn't think too much about it, so I helped him."

"Director Jia?"

Jiang Ningyue frowned, "Jia Feng?"

"Yes." Ma Jingwen confessed everything and did not cover up for Jia Feng at all.

Jiang Ningyue nodded and looked at Wang Song, Qiao Jin and the others, "Let's go find Liu Tai."

Ma Jingwen looked at Jiang Ningyue with tears in her eyes, "Xiaoyue, I won't be fired, right?"

Jiang Ningyue stopped and looked at Ma Jingwen's red eyes calmly and scrutinizingly. "Tell me the truth, don't you know that what Jia Feng asked you to do is against discipline?"

"I……"

The words were on the tip of her tongue, but Ma Jingwen couldn't say them. She had been a reporter for so many years, how could she not know that this kind of material could not be given to others casually.

"Okay, no more talk."

Jiang Ningyue raised her hand, signaling Ma Jingwen not to say anything more, and left the meeting room with a few people.

Ma Jingwen sat on the chair in a daze, looking at Tian Jun who slowly stood up, "Brother Jun..."

Tian Jun sighed, shook his head and left.

Several people came to Liu Tai's office in a threatening manner. Liu Tai looked at Jiang Ningyue in confusion and said with a smile, "What can I do for you, Team Leader Jiang?"

"Something's going on. Something big."

Jiang Ningyue and the others sat down on the sofa, and Director Chen relayed what had just happened.

"I'm not trying to excuse Lao Jia!"

Liu Tai's brows furrowed as he listened. "But is there some misunderstanding here? Although Lao Jia has some minor flaws, he has never made a mistake on major issues."

Jiang Ningyue said calmly, "Whether it's true or not, we can just call Director Jia and ask him and we'll know."
