Chapter 106 A Rare Moment of Peace and Happiness

The next morning, when Junjue woke up, he found himself still tightly embracing his girlfriend.

He gently stroked his girlfriend's hair, his heart filled with happiness and tenderness. This night brought them closer and strengthened their bond.

Recalling the exciting yet shy evening of the previous night, Junjue was filled with emotion and embarrassment.

He realized that spending every unforgettable moment with his loved one, whether it was exciting or shy, was a precious experience.

He decided that no matter what difficulties and challenges they faced, he would firmly support his girlfriend and walk through every stage of life together.

Shangguan Wan'er opened her hazy eyes and saw Junjue gazing at her with infatuation. Her face flushed slightly.

Waking up early in the morning and seeing such a handsome man first thing in the morning made her incredibly happy. She smiled and said:

"Why are you up so early, Lord?"

Feeling that her hands were still tightly wrapped around the other person's slender waist, she quickly put her hands down, lowered her head, and didn't know how to hide the unspoken ambiguity.

Seeing the other person's blushing face, Junjue's lips curled up slightly. It turned out that Wan'er was even more shy than him!

He released his arms from hers, gently stroked her soft hair, and said softly:

"My biological clock is very punctual. No matter how tired I am every morning, it wakes me up by itself at six o'clock."

"Is Wan'er hungry? Let's get up, wash up, eat something first, and then look at the map to see which route we should take to gather supplies."

He definitely can't take the route he took to Shanghai anymore, because everything he went through has been taken away.

"good!"

As soon as the two of them got up, the five black daylilies next to them also got up.

"Awooooo~"

"Woof woof woof~"

The two little ones ran to their parents and rubbed happily against their legs.

"Five black daylily vegetables, after Master finishes brushing his teeth and washing his face, you can have breakfast. You two little ones, go wait over there for a while," Shangguan Wan'er said indistinctly while brushing her teeth.

"Aww~" Hearing its master's words, Wuhei led Huanghuacai back to its nest and lay down.

After cleaning himself up, Junjue put the tent, bed, and doghouse into his spatial storage. He took out two dog bowls, poured dog food and canned vitamin meat for the dogs onto them, and let the two little guys eat next to him.

"We're on our way today! You two little ones should eat well."

Wu Hei Huanghuacai nodded in response and then went back to enjoying her food.

After feeding the two little ones, the Duke came to the woman's side and asked gently:

"Wan'er, what kind of delicious food would you like for breakfast?"

"We'll be collecting supplies as we travel, so let's eat something that will keep us full! Rice is a good option," Shangguan Wan'er said with a smile.

"Okay!" Wan'er said that what he thought was pretty much the same as what he had said. So Junjue took out a stir-fried water spinach in a disposable box, a sweet and sour pork rib, a steamed fish, and two boxes of white rice.

"Wan'er, come and eat! What else would you like to eat?"

Seeing that the two of them already had several dishes, Shangguan Wan'er felt quite satisfied. Even though her boyfriend had so much stuff in his space, she couldn't let it go to waste!

If I had known that these delicacies would no longer exist in the world, I would have just kept things as they were.

"No need, it's fine as it is."

After saying that, he immediately took out his lunchbox and began to eat with relish.

Seeing how happily Wan'er was eating, Junjue piled a lot of ribs and fish onto her plate.

"Wan'er is growing, so eat more high-protein foods."

"good!"

In a ravaged world ravaged by various natural disasters, Junjue and Wan'er lived a rare and happy life.

The morning sun shone through the broken roof and fell on them. In the dawn light, two mongrel dogs, having eaten and drunk their fill, scratched their bellies and stood not far away, waiting for their owners to finish their delicious breakfast.

Wan'er was happily enjoying her delicious breakfast when she saw the long-awaited sunshine suddenly appear. She exclaimed with delight:

"My God! The sun is actually out today? This seems to be the first time in three or four months!"

Seeing Wan'er's smiling face, Junjue's heart softened considerably, and he said gently:

"Wan'er, enjoy the warmth! After these ten days, it may be hard to see such warm sunshine again."

Because he clearly remembered from his previous life that ten days later came three months of black smog, followed by extreme heat of 70 or 80 degrees Celsius every day, which lasted for more than a year.

“Okay!” Junjue had told her about the future. Although she didn’t know why Junjue knew so much, she trusted him.

Wan'er and Junjue depend on each other for survival in this world. They support each other and face one disaster after another together.

All of this stemmed from a series of sudden natural disasters: a corrosive acid rain, months of torrential rain, a typhoon, and a tsunami that eventually destroyed the entire world, leaving only ruins.

Survival became people's only goal, but Junjue and Wan'er were unwilling to give up their pursuit of happiness.

In the face of harsh reality, they chose to help each other and persevere in their search for hope.

Wan'er is good at raising cats and dogs for companionship. They can guard the house and yard, keep her company during her lonely years, and help her find food and supplies.

Two mixed-breed dogs, one black and one yellow, one representing steadfastness and strength, the other purity and hope. These two dogs have become a part of their lives, bringing them endless joy.

After breakfast, Junjue and Wan'er, carrying backpacks, followed behind Wuhei and Huanghuacai, and headed towards the capital along the abandoned streets.

They believed that there was always a glimmer of hope in this destroyed world.

They searched for food and supplies, encountering difficulties and dangers, but they never gave up.

The Duke took a map, crossed out the route he had taken, and chose a route he had never taken before.

They had taken all the supplies from Shanghai and didn't plan to stay there any longer. So, they took Wan'er and the two dogs and teleported directly to another first-tier city, Dasi City.

That place was said to be a major industrial city in the south, so it was perfect for him with his infinite folding space.

When the two arrived there, they were shocked to see that the once bustling area had become dilapidated and in ruins.

Shangguan Wan'er initially held onto some hope, expecting to find a place untouched by destruction. However, every place she visited was left ravaged beyond recognition, leading her to say with some disappointment:

"It seems that the whole world looks the same! There are no intact houses anywhere in sight. Every roof is corroded several layers deep, and the outer frame looks like it has been artificially aged, with pits and bumps everywhere."

"Wan'er, that was global corrosive acid rain, and then there were so many natural disasters. Every city was already in a terrible state."

Now all we can do is see if there's anything left to collect, and try to get back to the capital before the black smog hits.
