Chapter 116 Recovering from Injuries

"I don't know when the natural disasters will end, or when the world will return to its former civilization. If things continue like this, it will be too devastating."

"Alas! This world is now in ruins and desolation. Everything is gone, and mutated creatures are everywhere. It's as difficult as climbing to heaven to go back to the way things were before."

Junjue didn't have time to listen to those people's nonsense. He was very anxious when he saw that his girlfriend and the two dogs were badly injured.

Thinking that similar parasites might appear in the future, he placed ten boxes of medicine at the main entrance and then said to the manager:

"The danger here is over. I'm going to take my girlfriend back to treat her wounds. There are ten boxes of medicine outside that we found not long ago. Take them all back to the base to prevent such tragedies from happening again."

Upon hearing Junjue's words, the manager of the Peace Shelter said excitedly, "This... thank you so much. Now that everything is non-renewable, the shelter's medicines are almost gone. With your donation this time, I believe everyone will have a much better time in the future."

"Thank you for the medicine, young man. This is great! Our shelter finally has medicine."

"Thank you so much, handsome young man and beautiful young woman. You two are truly capable and kind-hearted. I hope you have a smooth and successful life together in this world."

"No need to thank us. We don't need that much medicine between the two of us, it would be a waste to keep it." After saying that, Junjue carried the injured Wan'er on his back, and amidst the gratitude of a group of refugees, he quickly left the refuge with two injured dogs.

The shelter staff followed the Lord out of the base gate and, upon seeing the ten large boxes of medicine laid out there, thanked him again before taking all the medicine to the shelter.

After leaving the shelter for a while, Junjue saw that it was already bright outside. Feeling his girlfriend's weakness, he said with heartache, "Wan'er, does it hurt a lot? I'll take you to a safe place to treat your wounds."

"It hurts a little, but it's bearable."

I feel very happy because after today's practice, I can realize that I have many shortcomings in my skills, and I have improved a lot today.

Both dogs got hurt too. They were really brave today, and we'll give them a good reward later.

Although Wan'er was in a lot of pain, she was really happy. Last night, she overcame the difficulties and practiced her skills desperately in order to become stronger.

"Okay! I'll take you to a safe place in the next city first, and we'll recover before continuing to collect supplies."

"Um!"

Junjue, carrying his girlfriend on his back, took out a large bag and said to the two small mutts:

"Come in, your master will take you to a place to treat your wounds."

"Aww~".

Wu Hei Huanghuacai nodded, then quickly limped into the bag and lay down. She felt the bag shake five or six times, and soon she found herself in an unfamiliar environment.

Junjue, along with his girlfriend and two dogs, teleported to a second-tier city 60 kilometers away, found a dilapidated high-rise building that still looked habitable, and went up to the 88th floor.

This used to be a hotel, but the floodwaters reached up to about the 80th floor during the tsunami. This place, however, was not flooded and is still habitable. The things inside are okay, with beds and toilets, but some things are moldy and need to be changed, etc.

Junjue Wan'er put the dog down, went to the bathroom to check that there was no danger, and then came out to ask:

"Wan'er, you are covered in wounds. Do you need me to help you change your clothes and clean you up before you go to bed?"

Upon hearing Junjue's words, Shangguan Wan'er blushed slightly and quickly refused:

"No...no need, I can handle it myself. Just put the water in the bathroom for me, carry me in, and I can wash up by myself."

She was just tired from the superficial injuries all over her body; it wasn't like she had a broken arm or leg and needed someone to take care of her.

"Okay! If you can't handle it, remember to call me in for help. We're boyfriend and girlfriend, so don't feel like you're bothering me. I'm happy to help you with anything."

After saying that, Junjue went to prepare hot water for Wan'er, took out her clothes, shower gel, shampoo and arranged them, and put a tube of ointment aside before going out to carry her inside.

"Thank you," Wan'er whispered as she watched Junjue walk away.

"You don't need to be so polite with me!" Junjue said with a smile, then gently closed the bathroom door.

……!

How can the other person hear me when I'm speaking so softly?

Speechless, he could only take off his clothes and carefully wash his injured body.

More than half an hour later, Junjue carefully placed Wan'er on the bed, while Wuhei and Huanghuacai sat obediently on the bed beside her.

Junjue took out a box of medical supplies and gently cleaned the wounds on Wan'er's arms and feet. There were several deep scratches on Wan'er's legs, while the dogs had cuts on their backs and limbs, with blood still wet.

Junjue carefully applied the ointment, and Wan'er gently bit her lip, enduring the pain. Her eyes revealed boundless gratitude towards Junjue.

Junjue couldn't help but ask, "Wan'er, you and Wu Hei Huanghuacai had a great time today."

Wan'er smiled faintly: "Junjue, you know I've always wanted to become stronger. Seeing those two dogs working so hard to get rid of those roundworms, how could I be willing to fall behind!"

Junjue smiled as he looked at Wan'er, knowing that the woman he had fallen in love with was so kind and strong.

"You were forced to fight today without being mentally prepared. You are so brave, Wan'er." Junjue's voice was full of satisfaction.

Wan'er blushed and lowered her head, her heart pounding: "I just want to work hard to become stronger so that I can protect the two brave little ones in the future, just like you have always protected me."

A warm feeling welled up in Junjue's heart. He held Wan'er's hand tightly and said, "Wan'er, you are the bravest girl I have ever met, and the person I cherish the most."

If Shangguan Mingyue had encountered this situation, she would probably have collapsed to the ground in fear! How could she possibly be as brave as Wan'er!

Wan'er blushed, lowered her head, but did not answer.

Junjue knew that Wan'er also had feelings for him, but she didn't have the courage to say it.

Junjue put down the ointment in his hand and looked down at Wuhei and Huanghuacai. They were still sitting quietly on the ground next to Wan'er, as if they could feel Junjue's gentleness and care.

"You two little ones are so brave." The Duke squatted down and gently stroked their heads.

Wuhei squinted its eyes and licked Junjue's palm, while Huanghuacai looked at Junjue with its adorable eyes, as if expressing its gratitude to him.

Junjue smiled. He knew that these two mongrel dogs had come to regard them as family, and the bond between them had long surpassed blood ties.

Junjue took out a thick piece of cotton cloth and carefully bandaged Wuhei's wound. Wuhei comfortably closed his eyes in his arms, enjoying Junjue's care.
