Chapter 138 Finally, a Temporary Room Was Found

Seeing that there were far fewer houses here than in the city center, and not as many dilapidated buildings, I put the two dogs down, looked at my somewhat tired girlfriend, and said with heartache:

"Wan'er, we're only a few kilometers away. The warehouse is nearby, so there's no need to rush."

We didn't rest at all last night. We went to find a place to rest for a few hours first, and then we went to collect supplies.

"Great! The sun is really nice today, it's a pity we won't be able to see this warm sun tomorrow." Wan'er tried her best to feel the warmth of the sun. She knew that her boyfriend's space could capture things from a great distance, so she wasn't afraid that those things would fly away.

As for why they didn't collect the supplies here, it's because they didn't want to miss anything.

Besides, the two dogs are so small. They walked all night, so even if I'm not hungry, they must be.

"Let's walk around and see where there's a suitable house to stay in temporarily."

So the two men, with their two dogs, hurried across a desolate patch of land in the suburbs.

Behind them lay a decaying wasteland, and ahead lay a dark, unknown expanse. Two stray dogs, one black and one yellow, followed closely behind.

“My Lord, this place is much more dilapidated than the city center, and it looks like it was flooded by a tsunami. All the houses are black where they were submerged.” Wan’er’s voice rang out, filled with weariness and unease.

The ruler looked around and saw that the roads were deserted and the houses were dark and dilapidated.

He tried to remain calm and gently comforted her, "Wan'er, don't worry, we'll find a place to stay temporarily."

The lower floors were all flooded by the tsunami and are definitely uninhabitable, so let's find higher floors to stay on!

A glimmer of hope appeared on Wan'er's face, but she couldn't help but ask, "Are you sure? It looks like there are ruins everywhere here."

Junjue glanced at the two mongrel dogs that were following them and smiled slightly. "These two dogs have been with us the whole time. They're so smart, they must know where we can find temporary shelter. We just need to keep up with them."

The two mongrel dogs, Wuhei and Huanghuacai, sensed their owner's gaze and immediately quickened their pace, leading Junjue and Wan'er onward.

They followed closely behind, passing through ruin after ruin, as if entering another world.

"Look, there seems to be a tall building that hasn't collapsed yet by the roadside. The tsunami only submerged less than half of it. We can go over there and take a look." Wan'er pointed ahead, a hint of happiness flashing in her eyes.

He patted the two dogs that had led the way and smiled at them, saying:

"Wu Hei, Huang Huacai, you guys are awesome! You really helped the owner find a house to live in. Once it's all taken care of, I'll reward you with a few big chicken legs."

"Awoo~"

Upon hearing that there were chicken legs, the two dogs wagged their tails excitedly and clung to Shangguan Wan'er.

"Hmm! The two little ones are getting more and more capable. They'll definitely be Wan'er's little helpers in the future."

Junjue saw this too, and breathed a slight sigh of relief. Finally, his girlfriend could get some rest, and he continued gently:

"Yes, let's go take a look quickly. I'll feel sorry for Wan'er if she doesn't rest. Look at your panda eyes."

"It's so unfair! Why do I have dark circles under my eyes while you don't? We're both people who walk all night." Shangguan Wan'er said dejectedly, looking at Junjue who showed no signs of fatigue and had a radiant face.

Seeing Wan'er's sullen face, Junjue almost burst out laughing: "That's because your boyfriend has superpowers! His body has been completely enhanced and modified, how could he feel tired?"

"That makes a lot of sense, let's go!"

Dogs, hurry up and get here! You'll get your chicken legs after you've tidied up your lodgings.

"Aww~." The five black daylily buds followed closely behind their owner's steps.

They quickened their pace and finally arrived at the tall building.

Although the house is dilapidated on the outside, it can still barely keep out the wind and rain.

Upon seeing the names above, the two of them showed a look of surprise.

"Lord Jun, this is actually a grand hotel in the suburbs? We're so lucky!"

"There are some mountains nearby, so it should be a tourist scenic area."

Since there are hotel rooms, they must have king-size beds. Let's go check them out!

Junjue led Wan'er by the hand and pushed open the door. It was dark inside, with only a faint ray of sunlight shining into the hall through the broken door.

Junjue and Wan'er entered the hall, followed by the two dogs.

The air inside the house had a damp smell, but it was still better than the rotten smell outside.

“This place was flooded by the tsunami, so we need to go to a higher floor. This hotel has sixty or seventy floors, and we need to go to around the fortieth floor to stay in.” Junjue said gently, looking at the lobby full of black mud.

"Hmm! The elevator must be broken. Shall we climb up?"

"How could I bear to see you so tired? I'll definitely teleport you up there." After saying that, he put his arm around the other person's soft waist, while holding two dogs in one arm, and quickly changed the scene.

“It’s simple here, but at least it’s a place for us to rest,” Junjue said, sitting down on a worn-out wooden chair.

Wan'er found a clean spot to sit down. She gently stroked the yellow dog's fur and said gratefully, "Thank you. Without you leading us, we might not have found this place."

The black dog licked its lips, seemingly responding to Wan'er's words. Junjue smiled and said, "They are Wan'er's good companions; they will always be with us."

In this dilapidated room, Junjue and Wan'er began to talk about their past life. They reminisced about their former home and talked about those beautiful times that were no longer there.
