Chapter 109 The Third Choice
There was a bruise at the corner of Morris's lip, and his dark-skinned, tan exterior could not hide the scars underneath.
The female soldier had a very high ability to heal, and the wounds on other parts of her body had long since healed. There was still a mark on the corner of her lip, which clearly showed that she had been severely injured.
"My lord, there was a conflict between Admiral Colin and I." Morris did not hide it and told the situation.
Morris had a mental battle with Colin in the tomb of the Insect Emperor. The two insects had a close relationship in the military, so it didn't take Colin long to find Morris.
Morris overturned the black crystal coffin in the cemetery, and this action caused Colin to be lashed with 500 military lashes. Of course, Colin would not let it go. However, Colin had no evidence, so he simply used the excuse of military training to fight Morris again.
Adrian frowned. Seeing blood seeping from the bandage on Morris's eye, he quickly removed the bandage to check the condition inside.
Morris had just had surgery on his right eye not long ago, and although it had recovered well, it was still fragile. Adrian took a closer look at the area around his eye, which was slightly swollen and had a few bloodshot eyes around the pupil, but no bruises or wounds were seen.
"He even hit you in the eye?" Edrien's face was hard and cold. He rubbed the skin around Morris' eyes with his fingertips and said with anger, "He only knows how to bully you!"
Morris: "..."
Colin's situation was no better than Morris's. Both of them were S-rank female soldiers, and they were equally matched in every aspect.
Morris was even better at mental control than Colin. Colin injured his eyelid and lip, while Morris cut Colin's cheek - the face that Colin was going to use for his wedding photos in a few days.
Morris didn't care about these. He half-knelt in front of Edrien, raised his head and said, "My lord, Colin has no evidence, don't worry."
Adrian snorted. "Of course he didn't, or he wouldn't have bothered you. Does it still hurt?"
"It hurts," Morris answered quickly. He half-closed his right eye, and the dark purple inside seemed to be mixed with unclear tears. "I can't see."
"..." Adrian watched Morris pretend to close his eyes. He was silent for a few seconds and gestured to Morris, "Sit next to me and I'll massage you."
Morris stood up. He had been selectively listening to only half of what was said since he had no idea, as if he was deliberately misunderstanding it.
Edrian was sitting on the sofa. He saw a military uniform flash before his eyes, and Morris skillfully sat astride Edrian's thighs.
"My lord, thank you for your help." Morris lowered his eyes and let Adrian touch the skin around his eyes. He had already adjusted his movements.
"..." Edrian held Morris' waist. He controlled the strength of his fingertips and massaged the swollen skin underneath lightly or heavily.
"Morris, Colin is getting married to Sean." Adrian's hands did not move. He continued as if he was talking casually, "In three days."
Morris already knew it, he closed his eyes and said nothing.
Adrien didn't care. He continued, "The Insect Emperor is in a bad condition now. Maybe Sean will take the throne in the future."
His fingertips were cool, and they rested on Morris' skin, which became warm due to the contact. Morris opened his eyes and looked at Adrian silently.
Edrien half leaned against the sofa and smiled at him: "I don't like Sean, and I don't want to see him ascend the throne."
Adrien's face was always gentle, lacking the sharpness of a female insect. Only when he was angry would his pupils rise up, revealing a bit of fierce protective color.
Now he sat in front of Morris as usual, speaking in the same tone, as if he was just talking about a very simple matter.
"Prince Aran is in poor health. He is not a good choice." Morris sat on Edrian's legs, still controlling his muscles. He looked directly at Edrian and spoke.
Adrian just smiled and said nothing.
Morris was indeed aware of Adrian's movements. Adrian had been in frequent contact with A'ran during this period, and had already silently made his position clear.
Morris knew where Edrien's ambitions were. He was in the royal family before, and he is still in the royal family now.
"The Insect Emperor has two male princes. Apart from Sean, there is only one male prince, A'ran, to choose from." Edrian approached Morris and stared into his eyes, trying to see something else in them. "What do you think I should do?"
"Who said they were the only two who could choose?" Morris answered nonchalantly, "Anyone can sit in that position."
There was a strong hint in his tone. Adrien was surprised and asked, "You want me to be the Insect King?"
Morris looked at him and said, "My Lord, you don't want to?"
The current throne was usurped by the Insect Emperor. In Morris's opinion, neither Sean nor Alan was qualified to ascend the throne.
He was just a prince of the previous dynasty who had survived. Morris had been hiding for years, and even after joining the military, he still walked on thin ice every day.
He could live his whole life in anonymity.
After the death of the Insect Emperor, the news about Morris will also disappear among the Insect Tribe. No matter Sean or Alan, they will not pursue those old things after they ascend the throne.
But Edrien was clearly unwilling to give up his dream of becoming an emperor.
Morris had watched Adrian climb the career ladder over the years and knew all the blood, sweat, and hard work he had put in so far.
He knew that Adrian was trying to please him, and he also knew that he was always calculating every step. It was because of these that Adrian could get to where he is today.
With so many steps to go, how could Adrian be willing to be a supporting role to A-ran?
There was a gleam in Adrian's green eyes, and the emotions inside piled up, layered on top of each other, drowning out his original appearance.
He smiled silently. After a moment of silence, Adrien spoke again, "This is too risky. Prince Aran is weak, but his character is good. He is a good choice."
Morris frowned slightly. Adrian's answer was beyond his expectations.
This male insect never liked to consider the feelings of other insects. He had made so many preparations, but now he was willing to give them all up to help another male insect.
"My lord, I also have an army in private." Morris thought of various possibilities, among which the most likely possibility was that they lacked military power.
He thought for a moment, but still didn't want to let Adrien back down: "I can help you..."
Adrian knew what he wanted to say. He kissed Morris's lips and said, "Morris, I don't want you to take any risks."
Morris's body stiffened. The warmth between his lips was still there, and Edrien's tongue occasionally slid across the gap between his lips.
