Chapter 112 Royal Bloodline
"Captain, do we need to go together?" asked the female soldier next to him.
"No need." Morris's fingers touched the thin cigarette in his pocket. He pressed the base of the cigarette and then released his fingers. "Return to the military headquarters."
…
The journey back to the palace was not far. The final location of the wedding was close to Sean's palace, so that Sean could travel back and forth to handle things.
Colin followed the military girl on the road. He looked forward and a corner of the hall's high roof was already visible in his sight.
There was still a chance to escape now. Colin was an S-rank military female, and he was confident that he could escape from the guards of these military females. When he entered the main hall later, the number of guards would double, and Colin would really have no way to retreat.
But if he did this, he would be abandoning all his hard work over the past decade. His name would no longer be in the military, and Sean would not let Colin become his female servant. Colin would spend his life fleeing among the Zerg.
"Captain Colin."
The sound was deliberately lowered, and Colin's pure blue eyes trembled and turned to the side.
After entering the palace, the number of military ladies guarding Colin gradually decreased. Perhaps because of his status as the head of the military, only four or five military ladies followed him.
The female soldier who was leading the way walked up to Colin without him noticing. Colin turned his head to the side imperceptibly and met a pair of emerald green pupils.
"… is it you?"
Edrian pulled his military cap very low, his eyes slightly curved, and smiled at Colin: "Captain, don't worry, I'm here to help you."
Colin frowned.
He has always had a bad impression of Adrian, the male insect. Adrian has a good face, but his heart is full of conspiracy. Not to mention that Adrian had been entangled with Sean earlier, and he could even be considered Colin's half-rival in love.
Colin was skeptical: "Help me?"
"Captain, I don't have much time. I can only say a few words to you." Adrian paid attention to the situation around him and whispered to Colin.
"I have bribed the royal doctor in charge of the test. Don't be afraid when your blood is drawn. Everything is ready. He will use the blood of another female worm to replace yours."
Colin's heartbeat became irregular for a moment, and he asked cryptically, "You know?"
"Of course." Adrien said, "Captain, you don't have to worry."
Colin's doubts grew. He had never told anyone about his life experience except Sean. How did Adrian know?
"I'm not doing this for you." The meaning of Adrian's words was unclear.
The female officer guarding outside the hall had already turned her gaze towards them. Adrien lowered his head and quickly walked past Colin to the front.
Colin withdrew his gaze, hesitated for a moment, and chose to move forward without making any other moves for the time being.
The hoarse sound of the Insect Emperor's cough came from the palace, mixed with the sound of the pure gold cane banging on the ground, hitting the female insect's skull again and again.
Colin entered the hall, and the princes stood on both sides. Sean and A'ran had arrived earlier, and they stood on their own sides, still wearing their formal attire.
Colin raised his eyes and glanced at them, then moved his gaze to the top of the hall.
"Captain of the Legion, please come in." The Insect Emperor waved his hand.
The old royal doctor waiting on the side walked slowly forward with a syringe for drawing blood. The needle of the syringe was long and sharp, with a cold light soaking up it.
Colin glanced to the side and saw Adrian mixed in with the guards nearby. He winked at him suggestively.
Colin calmed down and stretched out his wrist in front of everyone.
The needle was inserted into the flesh on the back of Colin's hand. It was very painful, but Colin's face remained unchanged. A few seconds later, the old doctor took out a tube of blood.
"When can it be detected?" asked the Insect Emperor.
The old doctor bowed and said, "Your Majesty, we still have some of the late emperor's blood. If we test it now, the results will be out in about an hour."
The Insect Emperor nodded.
After getting his permission, the old doctor took the syringe and walked into the next cubicle.
During this hour, the air was dead silent, and even the slightest sound could be heard clearly. Colin knelt on one knee inside the hall. The Insect Emperor did not let him stand up, so he could only maintain his original posture and remain stiff and motionless.
A breeze blew in from outside the gate. The cold winter finally retreated, and the gradually warmer season slowly seeped in. However, it was too weak after all, and the coldness hidden underground still climbed up along Colin's knees.
"Your Majesty, the results are out."
Less than an hour later, about fifty minutes later, the old doctor came out of the inner compartment with the test documents.
All the insects in the hall focused their attention on this old but majestic female insect. The old doctor took a few steps forward and the guards handed over the test results.
Colin clenched his fists subconsciously, and he secretly paid attention to the expression of the Insect Emperor. The Insect Emperor's cloudy eyes trembled, he put down his crutches, and slowly turned the paper recording the data with his fingers.
A few minutes later, the Insect Emperor suddenly tore up the paper in his hand and threw it down.
"Catch it! Catch this evil creature!"
Colin's expression suddenly changed. He spread his wings, turned around and tried to escape from the door of the hall. The female soldiers behind him were already prepared. They swarmed over him and used their mental power to bind Colin tightly.
Colin fell from the air, his body smashing through the floor of the hall.
"Put him in jail!"
The Insect Emperor seemed to be extremely angry, his face was wrinkled and distorted, and he kept hitting the ground with his crutch.
Colin felt as if he had fallen into an ice cellar. The scene around him was in chaos. Sean, A'ran, and the remaining princes... their faces blended together and finally merged into the roaring face of the Insect Emperor.
He saw Adrian standing at the corner among the many military women.
Adrian's eyes were narrow and still slightly curved upwards. He looked at Colin silently, and after a moment he looked away as if nothing had happened.
"Adrian—"
Colin bit the mental chain on his body fiercely. The female insect behind him forced a suppression ring on his head and then dragged him out of the hall.
Upon seeing this, Sean quickly stepped forward and knelt down. He said, "Father, I didn't know Colin was such a person. He should be executed immediately as a remnant of the previous dynasty. He deliberately approached me, and I was deceived by him..."
The Insect King was so angry that his body was shaking. He kept coughing and pointed at Sean and said angrily: "He is your close relative, and you still want to marry him live! Now the whole insect tribe knows about your scandal. You are so stupid!"
Sean knelt on the ground and kept apologizing: "Father, I was deceived by him..."
"Get out! Go back and reflect on your mistakes. Don't let me see you!"
The Insect Emperor's face was dark, and his cloudy pupils looked forward, as if he saw some dark shadows with sinister smiles again. He suddenly threw all the utensils on the table and smashed them, and held the cane in his hand tightly.
"Get out! Get out!"
All the insects in the hall bowed and retreated quickly. The female soldier heard the order and withdrew from the corner.
Edrien stood at the end, and before leaving, he glanced inside the palace. The Insect Emperor was extremely weak, and he was so shocked that he couldn't bear it. He held the throne and vomited a pool of black blood.
"Your Majesty! Your Majesty... please call a doctor..."
The figure inside fell down, and Adrian quietly withdrew his gaze.
