Chapter 12 Check-in

It was already noon when they finished renting the room. Qian Muchue was in a good mood and packed three dishes, two meat dishes and one vegetable dish, and took them back to the hotel.

Qian Xiaoya hadn't seen her mother all morning. As soon as she saw Qian Muchue coming back, she became restless in Grandma Qian's arms and fluttered for her mother to hug her.

Qian Muchue put the packed food on the table and turned to go to the bathroom to wash her hands.

“Ah, ah, ah…”

Seeing that her mother ignored her and disappeared again, Qian Xiaoya protested loudly. Grandma Qian had no choice but to carry her to the bathroom to watch Qian Muchue wash her hands.

"Xiaoxue, what do you think of the house?"

"Great, it's settled. Once the mail arrives this afternoon, we can move in and move in."

Qian Muchue said this happily, wiped her hands, took the dishonest Qian Xiaoya, and kissed her hard on the face.

"So soon?"

"Well, if you see something good, you can decide on it right away."

"How much? I have some money here for you to use."

Grandma Qian took out a roll of money from her pocket and handed it to Qian Muchue, wrapped in a handkerchief. It was the money she had saved by living frugally for so many years.

"Grandma, I told you I'm rich. I've already paid the rent. I'm bringing you here to enjoy life. You don't have to worry about anything. I bought some delicious food for lunch, but it won't taste good if it gets cold."

Seeing that Grandma Qian was about to speak, Qian Muxue exaggeratedly said, "Oh, I've been running all morning and I'm starving. Grandma, let's eat quickly."

Seeing that her granddaughter seemed really hungry, Grandma Qian felt distressed and said nothing else. She opened the food that Qian Muchue brought back, which included a braised pork trotter, a steamed fish and a tomato and egg dish.

The food tasted very good. Qian Muchue specially asked the boss for advice. The pig's trotters were stewed very tenderly and Grandma Qian had no problem eating them.

Grandma Qian saw that the dishes were not cheap, so she and her granddaughter ate all the dishes with open stomachs. Since using the bone-shaping and soul-nourishing water, Grandma Qian's health has not only improved, but her appetite has also increased a lot, and she can eat and drink a lot.

Qian Xiaoya has also been very interested in adult meals recently. Every time she sees her mother and great-grandmother eating, she can't stop drooling. Her pitiful appearance melts Grandma Qian's heart, and she tries all kinds of ways to add complementary foods to her. However, it is inconvenient to stay in the hotel these two days, so the little baby can only drink milk obediently.

In the afternoon, Qian Muchue stayed in the hotel and did not go out. As soon as the logistics arrived, she called a car and took Grandma Qian and Qian Xiaoya straight to their new home.

"Oh, this house is so nice, so big and beautiful."

As soon as Grandma Qian entered the house, she kept praising them. Qian Muchue took her to see the bedroom, study, bathroom, and kitchen, and there was nothing she didn't praise. She touched this and that, and loved them very much. The only thing that worried her was that she didn't know how to use the gas stove in the kitchen. How could she cook? Qian Muchue taught her how to turn on and off the gas stove and how to turn on the range hood. The old lady tried it a few times and found it very novel.

"Xiaoxue, this house looks bigger than Fengzi's."

The old lady was talking about her son's home in City A. Qian Yifeng's house was a small three-bedroom apartment with a property area of more than 120 square meters and an indoor area of less than 100 square meters. The house that Qian Muchue rented was a real 130-plus square meters with no public area.

"Yeah, it's bigger than Dad's house."

The second bedroom where Grandma Qian lives is much larger than the master bedroom in Qian Yifeng's house. The master bedroom where Qian Muchue and Qian Xiaoya live also has a separate bathroom.

The house was very clean and just needed a quick sweep. Qian Muchue and Grandma Qian just spread out the sheets they brought from home and moved in. The sheets had beautiful patterns and were newly bought by Qian Muchue in her hometown.

The air conditioner in the room was on, making it more comfortable than a hotel. Grandma Qian was full of energy. She put the things in place at home and hung the clothes neatly in the closet. The old lady felt happier than being a god at this moment.

The pots, pans, and utensils that Qian Muchue ordered were delivered in the evening, and the oil, salt, sauce, vinegar, rice and other ingredients were delivered earlier. Grandma Qian felt that the city was great, as she didn't have to go out to buy groceries.

The old lady was afraid of spending money and insisted on cooking at home in the evening. She was not very brave to use the gas stove, so Qian Muchue made dinner. The first meal after moving in was vegetable and egg noodles, and Grandma Qian was very satisfied with it.

Qian Xiaoya behaved very well in the afternoon. She lay on the bed and played with her little toys obediently. She did not disturb her mother and great-grandmother from working at all. She only hummed a few words when she was hungry or had peed.

Another good thing happened before going to bed at night. I received a reply to the essay competition I participated in before. Qian Muchue was busy and didn’t see the email in the afternoon. When I logged into my email in the evening, I saw an email from the editorial department of Dingfeng Literature. The content of the email was that Qian Muchue’s "That Summer" won the first prize in this essay competition, and contacted the Qingniao editor, a staff member of Dingfeng Literature.

Seeing that it was so late, Qian Muchue thought it would be better to contact him during working hours tomorrow. She turned off the computer and had a good night's sleep.

The next morning, Qian Muchue's biological clock was still on time in the new environment. She practiced body-building exercises for half an hour as usual. After breakfast, she took Grandma Qian and Qian Xiaoya to the supermarket. The vegetables in the supermarket were fresh in the morning and cheaper than takeout.

The supermarket was not far away, and it only took more than ten minutes to walk there. As soon as Qian Xiaoya arrived at the supermarket, she couldn't sit in the stroller and kept asking her mother to hold her. Qian Muchue held the baby in one hand and pushed the stroller with the other, following behind Grandma Qian to watch her pick vegetables.

"Why are these vegetables so expensive? We eat them freely in our village."

"Auntie, these are pesticide-free and pollution-free green vegetables. They're not expensive, and they're delicious and nutritious."

The supermarket saleswoman was putting fresh vegetables on the shelf. She heard Grandma Qian mumbling and explained to her with a smile.

"Xiaoxue, let's buy less. Grandma will plant some pakchoy when we get home. She doesn't use pesticides when she grows her own."

When Grandma Qian saw the small courtyard yesterday, her eyes lit up. If she hadn't had so much to do, she would have planted the vegetables yesterday. The old lady was very capable and even brought the vegetable seeds with her. Qian Muchue was at a loss whether to laugh or cry when she first found out.

"Grandma, Yaya and I listen to you. You are the housekeeper of our family."

"Auntie, these two are your granddaughters. They are so beautiful. You are so lucky."

The salesgirl then noticed the young girl behind the old lady and her eyes were fixed on her. She was so pretty, even prettier than the actresses she had seen on TV. The little girl in the young lady's arms was also so cute, with big, bright eyes. The salesgirl wanted to take her home.

Grandma Qian was very happy to be complimented. She had agreed to buy fewer vegetables, but ended up buying a big bag.
