Chapter 33: Dining

At noon, Liang Yiyi and Liang Wenyu had lunch in the company. After Yiyi and Liang Wenyu confirmed that he would not go out in the afternoon, they walked out of the company leisurely. In the morning, because Ryoda Shinji did not go to work, she did not hear any useful information from the eavesdropping device she left, which made her a little depressed. Thinking about the lounge that he seldom used, Liang Yiyi felt that he might not be in the company when he was dealing with things. It seemed that if she wanted to know more, she had to find out where he was now. She was in too much of a hurry yesterday and just picked up a computer in the mall. The hardware configuration was really not good enough. Today she would go to the computer city to buy some things to equip her notebook so that she could at least use it easily.

After wandering around the computer mall for over two hours and buying everything he needed, Liang Yiyi bought a new computer. Because he needed to use it for confidential work, he had two identical computers, one to hide his identity and create a false impression. After buying everything, Liang Yiyi found a bathroom and put his new purchases away.

Back at the office, Liang Yiyi exchanged a few words with Liang Wenyu before retreating to the lounge to work on her renovation. By the end, the laptop, save for the original outer shell, had almost all its internal components replaced. After the installation, Liang Yiyi turned on the computer to test the results. Sure enough, the speed was significantly faster. So, she opened the firewall, which she had already partially programmed that morning, and continued working on the rest. Actually, this wasn't really programming; it was something Yiyi had used in her computer in her previous life, but it hadn't been developed yet. Liang Yiyi could only "copy" it down. Fortunately, her memory was amazing; otherwise, recalling so much information would have been a real hassle.

The only sound in the quiet room was the incessant clacking of keyboards.

The sound continued until just before dinner, when Liang Yiyi finally stopped. At this rate, it would take at least five or six hours to finish. He stretched his stiff neck and rubbed his sore wrists, looking at the fruits of his labor. While it had been ages since he'd used the computer, his speed hadn't slowed down much compared to his previous life.

He looked at his watch and saw that it was almost six o'clock. No wonder he felt a little hungry! Liang Yiyi put away his computer and left the lounge to call his second brother for dinner. When he came out, a milky white desk immediately caught his eye. "Second brother, are you done?" Liang Wenyu raised his head when he heard the voice and said with a smile, "There are still some left. I'll do them when I get home tonight. I'll clean it up right away. By the way, Yiyi, take a look at this desk. Do you like it? If not, I'll ask them to replace it with a new one." Liang Yiyi said hurriedly, "It's pretty good. Second brother, don't bother with this, right? I'll have the exam in a few days, and I won't need a new desk for a few days!" "It's not a problem. As long as you like it." Liang Wenyu said this while his hands kept cleaning up. "You decide where to put the desk so I can have someone set it up for you." Liang Yiyi thought for a moment. "The color of this desk doesn't match my second brother's office. How about putting it in the lounge? It just so happens that there's only a bed and a wardrobe in the lounge, so it's empty. When I get tired of studying, I can just sleep in it so I don't have to disturb you by going in and out. You're so thoughtful, second brother. I was busy in bed all afternoon, and my back and waist were sore. Now that I have this desk, it's much more convenient."

Liang Yiyi's words were truly sincere. It was indeed quite uncomfortable for her to sit on the bed and fiddle with the computer in the afternoon. It would be much more convenient with this table.

"Okay, then I'll have someone put the desk in the lounge later. Let's go have dinner. Second brother will take you to eat French food." Liang Wenyu said. "Second brother, aren't we going home for dinner tonight?" Liang Yiyi asked. "No, it's a bit late now. Dinner has already been served at home. Otherwise, we'll have to keep my family waiting." After saying that, Liang Wenyu made an internal call to notify someone to come up and move the desk. "Let's go. Second brother will take you to a big meal." After saying that, he took Liang Yiyi's hand and headed straight for the underground parking lot.

The Western restaurant Liang Wenyu was taking Liang Yiyi to was on Chongwenmen Street, relatively close to Liangcheng International, so they arrived quickly. "Yiyi, go up and order first. I'll find a place to park for a while," Liang Wenyu said to Yiyi. As they set off, Liang Yiyi could already sense the car from earlier in the morning following them, but she was worried. After all, she wasn't sure how strong the people in the car were. Besides, she was closer to her brother, so she could react much faster if anything happened. "Don't worry, brother. I'll go up with you. If you don't come with me, what if someone sees how cute your sister is and kidnaps me?" Liang Yiyi secretly despised herself. To achieve her goals without arousing her family's suspicion, she had to act cute. In her previous life, she was already twenty-five, married young, and had children who were two or three years old. She was almost fed up with acting so cute all the time. "Okay, then, I'll go park the car with you." Liang Wenyu was amused by Liang Yiyi's cuteness, looking doting. It was around six o'clock in the evening and there were many people eating, making parking difficult to find. The brother and sister were delayed for a while before they could enter the restaurant.

Maxim's Restaurant has been in business for a long time, dating back to the 1980s. It's quite famous, serving authentic French cuisine. Liang Yiyi had heard of it in her previous life, but had never had the opportunity to dine there. The original owner of this life had never been there either, so this was Liang Yiyi's first time there. Piano music was playing in the restaurant, and Yiyi listened carefully. It was "May Be" by Korean pianist Yiruma. It sounded refreshing and soothing. The restaurant's decor made one feel like stepping into a 19th-century French palace. Yiyi's favorite features were the crystal chandeliers and wall lamps; the warm tones of the light were very inviting. The walls were covered in vintage classical murals, and even the ceiling was covered in vibrant patterns.

The waiter led them to their pre-arranged table. Liang Wenyu asked Yiyi what she wanted. Liang Yiyi took a look at the menu: "A vegetable salad, Paris cream mushroom soup, pan-fried cod, and a medium-rare steak for main. I don't like sweets, so I won't order dessert. Bring me a cup of black tea." After ordering, he handed the menu to the waiter. Liang Wenyu didn't even bother to look at the menu. "Just two of the same thing, and a grilled lamb chop."

The restaurant was still quite crowded at this time of day, but it didn't seem too busy. After ordering, Liang Yiyi continued to admire the restaurant's decor, occasionally chatting quietly with Liang Wenyu. It wasn't long before the waiters arrived, and Liang Yiyi, already hungry, stopped talking and the two of them enjoyed their meal.
