Upon seeing Ge Sanlin, Gao Yu was startled and was about to turn over and point at him when she cried out. Seeing this, Liang Qi, who was beside her, quickly covered Gao Yu's mouth and pressed her back down.
Gao Yu stared at Liang Qi with wide eyes, then pointed downwards at the man carrying a broadsword walking in front of the servants.
Liang Qi also turned his head down, nodded to Gao Yu to indicate that he had also seen it, and whispered, "Don't make a sound, there's danger."
Gao Yu nodded, and the others on the roof turned to Ge Sanlin, as well as the man in full armor. The man was standing in front of the bound students and teachers and made a throat-slitting gesture towards Ge Sanlin.
Then Ge Sanlin followed another lean man carrying a broadsword. The two of them, one on the left and one on the right, each wielding a sword, and then the heads of the servants were all cut off.
The man in the bronze-green armor raised his thick arm, pointed at the students standing in the first row, and made a whipping motion. Then, every student in that row was whipped.
The man in the bronze-green armor sneered at Yuan Bieyun, then gave Yun Bieyun a sinister, malicious grin, saying, "General Yun says you share the same ancestry and would like you to write a proclamation for the old general."
Yun Bieyun's face was ashen, and the flesh on his chubby face trembled. Because he was tied up with ropes and guarded by soldiers on both sides, he was so angry that his eyes were bloodshot.
The man in the bronze-green armor shouted menacingly, "First row!"
Ge Sanlin was the first to be attacked. With his fierce appearance, he raised his knife and slashed with each step. In the blink of an eye, all the students in the first row fell to the ground.
The body in the chest cavity shot up more than ten feet high, and the blood splattered all over Yuan Bieyun's face.
The man in the bronze-green armor leaned back, took a step forward, and stood in front of Yun Bieyun. He patted his face and laughed heartily.
Suddenly, Yuan Bieyun spat out a mouthful of blood and fainted.
The man in bronze-silver armor, seeing Yun Bieyun faint, cursed in annoyance, "Coward! I thought someone who dared to run into a pillar in the palace would have some guts!"
He waved his hand again, signaling two soldiers to help Yun Bieyun up, and hurriedly said, "Gag him, quick, gag him."
He then waved to the soldiers watching the students and said, "Withdraw, put all the students on the carts."
Liang Qi watched as the group of people hurriedly retreated. Before leaving, he poured some clear oil on the main hall and then threw up a torch.
Liang Qi lay on the roof, watching the group of people come down the mountain, then jumped down and caught them one by one.
After waiting for another 45 minutes, Liang Qi led his men down the mountain. The carriage was gone from where it had been parked; instead, it lay scattered haphazardly nearby.
Liang Qi left a group of people to wait at the foot of the mountain, then hurriedly ran into the woods and drove out the donkey cart.
Once out of the woods, his companions boarded the donkey cart, and Liang Qi hurriedly drove towards the west gate, hoping to get out of the east gate before dark.
The donkey cart had only been traveling for a quarter of an hour when it came into view of the west gate. Unexpectedly, a small squad of soldiers suddenly appeared from the side, each carrying a broadsword, dressed exactly like the soldiers in the academy.
When the soldiers saw the donkey cart passing by, they didn't ask any questions and immediately slashed at the driver with their swords. Liang Qi dodged the swords and kicked the man who attacked him in the chest, causing him to spit out a mouthful of blood.
Liang Qi jumped off the donkey cart and called out to Shi Lei.
Hearing the shout, Shi Lei said to Xu Fanyuan, "You go and chase me away, I'll go help Liang Qi."
The two jumped off the donkey cart one after the other.
Xu Fan jumped onto the cart shaft, took the whip, and controlled the donkey that was swaying from side to side.
Gao Lei and Hu Banxia, who were in the carport, were about to get off when Xiaoyue quickly stopped them: "You two should just stay put. Getting off will only drag Liang Qi down."
The seven men surrounded Liang Qi and Li Lei. Liang Qi kicked out first, snatched a broadsword from one of them, and handed it to Li Lei. Liang Qi then dodged a sweeping slash, pushed forward with his right hand, and took another sword.
With a knife in hand, Liang Qi was even more powerful. The soldiers were no match for him. In just a few moves, one of the soldiers fell to the ground, but none of them died.
Just as Liang Qi had knocked everyone down and was turning to help Li Lei, a soldier leaped up from the ground and slashed Liang Qi hard in the back with his knife.
Liang Qi turned around and glared at the soldier who had ambushed him. Without saying a word, he chopped off the soldier's head. After that, he was like a god of death, leaving no wounds on the soldiers lying on the ground. He ended the lives of all the soldiers.
Liang Qi and Li Lei, who were carrying the back, fought with seven soldiers each. Liang Qi was ambushed in the back and slashed. Liang Qi turned around and kicked the man's head off. Liang Qi did not want to kill anyone.
Then, he chopped off the head of the man behind Shi Lei with a single stroke.
Li Lei had been slashed four or five times, but fortunately none of them were fatal; he had just lost a lot of blood.
As Liang Qi helped Shi Lei to chase after the donkey cart, an arrow was shot from afar, heading straight for Liang Qi's back.
Hearing the wind, Liang Qi tried to dodge, but failed and was shot in the shoulder. Liang Qi didn't care about being hit by an arrow at all, as he had been injured quite a few times in Shiwei. He only wanted to catch up with the donkey cart and remove the arrow.
As Xu Fanyuan was rushing toward the north gate, he suddenly stopped his donkey cart. He saw that there were soldiers three or four times over, as well as tents pitched outside the city.
Xu Fan called out to Xiaoyue.
Xiaoyue saw the figures ahead through the window and said to Xu Fanyuan, "Let's go to the woods below the old academy."
