Chapter 39 Li Mu in a Coma

Li Mu returned to her room, washed up briefly, and then lay down on the bed and fell asleep.

Qin Yin, on the other hand, couldn't sleep. He leaned back lazily on the sofa, his legs crossed, one hand tapping the armrest of the sofa, looking somewhat lost in thought, with a smile on his lips.

Coming to his senses, he picked up the glass of red wine beside him, took a sip, and then leisurely swirled the wine in his hand.

A ringing bell broke the silence.

Qin Yin glanced at it, snorted coldly, took another sip of red wine, and then slowly answered the phone.

An urgent voice came from the other end of the phone: "Chairman Qin, this is Ling Chenfeng. Please release my son. I will take full responsibility."

Qin Yin couldn't help but laugh out loud after hearing this, his cold and emotionless voice carrying over.

Mr. Ling, on what grounds do you expect me to release him? Your son dares to run amok in my business; could it be that you've benefited from it?

How dare you do such a despicable thing to my customers in my hotel, ruining my hotel's reputation? Can you afford to take responsibility for that?

You'd better know who you're talking to. You can't afford to take that responsibility. As for when to release your son, that's my business. If you have the power to make me release him, feel free to do so.

After saying that, Qin Yin hung up the phone.

Qin Yin, don't be too arrogant. Sooner or later, I will trample you under my feet.

Ling's mother paced back and forth anxiously.

Ling's father was getting a little annoyed. "Just shut up for a second."

Ling's mother angrily said, "You are a complete waste. You can't save your son, so all you know is to yell at me."

Ling's father was furious after being rebuked like that. "Do you think you can save your son just by walking around like that?"

Ling Hui walked in at that moment and overheard his parents blaming each other, and that his younger brother had also gotten into trouble.

It was a real headache, but there was nothing I could do but patiently tell the two of them that I had received news about my parents and younger brother. In the evening, one of my men saw him being carried away by two bodyguards. He should be out of danger, but he is currently unconscious.

When Ling's parents heard that there was news about their youngest son, Ling's father, who was relatively calm, quickly asked, "Do you have the exact location?"

Ling Hui quickly said that the person in question seemed to be well-trained and not an ordinary bodyguard.

After listening, Ling's father said thoughtfully, "You mean it's possible that..."

Ling Hui nodded. It was possible. After all, the Qin family controlled nearly half of China's military and political power, and their foundation was unfathomable. Qin Yin was also the current head of the Qin family, so it was not surprising.

After listening, Ling's father murmured, "It seems we can only wait for Qin Yin to release them; there's nothing we can do to save them."

After saying that, he slumped into a chair, looking somewhat dejected.

The Ling family had considered entering politics, and they had spent a great deal of energy and money on it.

Those people were always very respectful to him and would grant his every request, but when it came to arranging for the Ling family members to enter politics, they all immediately turned into quails.

As for the military, forget about it. It seems the Ling family can't escape the vicious cycle of the underworld. There's a vague feeling that an invisible hand is controlling everything from behind.

For decades, the Ling family has never been able to shake off its identity as a criminal gang. Even Ling Hui could only develop his career in the underworld. Now, he has completely taken over the position of the old master Ling and become the new president of the Tianlang Society.

The more I think about it, the more frustrated and helpless I feel.

However, it wasn't that no one from the Ling family entered politics. Through the Ling family's continuous efforts, a group of people did enter politics under their control. However, their power was still too limited, and they were insignificant compared to the Li family, let alone the Qin family. Moreover, they weren't even members of the Ling family; they were just tools cultivated by the Ling family.

Growing angrier by the thought, Ling's father angrily dialed someone's number and said, "I need you to do something."

The person on the other end immediately declared, "You saved my life, so my life belongs to you."

Do everything in your power to kill Li Mu. I want her dead.

The person on the other end of the phone immediately said, "Okay, please wait for my good news."

After the call ended, Ling's mother gave her an approving look.

Seeing his mother, who seemed to thrive on chaos, nod in agreement, Ling Hui looked genuinely worried. After calming himself down, he said with some disapproval, "Mom, don't add fuel to the fire." He then looked at his father, "Dad, the Li family is closely related to the political world and holds considerable influence. I think this matter is inappropriate."

"Alright, alright, stop talking," Ling's father said, somewhat annoyed, stopping Ling Hui from trying to dissuade him further.

Seeing the worry on his son's face, he took a deep breath and said, "We don't know who is in charge of the Li family yet, so we can take this opportunity to bring that person to the surface."

Ling Hui seemed to suddenly understand, and scratched his head somewhat embarrassedly.

Li Mu and Lu Wan went to the bookstore to buy books.

"Wanwan, wait a moment, I'll go get the car," Li Mu said, then turned and walked towards the parking lot.

The parking lot was dimly lit, but suddenly the lights came on and Li Mu subconsciously looked up and stopped in his tracks.

A van sped around, and Li Mu reacted quickly to dodge it, but was still grazed and fell to the ground.

The van slammed on its brakes a short distance away, and the driver jumped out of the car.

Li Mu stood up with some difficulty, and turned around unsteadily, trying to see the license plate number clearly.

The parking lot was so dark that it was impossible to see anything.

A person got off the car; only a black silhouette could be seen, and their face was obscured.

A flash of light, and Li Mu struggled to dodge. Another slash, and Li Mu, having exerted too much force, fainted, just in time to avoid the slash that was about to cut his neck.

The knife tip was aimed at Li Mu's throat and plunged in forcefully.

Bang! A gunshot rang out in the parking lot. It hit the man's hand holding the knife, and the knife slipped from his grasp.

The man gritted his teeth and, enduring the pain, picked up the knife from the ground with his other intact hand and swung it at Li Mu again.

Another bang rang out, and this time the gunshot hit the other hand precisely.

Both of his hands were shot open with two bloody holes, and he knelt on the ground howling in pain.

After the gunshot, several bodyguards rushed up and surrounded the man. In the darkness, a tall and imposing figure walked slowly with steady steps.

He bent down and picked up Li Mu, then said to the bodyguard, "Take this person back."

The bodyguards agreed and knocked the man unconscious with a single blow, then carried him into the car. Another bodyguard quickly stepped forward, opened the car door for him, and then got in as well. The car started and drove to the bookstore. Qin Yin rolled down the window, waved to Lu Wan, and got in.

Lu Wan, not understanding why, saw that Li Mu was also in the car, and then took small steps to sit in the passenger seat.

The car drove into the Qin family's manor, and Qin Yin picked up Li Mu, whose long legs were long, and strode into the residence with steady steps.

Because Qin Yin had long legs and walked fast, Lu Wan, who was following behind, had to jog to keep up.
