Extra Story of Yan Xiaoqian (Part 1)

Cold winter, early morning.

The snowflakes fell as expected, covering the ground with a thick blanket. The ginkgo trees with golden leaves also looked like they were dressed in silver.

Yan Xiaoqian turned over lazily in the quilt. After waking up for a while, she put on her slippers and walked to the window.

“Wow!”

Draw open the curtains and the snow-white world comes into view.

"Wow, it's snowing! The weather forecast was pretty accurate this time."

Yan Xiaoqian lay on the windowsill excitedly, watching the people downstairs slowly clearing the snow on the road.

After a night of precipitation, the snow had accumulated to the height of the calves, and when it fell on the parked cars, it looked like freshly baked fluffy and soft cream cakes.

The girl took a few photos before putting down her phone and jumping to wash up.

Yan Xiaoqian spent the entire morning drawing designs at home. It was not until the sun came out at noon and the snow outside stopped that she put down her pen and stretched.

Half a year has passed since Yan Xiaoqian graduated from university. She doesn't have to worry about finding a job because she already has the job she wants most, which is being a fashion designer. Her teacher, Ivan, who is abroad, sends her abroad for study and exchange almost every month, so Yan Xiaoqian's level is also steadily improving.

More importantly, she already has her own design brand at a young age. This brand has now gained a foothold in China and is planning to expand internationally. Everything is moving in a good direction.

Whenever she thinks of these, Yan Xiaoqian will cherish them even more, cherish her friends, and cherish everything she has.

She used to think that her future would be bleak and dull, but now she has everything thanks to her two good friends Gu Xun and Liu Yusa. This is a friendship worth cherishing for a lifetime!

She opened her phone and found a group chat with three people, and sent the photos of the snow scene she had just taken.

She didn't know when it started, but she stopped keeping her heart closed and learned to share.

Yan Xiaoqian put down her phone with a smile on her face and looked at the calendar on the table.

"Today is already the 16th day of the twelfth lunar month, and the Chinese New Year is almost here..."

"Well, work harder this week and give yourself a break starting next week."

Yan Xiaoqian muttered to herself, then put on her clothes and went out to buy groceries.

Even when she is alone, she never lives her life perfunctorily. Such days are hard to come by, and she will treat every second seriously.

Now, Yan Xiaoqian lives alone in a two-story villa, which is some distance away from the city center. This is the most reasonably priced and favorite villa she has seen after looking at many.

She needs to create, so she needs a relatively quiet environment.

She went to the yard and looked at the brand new pink Mercedes parked in the garage, then looked at the snow on the road and shook her head.

She turned her head to look at the yellow electric car again, swallowed, and finally chose to walk.

I dare not do this with her half-baked skills!

In the blink of an eye, it was the 26th day of the twelfth lunar month, and every household began to hang red curtains on their windows.

Yan Xiaoqian is no exception. This is the first time that the house she has lived in for half a year has felt so festive.

After Yan Xiaoqian packed a suitcase, she carefully checked the doors and windows and locked the door.

Although I already have my own house, of course I still have to go home and spend the New Year with my family.

She looked at the trunk full of New Year's goods, hummed a little tune and started the car.

They arrived at the village safely. Yan Xiaoqian's parents and sister were already waiting at the gate to greet them.

Looking at the scene in front of her, she felt a little emotional.

Because of DEEP LOVE, Yan Xiaoqian has made a lot of money in the past two years. In addition to buying a house and a car for herself, she has also made a lot of improvements to her family.

The original dirt yard is now paved with tiles, so there is no need to worry about it being muddy on rainy days.

The doors and windows that used to let in a gust of wind in the winter have now been replaced with new double-glazed doors and windows. The house has also been installed with heating and more automated appliances.

Even that ignorant and introverted sister started talking to her more and became more enthusiastic...

Yan Xiaoqian could naturally see that her family’s attitude towards her was much better than before. Was this snobbery?

Yes and no.

It’s more because of the helplessness of life.

Yan Xiaoqian's mother has always loved her. She never doubted that her stepfather was not good to her, but he did not abuse her either. Even though she was dissatisfied with him in the past, now seeing his increasingly hunched back and fine lines at the corners of his eyes, she really couldn't bear to treat him differently, nor could she bear to let her mother be caught in the middle.

As for this younger sister, she is also a pitiful person. Children in rural areas are already far behind those in cities at the starting line, and their lack of money makes their situation even worse. Now she can make their lives richer and better, which also makes her feel at ease.

"Mom, Dad, Sister, I'm back."

"Hurry, it's cold outside, come in."

"Oh, why did you buy so many things? I said we have everything we need at home."

Yan Xiaoqian opened the trunk and took out everything inside.

"It's Chinese New Year, so I should do this. Mom bought you a coat. You've always wanted one."

"Oh, this kid."

"Dad, I brought you two bottles of Moutai."

"Oh, good, good!"

"Sister, I bought you a learning tablet. You must study hard when you go to high school next year."

"Why did you buy me something for studying?"

Yan Xiaoqian tapped her sister's forehead.

"You can do other things, too. What else can you do? Study hard, and I'll take you on a trip after the high school entrance exam next year."

"Really?"

"real……"

The originally quiet courtyard suddenly became lively because of Yan Xiaoqian's return.

"Oh, you got a kitten? They're so cute!"

"Your mom said it looked like it was about to freeze to death, so she took pity on it and brought it back."

"Wow, that's great, what a cute little Sanhua."

"Come on, eat, eat, you must be hungry after all this journey..."

"Um!"

Happy and lively days always pass quickly, and the New Year in the village is always full of the festive atmosphere.

There have been continuous sounds of firecrackers since New Year's Eve, which has been a plight for the kittens and puppies. They were frightened by the noise and didn't dare to eat for several days.

Yan Xiaoqian also set off fireworks with her sister on New Year’s Eve, and the whole family watched the Spring Festival Gala together.

For a moment, even though the wind outside was freezing cold, Yan Xiaoqian felt extremely warm in her heart.

On the second day of the Chinese New Year, Yan Xiaoqian ran to her grandparents' house to see them early in the morning.

Because the marriages of the older generation were arranged by matchmakers in the surrounding area, Yan Xiaoqian's grandparents lived in the next village, only three or two kilometers away. There was no need to drive, she could just walk there.

Yan Xiaoqian stayed at her second hometown until the afternoon, then wrapped herself in a coat and walked back alone.

Looking at the road I have walked countless times since I was a child, memories keep flooding into my mind.

But it's not such a good memory.
