Chapter 50 It’s dark under the lamp!
The two women immediately looked back in alarm, but all they could see was the tightly closed door.
Shen Lanxi deliberately shouted loudly, "You two aren't doing your work properly, but instead you're curious to see what exiled prisoners look like? They're all wicked and heinous criminals; one look at them and you'll lose a piece of flesh. You two have quite the nerve!"

The refugees were terrified and cried out in despair; no one dared to run anymore. Then these people drove them away like animals, beating anyone who cried loudly, and chopping off the hands of anyone who tried to escape.
After walking for nearly two more hours, they arrived at the foot of a mountain. A dozen or so men carrying swords came down from the mountain and handed them over to the people who had brought them there. Then, the men with swords drove them up the mountain.
Before long, they were led to a cave.
She overheard someone say, "Another fifty-six black rats have been sent over. You can decide how to distribute them. Sixth Brother told me to tell you that several of his black rats have fallen into their holes, and he wants you to assign a few more!"

Shen Lanxi acted swiftly, covering her mouth with one hand and stuffing a hard-boiled egg into her hand with the other.
"Don't make a sound, it's me!" she whispered in Shen Yuanxin's ear.
The latter froze instantly, then choked up even louder the next second.
A low murmur of curses rang out.
"If we keep wailing and attract those people, we'll all be dead!"
Upon hearing the insults, Shen Yuanxin dared not cry anymore and quickly clutched the eggs in her hand.
"I think I smell eggs?"
"Are you dreaming?"
"Yeah, it must be a dream. How could there possibly be an egg flavor here!"
Shen Lanxi led Shen Yuanxin quietly into the cave.
"Big sister..." Shen Yuanxin called out, her voice trembling with tears.
Shen Lanxi: "What happened? How did you all get here?"
Shen Yuanxin quickly explained, "We were taken away from the post station in the middle of the night. The people at the post station are in cahoots with the people here! Big sister, please go and save the other sisters, they've all been taken to Xiaoyao Cave!"
"I heard them say that Xiaoyao Cave is... a place where women are violated!"
"I was dressed as a man, so they thought I was a man and assigned me to dig stones here!"
