Chapter 355: Things Get Out of Hand!
Shen Lanxi's face was filled with an unyielding sarcasm.
"I never expected that you would think of me that way."
Shen Yuantang's eyes darted around in a panic, but he didn't dare to meet Shen Lanxi's gaze.
"Elder sister, I am now the prince's woman. As the saying goes, one obeys one's father at home and one's husband after marriage. Is it wrong for me to consider the prince's needs more after I get married?"
She did nothing wrong. In the eyes of outsiders, the Shen family was already on the same boat as the prince, so why pretend to be something they weren't? Of course, they should do everything in their power to help her and the prince!
Shen Lanxi looked at Shen Yuantang again, her eyes filled with nothing but indifference.
I hope you remember what I say today, so you won't regret it later!
Shen Yuantang didn't come here today to break ties with his older sister, nor did he intend to force her to say anything about breaking ties.
She was also angered by her older sister's accusatory tone, and she repeatedly put the important matter aside.
"Big sister, if you still consider me your little sister, please help me!" Although Shen Yuantang said this as a plea, her tone was coercive.
Shen Lanxi sneered, "Go back now. You're already married. Don't come here to my mansion again."
Shen Yuantang's face turned ashen. Why was her eldest sister still so stubborn? It seemed they were right. Her eldest sister appeared nonchalant, saying she didn't care about the prince, but in reality, she planned not to marry him, nor would she allow anyone else to marry him.
The older sister is truly selfish and vicious!
"Big sister, can't you think about me? I'm your own sister."
Shen Lanxi: "I'm going to find Zhou Ruyuan right now and get to the bottom of this. What kind of man is he, wanting to make a name for himself, but pushing a woman out to ask for it!"
Shen Yuantang panicked: "It wasn't the prince who sent me, I came of my own accord, you are not allowed to go to the prince."
Shen Lanxi turned and walked out. She never indulged relatives like that.
"Stop right there! You're not allowed to go!"
Shen Yuantang screamed and rushed towards Shen Lanxi, but was stopped by the female guards before she could get close.
Shen Lanxi headed straight for the Zhennan Prince's Mansion without looking back.
When Shen Yuantang saw that she didn't even try to avoid the topic, his face turned pale and he screamed repeatedly.
“Go find my grandmother.”
"Go find my mother, quick..."
Shen Lanxi rode her horse, almost swaggering through the city, to the Zhennan Prince's Mansion.
"Call Zhou Ruyuan out!" Shen Lanxi shouted from her horse.
Behind him followed a horse, on which sat Shen Yuantang, bound hand and foot, along with female guards from Ruoran's mansion.
The steward of the Prince of Zhennan's mansion was terrified when he saw this scene.
This scene reminded him of when Shen Lanxi came knocking on his door demanding her dowry. Although it eventually came to nothing, the Prince's Mansion had lost face.
"The Prince is not in the manor, he really is not in the manor!" The steward dared not lie and quickly shouted.
"Where did he go? Send someone to call him back!" She had no intention of backing down; if she was going to make a scene, she was going to make a scene.
The steward dared not say a word and quickly ordered the guards to go find someone.
In front of outsiders, we still had to give the prince face, so we couldn't say we were looking for someone, we had to say we were reporting it!
"My lord, may I ask what business you have with our prince?" the steward asked obsequiously, while gesturing to his servants to drive away the onlookers.
Shen Lanxi pointed to the person struggling on horseback behind her and asked, "Is Shen Yuantang a concubine in your household?"
The steward was taken aback, cautiously looked up, and thought to himself, "Oh dear," before quickly replying, "Yes, the concubine bestowed by His Majesty."
Shen Lanxi: "Just admit she's from your household! Today she came to my residence and spouted nonsense, asking me to seek benefits for the Prince's Mansion. I'd like to ask, is this Zhou Ruyuan's idea?"
Who would dare to answer that?
The butler turned pale with fright and broke out in a cold sweat.
"His Highness will be back soon. Why don't you come inside for some tea? We have some of the finest spring tea."
Shen Lanxi raised her hand: "No need. I've had your tea before. I don't like it!"
All the butler could do was wipe his sweat.
Is this something that can be said openly?
The former princess really doesn't give the royal family any face at all!
"The prince is really coming back soon..."
Shen Lanxi sat on her horse and waited.
Zhou Ruyuan went to the military camp. Fortunately, he had instructed the household to find him at the camp if anything happened, so it didn't take too long. Otherwise, Shen Lanxi could have waited at the gate of the Prince's mansion all day.
Zhou Ruyuan had not arrived yet, but the Shen family members had arrived first.
"Lanxi, what are you doing?" Old Madam Shen looked like she was about to faint, and kept tapping her cane.
Chunxue explained the whole story to the Shen family in detail, and the Shen family members were all speechless.
They came in a great hurry to plead for mercy, but unexpectedly, it was Shen Yuantang who was causing trouble.
"Lanxi, even if Yuantang is wrong, we should still give her face in public. After all, she and you are siblings from the same mother!" Old Madam Shen was still panting heavily.
Shen Lanxi: "Grandmother, it's because we share the same mother that I have to strictly discipline her, so as not to let her alone implicate the entire Shen family!"
That's what they say, but to just tie him up like that and throw him on horseback, and then get out...
"Lanxi, the reputation of the young ladies in this household is already quite bad, and there are still quite a few young men in the family who are not yet engaged." After saying this earnestly, Old Madam Shen glared fiercely at Shen Yuantang.
Why couldn't you discuss things at home first? Don't you know what kind of person Shen Lanxi is? You dared to rush in so recklessly; you're just asking for humiliation and courting death.
"Give Grandma some face, put her down, and don't take the food out of her mouth!" Listening to her talk is upsetting.
Shen Yuantang's face was streaked with tears, and he was too exhausted to struggle anymore.
She wanted to go to her grandmother for help, but she was being held down by the female guards and was tied up, so she couldn't get through at all.
Grandmother just watched helplessly as Shen Lanxi tied her up, without saying anything about untying her or seeking justice for her.
Just wait and see how they explain themselves to the prince when he returns!
"Lanxi, the street is not the place to talk. If there's something to say, let's go back to the manor or into the Prince's manor to talk." Old Madam Shen was already exhausted, both physically and mentally.
These troublesome things at home can't let her have a peaceful rest.
"Listen to Grandmother, let's go back to the Shen family!"
A large group of people had only walked a few dozen meters when Zhou Ruyuan arrived with his men.
"Wait!"
Shen Lanxi looked at the person rushing towards her and raised her hand to stop them.
"Lord Shen, what do you mean by this?"
The steward quickly stepped forward to recount what had happened. This was what he had just heard from Chunxue. Many people had overheard this, and he still had to deal with it.
When Shen Yuantang saw Zhou Ruyuan arrive, he immediately began to struggle.
Zhou Ruyuan glanced at her first, then looked away, dismounted, and walked up to Shen Lanxi.
"Given our current relationship, we're not enemies, so let's go inside and talk!"
Shen Lanxi: "No need. When I left, I swore that I would never set foot in the Zhennan Prince's Mansion again!"
Zhou Ruyuan's eyes darkened, and he clenched his fists involuntarily.
