Du Chen and his family went out and first drove to the downstairs of Lao Ding's house. As soon as they stopped the car, they saw Lao Ding and his family coming out of the unit door.
"Old Ding, have you given the police a heads-up?"
Comrade Lao Du did not get out of the car, but lowered the window and asked Lao Ding.
"We agreed on this yesterday. Let's go to the police station to pick up the car!"
Because the train to Guangzhou can only depart from the city’s train station, Comrade Lao Du and his team had to go to the city first and then take the train.
Therefore, Lao Ding contacted his colleagues at the police station yesterday and asked them to drive the police car to take them to the city. There were eight people from two families, plus Lao Ding's two colleagues, so there were exactly ten people in two cars. Lao Ding's colleagues would then drive the car back to the police station, which would be convenient.
Du Chen and Du Bin got out of the car to accompany Jia Xiaomin and Ding Miaomiao. The two families were now chatting under the shade of the trees.
"Xiao Jia, where have you traveled?"
Ren Surong asked Jia Xiaomin curiously, she was very happy to go to Guangzhou this time. She had never been to the south and wondered if she could see the sea in Guangzhou.
"Where can we go with Old Ding? We've only been to the capital, and oh, Guisui."
"Guisui, have you ever seen the prairie?"
"No, that was when we just got married, before we even had Miaomiao. Lao Ding was training in Guisui, and he broke his ankle. I took care of him for over a month, staying in the hospital every day. I didn't go anywhere!"
Jia Xiaomin got angry when she talked about this. Not long after getting married, she had to work as a housekeeper to serve her husband for more than a month. She said she had been to Meng Province, but she had not even walked around for thousands of meters!
Ding Miaomiao couldn't help laughing while listening to it. Just when Ding Miaomiao was about to speak, 212 and a police car stopped in front of everyone.
"Let's get in the car and go!"
Jia Xiaomin glared fiercely at Lao Ding who was sitting in the passenger seat. Lao Ding was a little confused by his wife's glare and didn't know what his wife was going crazy about again.
We chatted and laughed along the way and soon arrived at the train station.
"Du Bin, Miao Miao, you two must take good care of your brothers and sisters! Follow us closely and don't get lost!"
As soon as everyone stood up, Comrade Lao Du reminded Du Bin and Ding Miaomiao that there were too many people at the train station and Comrade Lao Du was afraid of problems.
On the other side, Lao Ding told his two colleagues to drive slowly on the way back.
"Let's go, Lao Ding, it's time to get to the station! If you wait any longer, your tickets will be checked!"
“Here I come!”
…
Looking at the scenery outside the window that was constantly receding, Du Chen suddenly became interested, so he took out the camera from the bag behind him and prepared to take a few random photos.
"Chenchen, can you still take pictures?"
Gu Yue, who was happily watching from the side, asked Du Chen in surprise.
"Yes, Sister Yueyue, strike a pose and I'll take a few photos of you!"
Du Chen, who had just gotten on the train, was in a good mood, so he said to Gu Yue.
Comrade Lao Du glanced at Du Chen and the others, then continued to sit there and play poker.
"Brother, Sister Miaomiao, come over here too! Let's take a picture together!"
“Here I come!”
Du Bin and Ding Miaomiao also answered happily.
Looking through the viewfinder at the smiling faces of several people, Du Chen couldn't help but smile.
"Come on, let's take a picture together!"
Du Chen handed the camera to Comrade Lao Du and asked Comrade Lao Du to help take a photo.
"Sister Miaomiao, where is Yangcheng? Is it far?"
After taking some photos for a while, they all sat on the bed and chatted. Gu Yue asked Ding Miaomiao curiously.
"Yueyue, Yangcheng is in the south of our country. Look, it's right here!"
Ding Miaomiao took out a small map, pointed at Guangzhou and said to Ding Miaomiao, "Nowadays, a map is a must-have when going out, and you have to know how to read a map, otherwise you will get lost when you go out to play."
"Chenchen, do you think Guangzhou is just like what they show on TV? With tall buildings everywhere and cars lining the streets?"
Du Bin asked Du Chen curiously.
"About the same? I haven't been to Guangzhou either."
…
After two days and two nights of trekking, on the morning of the third day, Du Chen and his group finally arrived at their destination, Yangcheng.
"Dear passengers, this train is about to arrive at its final destination, Yangcheng Railway Station. Please check the luggage racks and coat hooks for any belongings you may have, to avoid leaving them on board..."
"Kids, grab your things, it's time to get off the bus!"
Comrade Lao Du was directing everyone, while Lao Ding put on his own uniform. This idea was thought up by Du Chen. After all, train stations are often the most chaotic places in a city, and wearing a public security uniform would be somewhat intimidating.
Du Chen had a good idea. Old Ding, who was wearing a uniform, took the lead, Du Chen and the other kids were in the middle, and Old Du and the others were at the back. They walked out of the train station smoothly. A few touts stepped aside when they saw Old Ding.
Du Chen walked out of the train station and looked around. What caught his eye were tall buildings and young ladies in hot clothes. It was worthy of being one of the earliest cities in China to implement reform and opening up.
"Lao Du, where are we going?"
Looking at the tall buildings everywhere and the cars passing by on the streets from time to time, Lao Ding was a little at a loss.
"Don't worry, I contacted my comrades before leaving. Let's look for him. I think he's nearby!"
Du Chen was still observing his surroundings, and soon he saw a middle-aged man standing on the side of the road, holding a piece of corrugated cardboard in his hand with "Du Jianye" written on it.
"Dad, can you see if that's your comrade?"
Du Chen pulled Comrade Lao Du's sleeve and pointed at the middle-aged man on the side of the road.
