As Du Chen had expected, the afternoon before school was bustling with activity, far more so than in the morning or at lunchtime. Most of the time, people were buying snacks. Many students also wanted popsicles and ice packs. It was a shame they hadn't bought a freezer yet; otherwise, they'd have earned a lot more.
Du Chen and Du Bin slept for twenty minutes at noon. After that, students came one after another. They were waiting in groups at the school gate before the school gate. Du Chen and Du Bin couldn't sleep anymore, so they got up to help their parents sell things.
Once the school gate opened, there were fewer students visible, but Liu Yi came early to help.
"Liu Yi, you don't have to come here specially to let your parents talk to you." Du Chen said to Liu Yi.
"It's okay. My parents ignored me when they heard I wanted to play with you. They told me to come over quickly."
"Well, I've become a shield." Du Chen thought secretly in his heart.
Seeing that it was almost time, Du Chen walked towards the school with Liu Yi. When they arrived at the classroom, most of the students had come over. Du Chen found the students who had rented books at noon and handed the money to one of them.
"Zhang Hao, here's the deposit for you at noon. You don't need to pay a deposit if you want to borrow books, but you have to take good care of them. You'll have to pay for any loss or damage. Also, don't bring them to school, or the teacher might confiscate them. There were too many people at noon, so I couldn't waive your deposit. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to explain to others." Zhang Hao, a second-grade kid, didn't know what politeness was. He took the money directly when Du Chen handed it to him and thanked Du Chen at the same time.
"But don't tell anyone else, and also introduce my store to your friends." Du Chen reminded again.
As they were talking, the bell rang for preparation, and Du Chen hurried back to his seat. The first class was taught by the head teacher, Old Wu, so Du Chen didn't dare to get angry.
While the class was going on here, Du Chen's parents were taking inventory of the merchandise in the store.
"Wife, I have to go to work tomorrow. I have taken several days off." Old Du said to Du Chen's mother while packing.
"Well, you go to work tomorrow, I can do it myself."
"If I don't drive, I'll come here after get off work at noon." Lao Du continued.
"Since we're opening today, let's invite Lao Zhang and Lao Zhou to have dinner together tonight. Let's also invite those two policemen from last time. They didn't confiscate the cigarettes I gave them last time." Du Chen's father said after thinking for a while.
"Okay, where do we eat?"
"Let's just stay in the store. The place is big, so we can just stay here. Going to a restaurant is too expensive, and we may drink for a long time at night." Comrade Lao Du thought for a while and said.
"Look, you can eat in the store. I'll go out and buy some food to prepare it."
"Okay, I'll look after the store. You go buy some groceries, some ready-made food, and five bottles of wine, just in case."
"Just drink well! Why buy some wine?" Du Chen's mother scolded Comrade Lao Du when she heard about five bottles of wine, but she didn't say much. The day after Du Chen got into a fight, Comrade Lao Du went to the police station with two packs of cigarettes. However, he was kicked out before he could finish his conversation or even ask the man's name.

"I'm here today for something else. My wife opened a small shop in front of the primary school. I'd like you to go over and check it out today to see if there's anything that needs improvement and whether there are any safety hazards." Comrade Lao Du said, changing the subject.
