Chapter 37 The upcoming midterm exam

"Can you sell them quickly?" Du Chen's mother asked. She was a little worried, after all, fifteen Walkmans were worth money and were considered relatively expensive items in the store.

"I'm not sure, let's try."

After lunch, Du Bin continued to study in the house. Du Chen also looked at the tapes one by one. Most of them were the songs he needed. He took apart one tape and listened to it on the tape recorder. It was okay and he was not cheated.

"Is the Walkman back?" The young man from yesterday came over and asked impatiently as soon as he came in.

"You're back. Come on, try it." Du Chen took out the Walkman from the counter and took two No. 5 batteries from the side and handed them to the young man.

The young man hurriedly took the Walkman and installed the batteries. Du Chen then handed him a tape. The young man put on headphones and started listening.

"Okay, no problem! Recommend me another tape, but it has to include the two songs from yesterday." The young man took off his headphones and said to Du Chen.

"Ok." The transaction was successful, and Du Chen, in a good mood, said something in English.

"Big brother, I see that you also like listening to music. How about this, you recommend the Walkman to your friends and colleagues. If you bring one over and buy one, I'll give you a cassette?" Du Chen picked out two cassettes and handed them to the young man.

The young man was a little excited, but also a little embarrassed.

"Isn't this a bit bad?"

"What's wrong with this? Big brother, you've listened to the Walkman too. It's pretty good, isn't it? It's convenient. You can listen to music anytime while walking to work. I'm not lying. I'll give the same amount to the friend you introduced as you paid for it, so you can get a good deal." Du Chen said to the young man.

"Think about it, it costs five dollars to buy a tape, and I will give you a tape for free if you introduce someone! How much money can you save! How about this, if you introduce someone, I will give you five dollars!" Du Chen continued to tempt.

"No, no, money doesn't matter. Do you keep your word? Will you introduce me to someone and give me a tape?" The young man looked at Du Chen's parents.

"That's right, keep your word!" Comrade Lao Du said directly.

"Okay, then I'll try my best to introduce you." The young man blushed a little after saying this.

"Come on, brother, listen to these tapes first. Which one do you like?" Du Chen saw that he was a little embarrassed and quickly changed the subject.

The young man breathed a sigh of relief when he heard this. Nowadays, people are still too shy to talk about benefits directly.

After listening for a long time, the young man selected three tapes and left satisfied, but he didn't know how many customers he could introduce to the company.

"Chenchen, do you think you can introduce him here?" Du Chen's mother asked from the side.

"I don't know. I guess I can introduce a few people. After all, young people like this thing, and it's embarrassing if others have it and I don't."

"Don't think too much. We are still selling it whether you introduce it or not. It just depends on how fast we sell it." Comrade Lao Du is very open-minded.

"Tsk, how much money is left there as a deposit? It would be better to sell it out quickly." Du Chen's mother said.

Hearing his wife's challenge, Comrade Lao Du wisely stopped speaking.

Throughout the afternoon, people came to buy things one after another, and a few tapes were sold. Everyone came in to inquire about the tapes after hearing the singing at the door. However, most of the people who bought tapes were young people, and the older people gave up the idea after asking about the price.

Du Chen's mother also asked Du Chen if the prices were a bit high, which was why so many people were asking but so few were buying. Du Chen said not to worry, as the audio-visual industry is highly profitable, and if he lowered the prices too much, he would kill his business.

The young man kept his promise. Because of the tape, he actually attracted several people to come over in more than a week. Three of them made the deal. The rest were mainly short of money and planned to save some money before waiting and seeing what would happen.

Du Chen's mother also followed Du Chen's agreement, giving away a cassette tape for every unit sold. Furthermore, each successful buyer was asked to refer others, all with the same conditions.

In this way, it took several days to sell one machine at the beginning. Later, the remaining goods were sold out within two days. Comrade Lao Du took the time to drive the company's car to purchase more goods.

Starting from the sale of the first unit, the total number of Walkmans sold in a month was about 50, and there were even more cassettes. In fact, cassettes were the most profitable, with high profits and fast shipments.

Once the store got on track, Du Chen stopped paying much attention to it and just helped sell the goods every day. The rest of the time he spent in class and writing. Du Bin had midterm exams coming up soon, so his parents didn't let him help out. When he went to the store, he just read and studied in the lounge.

This summer, Du Chen will be in the third grade, and Du Bin will be in the third grade of junior high school. Next year they will face the high school entrance examination.

Du Chen is still hesitating whether to skip a grade. After all, Du Chen doesn't have a clear goal of what he wants to do in the future, no matter what industry or profession, in the end it all comes down to talent.

Du Chen thought about it and decided that he didn't have any big ambitions, so he decided to take things one step at a time and just let his family be happy and safe.

Although midterm exams were approaching, Du Chen was relaxed. After all, he had attended university, and a second-grade exam was no problem. Furthermore, to make up for past regrets, Du Chen had already begun systematically studying high school knowledge.

Du Chen's parents were initially shocked when they noticed their second child was studying high school textbooks, but he was only eight years old after all. But they gradually got used to it. Now Du Chen helps with any academic questions Du Bin has, which has made Du Chen very proud.

Du Chen thought about when he was in junior high school. His brother Du Bin taught him a lot and also beat him a lot.

Now, the emancipated serfs are singing, it is finally his turn. However, he certainly doesn't dare to take action, as his brother Du Bin might easily kill him.
