Chapter 428 Past Events

"Lü Wen? Is he Brother Bin's classmate?"

Kiki said, looking at Du Bin.

“That’s right!”

"It's him. Okay, I get it! Brother Chen, tell me how to teach him a lesson!"

Jiji immediately remembered who Lu Wen was, and then asked Du Chen how he wanted to teach him a lesson.

"Jiji, do you know Lu Wen?"

Du Bin asked Kiki curiously. As soon as Du Chen mentioned Lu Wen, Kiki reacted. It was obvious that they knew each other!

"Brother Chen and Brother Bin, have you forgotten how we met?"

Kiki asked Du Chen and Du Bin with a smile, and Du Bin reacted immediately.

"Oh, so Lu Wen teamed up with you guys to set up a trap, right?"

Du Bin spoke directly to Kiki.

"Hey, wasn't that back then when we were young and ignorant? We had just met Brother Chen! But after meeting you guys, none of us have had any contact with Lu Wen since then. And Lu Wen was even slapped twice by the boss!"

When Du Bin mentioned the past, Jiji felt a little embarrassed. But deep down, Jiji was grateful to Lv Wen. If it weren't for Lv Wen, they wouldn't have met Du Chen. If they hadn't met Du Chen, how could they be so successful now? If they hadn't met Du Chen, maybe some of them would have started learning to sew.

"Haha, now that you mention it, I remember that Lu Wen's face was swollen the next day, and there was a slap mark on it!"

When Du Bin thought of this, his mood became much better.

"Brother Chen, tell me, how do we teach the other party a lesson?"

Kiki asked Du Chen again.

"Brother, Sister Miaomiao, what are you looking at?"

Du Chen turned to look at Du Bin and Ding Miaomiao. They were the two parties involved. How to teach the other party a lesson depended on their opinions. They had to be satisfied with both of them.

"Miaomiao, what do you think?"

Du Bin asked Ding Miaomiao, and he was happy as long as Ding Miaomiao was happy.

"Chenchen, just teach him a lesson, but don't use too much force. Don't hurt him, or you'll be in trouble if the police come!"

Ding Miaomiao thought for a moment and said to Du Chen.

After hearing Ding Miaomiao's suggestion, Du Chen nodded with satisfaction. Fortunately, Ding Miaomiao was not so heartless and said she would let the other party go, otherwise Du Chen would be disappointed in Ding Miaomiao.

"Jiji, you heard what my sister Miaomiao said. Just find someone to teach the other person a lesson! Also, don't do it yourself. Find someone to handle it. Find someone with clean hands and feet and a tight mouth, so they won't get you involved later!"

Du Chen gave Kiki an instruction.

"Don't worry, Brother Chen, I understand. Even if you find out about it, I won't say anything nonsense. It definitely has nothing to do with you!"

Kiki's brain reacted quickly now, and he immediately understood what Du Chen meant, so he made a promise to Du Chen.

"Hey, you're overthinking it. I still have a lot of things I need you to help me deal with in the future. What will happen to me if you get involved? Besides, you have hope for the future now, so you can't let yourself get hurt!"

Although Du Chen was very satisfied with Kiki's attitude, he naturally couldn't say what was in his heart. He comforted Kiki and told her not to think too much. He really didn't want Kiki to have any problems. Whether from the perspective of future helpers or whether Kiki could keep it confidential, Du Chen definitely didn't want anything to go wrong on Kiki's side.

"Okay, Kiki, we're going to be late. Let's go to class first. I'll meet you at the office tonight!"

Du Chen looked at his Casio digital watch, spoke to Kiki, and then walked into the campus.

"Okay, Brother Chen, see you tonight!"

Watching Du Chen and others walk into the school, Kiki did not forget to shout to Du Chen from outside.

"Brother, let Jiji handle Lu Wen's situation. Don't interfere!"

Du Chen was afraid that Du Bin was still unwilling to give up, so he also asked someone to deal with Lu Wen and directly instructed the other party.

"Don't worry, with you here to help, and Kiki and the others looking for someone to do it, I won't go looking for anyone else!"

Du Bin said this decisively to Du Chen. Du Chen stared at Du Bin and felt that what he said was true, so he simply put his mind at ease.

The afternoon passed quickly, and in the blink of an eye, Du Chen and the others had returned to the shop. The days were getting colder, the days were shorter, and the sun was setting earlier, so Lao Du and Lao Ding were returning home earlier each day.

"Mom and Dad, I'm going out for a while after dinner!"

At the dinner table, the two families were having dinner, and Du Chen took the time to speak to Comrade Lao Du.

"What are you going out for?"

Comrade Lao Du asked calmly.

"Dad, I asked Li Dewen to investigate your section chief. He told me today that they have made some progress. I'll go over and talk to them in detail later!"

Du Chen didn't lie, because he had no good reason. Comrade Lao Du and the others would definitely not let him go out. Besides, he had already told them what he was going to do last time. It would be easier to get out if he just said what he was going to do this time.

"Oh? Any clues?"

Except for Du Bin and Ding Miaomiao, everyone at the table looked at Du Chen curiously, wanting to know what Li Dewen had discovered.

"There's something wrong with the accounts between the section chief and the hardware company, and Li Dewen told me that the strength of the screws coming in seems to be a problem too!"

Du Chen told Comrade Lao Du directly.

Upon hearing this, both Lao Du and Lao Ding frowned. It was perfectly normal to get paid for a project if it had problems, but a problem with the strength of the screws was a major issue! The engineering section was responsible for the laying, maintenance, and repair of rails in the railway system, including the fixing of rails to sleepers, all of which were done with bolts. If the bolts were not strong enough, a problem could be a major disaster!

"That shouldn't be possible, right? How dare the other party use bolts that are not strong enough? How many heads does he have!"

Lao Ding said hesitantly to Comrade Lao Du.

"I don't know, but I don't think so. If the bolts aren't strong enough and something goes wrong, it would be a huge problem. I don't think they'd dare to do that. I believe they can get some money, but I don't believe they have problems with the materials."

Comrade Lao Du also spoke hesitantly, not knowing whether he was speaking to Du Chen and Lao Ding, or to himself.

Hearing what Comrade Lao Du said, Du Chen frowned and his heart tightened. He vaguely remembered that around this time in his previous life, a locomotive driver derailed and overturned while shunting a train, causing the entire heavy train to derail. Although no one was hurt, the train was delayed for several days, and several locomotive leaders were held accountable.

Du Chen could remember this incident because his neighbor was a maintenance driver. Whenever he got off work, he would talk about this incident with people around him, saying that the responsibility did not lie with the driver, but that there were problems with the construction on the maintenance side.

Now that I think about it, maybe this section chief did a "good deed". I don't know what means he used in his previous life to suppress this matter.

"Dad, Uncle Ding, there's no point in you guys speculating here. I'll go over and talk to you in detail later to see if there's any solid evidence!"

Du Chen took the opportunity to speak to Comrade Lao Du.
