Chapter 56 The theft that gave Lao Ding a headache

Du Chen measured with a multimeter for a while, then directly used a soldering iron to solder the handle wires to the circuit board. He didn't put the arcade panel back, but turned it on to see if it could be used.

"Wow, Chenchen, you are so awesome! The handle really works." Chen Junfeng took the handle and tried it, and found that it really worked.

"It's okay, as long as it can be used. Do you want to install a handle on the other side?" Du Chen asked modestly for a moment.

"Put it on too, now we can play games together."

Upon hearing this, Du Chen soldered the other handle to the circuit board. After trying it, he turned off the computer and prepared to put the button panel back.

Because Du Bin had to get the tools, and the modification took time, the Du Chen brothers played for about twenty minutes and then prepared to go back to the store, especially since it was almost noon.

"Chen Junfeng, my brother and I are going back to eat first. We'll come and play with you next time when we have time!"

"Okay, let's do it next week!" Chen Junfeng directly made an appointment to come over and play next week.

When the Du Chen brothers returned to the store, Comrade Lao Du was already sitting at the counter. It seemed that the repair shop had finished its work.

"How's it going, Dad? Has the car been taken away?"

"Yeah, he just took it away. I just came in. I've been waiting for him all morning."

"Did the leader say anything after testing the car?" Du Chen asked curiously.

"I don't know. He chatted with the section chief for a few minutes and then left." Comrade Lao Du said.

"Then the leader didn't say anything?"

"You didn't even say anything to me, what's that saying?"

Comrade Lao Du was actually a little unhappy. Although he was a branch leader, he couldn't control himself. Besides, I was a formal railway employee. If I recognized you as my leader, you were the leader. If I didn't recognize you, he couldn't do anything to me.

I helped you with work for a week because my leader asked me to do so. I didn't want anything from you, but I didn't even say thank you. This is too much.

As soon as Du Chen saw Comrade Lao Du's expression, he knew that his father was unhappy. If Comrade Lao Du was unhappy, he would also be unhappy.

"Don't let me get the chance next time!" Du Chen gritted his teeth in his heart.

"Dad, how is your section chief feeling?"

"How's the section chief feeling? Probably just average. I can't tell, but he's definitely unhappy. I saw our section chief's face darken after the branch leader left."

"Not happy either? It seems the leader of this branch is quite arrogant?" Du Chen didn't dare to swear in front of his father for fear of being beaten.

"What's so great about that? I don't know what the section chief was thinking. It seems like he's getting a cold shoulder."

"I don't know, maybe I can ask someone else to do it for me?"

Comrade Lao Du made a guess.

"Who cares? We've already made the changes, and it has nothing to do with us anymore."

"Well, let's not talk about this anymore. By the way, why did you ask your brother to go to the repair shop to get a multimeter?"

The two quickly changed the subject.

"Just now my brother and I went to their classmate's house..."

Du Chen briefly explained what he had done with the tools just now.

"Playing games is one thing, but it can't affect your studies! Especially for you, Du Bin." Comrade Lao Du reminded the two brothers.

The audio modification work has come to an end. The process was perfect, but the car owner was not very good. Not only Comrade Lao Du who did the work, but also Mi Duan who did the wiring, both of them were in a bad mood.

As they were about to go into the inner room to eat, they saw Ding Miaomiao and Lao Ding coming in from the door.

"Hey, Lao Ding, aren't you busy today? Have you eaten yet? Come in and have a bite. I have a bottle of wine here. Let's drink it together."

Comrade Lao Du quickly greeted him.

"Eat, eat, hurry up and eat. Forget about it lately, I've been having a terrible headache lately. I'm taking some time off today, and my child Miaomiao said she wanted to come and read a book, so I came out to relax too."

"Come in for a drink and a chat after finishing your meal. Let Du Bin go with Miao Miao to choose some books. Let's go in and have a drink!"

Comrade Lao Du pulled Lao Ding into the house as he spoke. Lao Ding pretended to refuse and then followed Comrade Lao Du into the house. When he heard about drinking, Lao Ding could not walk anymore.

Ding Miaomiao watched her father pretend to decline and then go drink with him. She shook her head speechlessly and turned to Du Bin and said, "Du Bin, have you got any new teaching supplementary books recently? I want to rent a couple more books. By the way, why don't you eat first?"

"Don't worry, I'll find the book for you first and then we'll go eat."

Du Chen was worried that you would listen to Lao Ding's constant complaints at the dinner table, saying that he was too busy recently, that there was a case he couldn't solve, and that his boss was pressing him...

"Old Du, you don't know! I've been so busy lately. There's a case in the station that hasn't been solved yet, and the boss is pushing us every day. Sigh..."

"What case? What kind of case could there be on our railway?"

"You're from the engineering department, don't you know? A lot of railroad shoes have been missing recently, along with some scrap rails. Your engineering department reported the case, and we've been patrolling every night and haven't caught any!"

Old Ding took a sip of wine and complained to Old Du.

"Really? I'm at work every day and not in the work area, so I don't know. How much is enough?"

"I heard from your work area leader that it's worth three or four thousand."

"What! How many rails must have been stolen? How could they have stolen them all?"

"Well, it wasn't just lost all at once. People didn't notice at first, but then they realized a lot of the shoes were missing. They felt something was wrong, so they checked and found that a lot of scrap rails had been taken away from the tracks!"

Du Chen listened thoughtfully, because he had heard about this incident before. Due to the huge value of the case, the city sent people to investigate and it took them more than a month to catch the thieves.
