"What the hell? Everyone in the class knows about this?"
Du Bin asked his desk mate in surprise. He stopped pretending to be surprised. He just wanted to know if everyone in the class knew about it.
"Haha, it's not just the whole class, I guess the whole school knows about it too. You say you don't know about the slightest disturbance in such a small place?"
Du Bin's deskmate sneered and answered Du Bin's question.
"Damn it!"
Feeling depressed, Du Bin started swearing.
"Can you tell me what's going on? Satisfy my curiosity?"
Du Bin's deskmate continued to ask Du Bin curiously.
"Go away, I'm tired!"
Du Bin said that he didn't want to talk to his deskmate, and if conditions permit, he would like to change his deskmate.
On the way home from school at noon, Ding Miaomiao handed Du Bin the self-criticism that Liu Rifei gave her in the morning.
"Here, this is the self-criticism Liu Rifei gave me this morning. Take a look at it too."
"I'm not going to read it. What's so interesting about it? I haven't even written my self-criticism yet, so why should I read his?"
Du Bin shook his head and refused. He was joking. With his experience in writing self-criticisms, he could easily write more than a thousand words.
"But you, Ding Miaomiao, you should take a closer look! You don't have any experience writing self-criticisms, so you might as well take a look at Liu Rifei and the others and learn from their experience!"
Du Bin said to Ding Miaomiao with a smile.
"Du Bin, you are laughing at me!"
"No, no, you're inexperienced. I'm afraid I can't write a thousand words. Hahaha..."
At first, Du Bin pretended to be serious, but in the end, he couldn't help laughing.
"Hey, have you laughed enough?"
Ding Miaomiao looked at Du Bin and saw him laughing more and more happily, and said to him in a bad mood.
“Enough is enough!”
Du Bin endured it again and again, and finally stopped smiling and said, "Enough."
"Hey... Ding Miaomiao, why aren't you angry?"
After laughing enough, Du Bin noticed that Ding Miaomiao was not angry. If he had mocked Ding Miaomiao like this normally, she would have lost control of her temper.
"You're right. I just don't have any experience writing self-criticisms, so why am I so angry?"
Ding Miaomiao asked Du Bin a question in return.
"Unlike you, who wrote so many self-criticisms and looked so proud of yourself."
Today, Ding Miaomiao changed her usual bad temper and became sharp-tongued.
When Du Bin heard Ding Miaomiao's words, his smile froze on his face.
"Yeah, why should I be so proud?"
Du Bin couldn't help but ask himself in his heart.
"Ahem, that's how it was, Ding Miaomiao. I'm a good kid now. I go to school every day and draw illustrations in my free time. Don't look at me with your old eyes!"
"Yeah, I know. I'm just joking with you."
Ding Miaomiao said to Du Chen with a smile, who looked depressed.
"By the way, Du Bin, how's your illustration going? And has Chenchen replied to the magazine yet?"
"I've already drawn four or five pictures. Chenchen said he's going to send them out today and can't put it off any longer."
"Summer vacation is just over a month away. I need to quickly send the drawings over for review and then arrange for publication. Time is pretty tight."
"Du Bin, I wish you success in your manuscript! But I believe in you! The illustrations you draw are really beautiful, I like them very much!"
Ding Miaomiao spoke to Du Bin in a rare gentle voice.
"Hey, Ding Miaomiao, please speak so kindly. I'm getting goosebumps!"
Du Bin rubbed his arms and said to Ding Miaomiao with disgust.
"Du Bin! Why didn't I speak properly? Come on, explain it to me."
"Oh, isn't that the right tone!"
Du Bin said this, and Ding Miaomiao lost her temper. He was not used to the girl's accent, and she had to speak and behave like a boy, which made Du Bin feel comfortable.
…
"Du Chen, where are you going after school if not to the store?"
Liu Yi followed Du Chen closely. He was very curious about where Du Chen was going instead of going home.
"Going to the post office to mail a letter! Do you want to go?"
"Go ahead. I'll go home after I've mailed the letter with you. Are you going to submit your manuscript again? Don't you usually go to the post office in the afternoon after school?"
Liu Yi had sent letters with Du Chen before, but it was always in the afternoon after school. Because lunchtime was too tight, he usually went in the afternoon.
"Well, I've written two more recently, and there are some other things I'm busy with, so I'm a bit anxious. I'm afraid if I go down to post the letter, it might not be sent until tomorrow."
Anyway, there was nothing to do on the way, and it was nice to have someone to talk to, so Du Chen answered whatever Liu Yi asked. Normally, if Du Chen was busy, he wouldn't have time to answer.
"Du Chen, you're amazing. By the way, summer vacation is about to start in a little over a month. What are you planning to do during your summer vacation?"
Liu Yi was a little curious, mainly because he planned to play with Du Chen every day during the summer vacation.
"My plan now is to go to Longcheng for a few days, then go to Beijing for a few days. Maybe I'll stay at my grandparents' house for a few days, but I'm not sure about that."
Du Chen was not sure whether he would go back to his grandparents' house this summer vacation. In previous years, he, his brother and his mother would have to stay at his grandma's house for at least ten days or half a month.
But this year, that's not certain. After all, the family still owns the store, and while there aren't many people during the summer vacation, it's impossible for it to be closed for a week or two. Even if he's willing, I don't think his mother would agree.
After sending the letter, I returned to the store. Comrade Lao Du and my fourth uncle were already in the store. The whole family was waiting for Du Chen to come back for dinner.
"Second brother, the stereo is back. I've already started dismantling the interior today."
Chatting as a family during meals has become a must.
