Chapter 13: A gentleman's revenge is never too late
When they were about to turn from the small road to the national highway, they heard the roars of zombies and the cries of a little boy for help from the front.
Yan Qing slowed down his riding speed. Because the motorcycle had been modified, the three people in front did not notice that Yan Qing was approaching slowly.
A little boy fell to the ground. He turned his head to look at the dozen zombies not far away, and with tears in his eyes, he stretched out his little hand to his parents in front.
The woman stopped and looked back. Just as she was about to turn around, the man next to her forcibly pulled her away.
"Let's go! We can still have another child if he dies! Let's run now!"
The woman raised her head the moment she heard this, her eyes filled with tears, and she looked at the man in front of her in disbelief.
"You...what did you say? Are you still human? He is your son!!"
"So what if he is my son? I can still have another child! If I die, there will be nothing left! Let's go!"
The woman angrily shook off the man's hand, and regardless of his obstruction, she turned around and ran towards her four-year-old son.
"Mom!"
"Haohao!"
When the two people, one big and one small, hugged each other, the zombies had already roared to their front.
The man in front saw this and left the mother and daughter behind, running away as fast as he could.
"Mom, I'm scared!"
"Don't be afraid, Haohao, mom will protect you!"
The woman picked up the child and looked at the zombies that were slowly surrounding them. She was shaking and choking with fear.
When the woman closed her eyes, took a few deep breaths, and prepared to force her way out with her frail body,
"Squat down!"
A cold voice came into the woman's ears, and before her brain could react, her body had already squatted down.
After the woman squatted down, she heard the sound of chopping bones.
When she was about to look up, a chopped zombie head rolled to her feet...
The rotten blue face reflected in her pupils, and a suffocating stench rushed straight to the top of her head. It seemed that the dead man was not dead yet, and his eyeballs kept circling around.
The woman was so scared that she sat on the ground, and cold sweat kept coming out of her forehead. After a long time, she trembled and cried while holding the child.
When the little boy was about to look back in the woman's arms, the woman reached out and pressed the child's head on her shoulder, so that the little boy did not see this disgusting and terrible scene.
The woman looked up at Yan Qing, who was wielding a Tang sword and harvesting zombies one after another not far away, as if she saw the salvation of God.
After the last zombie fell, Yan Qing turned around, and
the woman only saw Yan Qing's half-white face wearing a mask, and his eyes as dark as ink and without any ripples.
After standing up with the child in his arms, before the woman could say anything, Yan Qing threw a package to the woman, turned around and walked towards his motorcycle without saying a word.
When the woman took the package with one hand and looked up again, she could only see the back of Yan Qing riding a motorcycle away.
"Mom, it was the goddess who saved us!"
The woman nodded, looked at her child lovingly with tears in her eyes, and continued to move forward with the package given by Yan Qing and the child in her arms.
After many detours, Yan Qing finally arrived at Qingjiang Village about two hours later. She parked the motorcycle at the gate of Qingjiang Village and looked around.
She saw that the surrounding environment was very quiet, without a single person or zombie, which made Yan Qing feel a little strange.
She put the motorcycle into the space, found the tallest tree nearby and climbed up,
and took out fish-flavored pork shreds, braised beef, stir-fried seasonal vegetables and a bowl of rice from the space and ate them.
"Burp~Ha!" After
opening a bottle of iced soda and taking a sip, Yan Qing felt refreshed
. If she hadn't had some important things to do, she would have even wanted to take a nap here.
After resting on the tree branch for about ten minutes, she swiftly climbed down the tree and walked towards Qingjiang Village.
Walking on the stone path in the village, Yan Qing's strange feeling reappeared.
The village was too quiet, so quiet that it was a little unusual. She always felt a little panicked,
but the zombies had just broken out, so there shouldn't be anything scary, right?
She stood in the small square in the village, looking at the doors of the houses around her.
Some doors were closed, while some were open. There was not a single ray of sunlight shining through the wide-open doors.
From her perspective, the houses were dark, and it seemed that something was staring at her. Was it the villagers?
The villagers of Qingjiang Village would not eat human flesh so soon, would they?
Thinking of the shocking scene in her previous life, she took out the special Tang sword from space and held it in her hand.
After holding the Tang sword in her hand, her sense of security seemed to have returned a lot, and even her wrinkled brows were relaxed a lot.
Looking at the village in front of her, which was not as dilapidated as in her previous life, she recalled the location of the ancestral hall in Qingjiang Village and followed her memory to the northeast.
Something was wrong.
The more Yan Qing walked, the more she felt something was wrong.
The panic and uneasiness in her heart became stronger and stronger.
Yan Qing stopped, stood there and closed her eyes, thinking back to the time when she came to Qingjiang Village in her previous life.
It was no different from other villages with zombie outbreaks. Most of the zombies in the village were ordinary zombies.
Occasionally there were a few first-level zombies, but she could easily solve them with a lightning power.
But Qingjiang Village at this time was too weird, so Yan Qing had to stop.
"Bang, bang, bang--"
Her heartbeat suddenly accelerated, as if something bad was about to happen. Her whole body was tense, and cold sweat gradually broke out on her forehead and the hand holding the Tang sword.
Her back felt a little cold, and she felt something was staring at her and approaching her. She fixed her eyes, and swung the Tang sword in her hand backwards fiercely.
"clang!"
A mutated zombie!
Yan Qing frowned and looked at the zombie in front of her whose upper body had been mutated. Its hands turned into swords and caught her Tang sword, and the Tang sword did not cause any damage to it!
The mutated zombie in front of her saw that it failed to hit Yan Qing with one blow, and retreated dozens of meters away to face her. Neither the man nor the zombie dared to move first.
Yan Qing quickly thought about how to kill the zombie in front of her, which was not only mutated but also extremely fast. Things were a bit tricky.
In the previous life, I never heard of mutated zombies appearing here. Could it be the butterfly effect after her rebirth?
"Clang!"
The mutant zombie took advantage of Yan Qing's distraction and rushed forward to launch a sneak attack, but was blocked by Yan Qing's Tang sword again.
Seeing this, the mutant zombie turned his two-handed sword into two hooks and slashed towards Yan Qing's neck, intending to cut off Yan Qing's head.
She didn't have time to think about it. She bent back and chopped the mutant zombie's lower body with the Tang sword.
"Roar! Roar!"
Yan Qing's eyes flashed with surprise. Her lower body was not mutated!
The mutant zombie, whose leg was injured by the Tang sword, almost fell down. It staggered back ten meters away, leaving Yan Qing helpless again.
It was too fast. Even though half of her leg was cut, Yan Qing could only defend passively. If she attacked rashly, she would be easily caught.
Yan Qing was a little annoyed. She had just noticed something was wrong in the village and should have retreated directly.
After all, it is never too late for a gentleman to take revenge. Now it is not certain whether she can get out alive.
