Chapter 1027 Chant

After Zhu Xiaojun said "I want to go home too", he found himself standing in the room. Most importantly, Zhu Xiaojun was still holding the knife he had just taken from the kitchen.

A knife? He remembered not having a knife in his hand when he saw the wheat field. Zhu Xiaojun raised his left hand and looked at it. His index finger was smooth, with no trace of wound at all. And the necklace was lying on the table in front of Zhu Xiaojun.

Was I dreaming? Or did I really see Liu Meiling? What was going on?

The knife in Zhu Xiaojun's hand fell to the ground with a clang sound, waking up Zhu Xiaojun who was in a daze.

Zhu Xiaojun felt a buzzing sound in his head and had a severe headache.

"Xiaojun, Xiaojuan is here, please come out quickly." There was a knock on the door, and the voice of Grandma Zhu Wang Wenjun came from outside.

"Grandma, please wait a moment." Zhu Xiaojun pressed his stinging forehead, stuffed the necklace on the table into his trouser pocket, and then opened the door.

"Xiaojun, come to the study quickly." Wang Wenjun gave the order without entering the room, then turned around and left.

Zhu Xiaojun wanted to say he was not feeling well, but seeing Wang Wenjun already walking some distance ahead, he gritted his teeth and started to catch up.

Zhu Xiaojun actually didn't want to go to the study at all.

In the past twenty years, Zhu Xiaojun has been to the study three times. Every time he went there, he would faint in it. After coming out, Zhu Xiaojun felt that his mind was confused and he could only remember a few scenes: a dark wooden Buddha statue, endless chanting, and bursts of stabbing pain...

But Grandma just said that Xiaojuan is going too. Why is Xiaojuan going? Does Grandma want Xiaojuan to go through the same pain he went through? No! It’s enough for him to suffer alone in this family. There’s no need to drag Xiaojuan into this.

Zhu Xiaojuan stood at the door of the study with a faint smile on her face.

Seeing Zhu Xiaojun, Zhu Xiaojuan took a step forward and called out "Big Brother."

"Xiaojuan, it's okay, don't be afraid." Zhu Xiaojun took the opportunity to pat his sister's shoulder and whispered in her ear.

"Yeah." Zhu Xiaojuan nodded, followed Wang Wenjun obediently, and walked into Zhu Xiangyang's study.

Wang Wenjun observed the interaction between Zhu Xiaojun and his sister, but she said nothing. After entering the room, she walked over to the bookshelf that was more than a meter tall.

No one knew where Wang Wenjun pressed the button, but after a rumbling sound, the bookshelf in the study moved away, revealing a secret room as big as the study.

If Zhu Xiaojun had not been to this secret room before, he really would not have known that there was such a mechanism in his own study.

The layout of the secret room was exactly the same as Zhu Xiangyang's study, except that there was a tall mahogany shelf next to the desk, on which was enshrined a Buddha statue more than a foot tall.

The Buddha statue is completely black and sits on a black tiger, which is also pitch black. It looks very imposing.

After Wang Wenjun closed the secret room, he first lit three incense sticks in front of the Buddha statue, then turned his head to look at Zhu Xiaojun and his sister, and said lightly: "Kneel down."

"Grandma, who is this? Is it a god?" Zhu Xiaojun pointed at the Buddha statue and asked.

"Xiaojun, how can you point your finger at the witch god? This is extremely disrespectful!" Wang Wenjun frowned.

"Witch God? What does it control? Longevity or promotion and wealth?" Zhu Xiaojun spoke in a nonchalant tone. He couldn't help but get angry when he saw Wang Wenjun's unhappy face.

"Kneel down! Don't you listen to grandma?" Wang Wenjun shouted. In the Zhu family, the children and grandchildren all listened to Wang Wenjun. After all, Zhu Xiangyang always regarded Wang Wenjun as a treasure in her heart and would not allow anyone to disobey her.

Zhu Xiaojun and Zhu Xiaojuan, brother and sister, looked at each other and knelt down in front of the Buddha statue.

"Believer Zhu Xiaojun, and believer Zhu Xiaojuan, are willing to sacrifice everything they have just to make you the leader of our tribe. That~ma~hmm~ah~..." Wang Wenjun's voice was very soft. Zhu Xiaojun and Zhu Xiaojuan only saw her mouth opening and closing, and could not hear what she was saying at all. They only heard a strange chanting sound coming out of Wang Wenjun's mouth.

"Ah~!" Zhu Xiaojuan felt as if her head was being pierced by millions of needles at the same time. She couldn't help but scream in pain.

Zhu Xiaojun looked at Wang Wenjun anxiously, his eyes full of pleading.

Wang Wenjun closed her eyes tightly, her lips moving constantly, as if she hadn't heard Zhu Xiaojuan's cries of pain. Moans escaped from Wang Wenjun's mouth, and Zhu Xiaojun felt his vision go dark.

"Ah~!" Zhu Xiaojuan screamed again.

Zhu Xiaojun endured the pain in his head and opened his eyes wide.

A wisp of white mist slowly floated out from above Zhu Xiaojuan's head and drifted towards the dark Buddha statue.

"No! No!" Zhu Xiaojun shouted. He didn't know what the white mist was, nor did he know what it meant when the white mist in Zhu Xiaojuan's head drifted towards the Buddha statue. However, none of this concerned Zhu Xiaojun. All he could see was his sister, who was in pain.

Wang Wenjun's chanting became more urgent. The white mist paused for a moment, then continued to drift towards the Buddha statue. Just as the white mist was about to touch the Buddha statue, Zhu Xiaojun shouted, "Stop! No!"

With Zhu Xiaojun's shout, the white mist really stopped.

The white gas paused in the air for half a second, then quickly retracted into Zhu Xiaojuan's head.

Wang Wenjun opened his eyes, pointed at Zhu Xiaojun and cursed, "You evil creature! How dare you... How dare you..."

Before Wang Wenjun could finish his words, he spat out a large mouthful of blood with a "puff" sound and fell backwards.

"Grandma!" Zhu Xiaojun was shocked and quickly stood up and ran towards Wang Wenjun.

Zhu Xiaojun felt a little panicked. He hadn't done anything just now! He just cried out at his sister's pained expression. How could he have angered his grandmother to the point of vomiting blood?

Unfortunately, Zhu Xiaojun was too slow to catch Wang Wenjun, who was about to fall. Wang Wenjun fell to the ground with a loud thud.

After Wang Wenjun fell to the ground, Zhu Xiaojuan's head strangely stopped hurting.

When Zhu Xiaojuan opened her eyes, what she saw was the scene of Wang Wenjun vomiting blood.

Zhu Xiaojuan was so frightened that she crawled to Wang Wenjun's side and called out, "Grandma, what's wrong with you?"

Wang Wenjun closed her eyes tightly, her face extremely pale. If it weren't for the faint rise and fall of her chest, Zhu Xiaojuan would have thought she was no longer breathing.

"Brother, what should we do?" Zhu Xiaojuan raised her wet eyes, her eyes full of sadness.
